It's a small place that you can very easily drive by. In fact, I did, but only once. The first couple times I turned down this road, I was certain the directions were wrong, because it looks so residential. But never fear. There's even parking, usually. Mr Park has a small shop with a few display cases showing off rings, bracelets, and other jewelry. Lots of sparkles. There are a few old-fashioned mantle clocks (I have kind of a thing for these), and a few miscellaneous other decorative items. Signs say he buys gold. He sits at a workbench behind the cases, and seems to do a steady business in watch and clock repair. I brought in a new watch I'd gotten for Christmas that needed links added to the band. Off-the-shelf watches are always too small for my meathead wrists. He didn't happen to stock extra links, but I got a few from the customer service department of the watch manufacturer. He got right to work the second I came in, and tapped it all together while I sat in his one chair. $10 to take a watch I couldn't even fit over my hand and turn it into something I can wear comfortably whenever I want. It took him maybe 5 minutes. Mr Park isn't the chattiest person you've ever met. He didn't even shoot the breeze with me at all until he was ringing me out. But he's a friendly, nice guy once the work is done. Watch and clock people always seem to be hyper-focused, from what little I know. Given how much more he smiled after tuning up my watchband, I think that might be his vibe. I have a mantle clock that doesn't always run and I think I might be back here to tune that up when I think of it.

The careful presentation of jewelry and fine items are close to the cash register for easy check out. The sales are always full and offer fine items. The items are priced competitively for their worth. Whenever there is a Donnelly and Donnelly sale, I am there! I know its going to be great!

I may have misread the terms, but I still don't agree…read morewith rewarding those who go around disturbing neighbors to find a sale before you publicize the address.*** They get two stars for organizing a large estate sale - but minus 3 for not administering a list, even stating they won't use a list (in their ad) - but then they used a list!! Many (15+) people "found" the address of this sale the NIGHT before and signed up before the address was released to the public. At least 15 names were on the list by the time anyone arrived at 6 am (when the address was released). Then when they opened the door for the sale they picked up the unofficial (in my opinion illicit) list and began calling names from it. This being the list that started before the public was even given the address. I'll let you draw your own conclusions about why this would happen but none of the conclusions bode well for Donnelly in my mind.

I showed him some silver and gemstones that he appraised and and then we discussed making a pendant out of the ring setting leftover from my mother's wedding ring (I had recently set the stone in a different piece). Mike was terrific about communicating the status of my project every step of the way. The pendant turned out beautifully and he was also able to put a gorgeous Peridot in it as well!! Owner Mike was an hour late from posted online start time but I called ahead to make sure the job…read morewas fit for his expertise and to arrange a meet time, which he answered promptly. When I arrived he said it was $30 for a battery change and $25 for a link change (he said if I needed two links which I had, but was missing one of the two pins that would be needed to hold the links together, it would be an additional $10 for the part). I tried to haggle as it is a cash only business, to which he added sales tax to the service. So just over 60 dollars for a battery change and one link put-on. I personally think he was overcharging $5-$10 per service performed (in this case, two). However, he is an expert with years of experience and one of the very few watch makers available in the area. Also, you don't have to ship your watch if you don't want to (like many places require nowadays). There are various ATM's close-by within walking distance. It took Mike about 15 minutes and I would recommend but, must know he is firm with his business and signs are posted that sales are final whether your watch works afterwards or not.

After several days of searching, we called him and he denied having it. When we showed up, there it was in his store. He refused to allow us to have it, even though we had proof it was my father. This guy made the situation much worse. He even wanted my DL, for what I'm not sure. Not sure what rock he climbed out of but he needs to return. One of the worst! Experiences ever. Doesn't know what customer service is and if your a female, forget the respect. I'd stay away from this place, and go somewhere else.
