Issue resolved however they've lost my trust. I won't shop there again. Some scrap gold was returned from a repair job. I got the proverbial runaround when I asked what happened to the other piece, at one point suggesting that I may have kept it. That was after dropping about $4K in repairs, appraisals and a neck chain. I was sent a "replacement" for the piece that wasn't returned. Photos below of what I brought in and what I was given. If I could add five more stars I would. Dane was absolutely amazing. He offered the greatest customer service I've experienced. Cline is a small family owned business, and I definitely felt the care Dane extended when my husband walked in needing to have my ring redesigned because the original jeweler in Kansas City did a terrible job. Diamonds were becoming loose. I had lost my main stone for 24 hours, and 3 weeks after getting the fixed ring back from the original designer a small gem fell out. Enough was enough. Dane explained why the poor design allowed diamonds to become loose, and reassured us that their quality is far superior, explaining what the design needed to be to prevent the issue from happening. Flash forward a week, and we go in to look at the 3D mold of the new design. We decided to combine my bands into one ring. Six weeks later it's finished and I'm not in love with the design. Our wedding is in 5 weeks. Dane helped us redesign and get the ring in time for our wedding. It's absolutely perfect and I've never loved it more. I also purchased my husband's band from Dane. Anyone looking for jewelry or services, I refer them to Cline. You cannot beat the quality, trust, and comfort they provide. read more

Have been familiar with Clines since the 1990's when my mom would take jewelry for appraisal or repair. The vibe then as it is now was just snotty and not authentic. I took a pair of gold earrings for repair in addition to family heirloom pieces for evaluation. Customer service was polite. Work on the earrings was solid. When I asked in regard to the heirloom pieces the lady toss one on the counter "Yeah. These aren't real. They're nothing." And walked off. I thought she was coming back to tell me about the other piece, but Nope, did not return. So I asked another staff for the evaluation of the 2nd piece: "Yes. This piece is 18k gold with plastic wannabe gems." I commented that plastic on 18k did not make sense. She shrugged her shoulders. I asked the estimated value: Maybe $400 she said. I received a 2nd opinion of the piece elsewhere: 18kt gold with gemstones, and white gold with an estimated $1500. As I was walking out of the store I saw a co-worker and we were saying Hello. The same woman whispered something to a young brunette female staff .... The young brunette immediately came over to "ask" if we needed help with anything. Ok. Yeah. Sure. That was not obvious at all. As much as I love supporting local businesses Cline's just has never been authentic enough with its "customer service". read more

I was walking in downtown edmonds today and decided to stop in and have my diamond cleaned and checked. They were very pleasant and professional. I spotted a couple pens on the counter that had large rhinestone diamonds on the top. I commented that they were very pretty. A gentleman came over to me and handed me one. Wow, I was surprised. Looking a gift horse in the mouth... I asked if he had the rose gold one!!!! He said yhis was the last one they had. We laughed and I said thank you. I went here because the reviews had me convinced and, I always need a reason to come to downtown Edmonds. Anyway, I was helped by Anita and she was very attentive to my wishes and what results I'm expecting. I dropped off my Tiffany bracelet to be polished to new and re-adjust the links. Cost? I'm not so sure. I thought $165.60 to polish and re adjust the links is expensive! But after she told me it will look brand new again, I am pretty convinced as she said it with conviction. Seeing is believing and I will update this review. She took a picture of my bracelet and uploaded it to their file as well as my contact info. I was told I will get a text and hopefully by next week. We have bought many pieces of jewelry here. Some lovely estate pieces, as well as other regular inventory. They always have such a great selection. We recently had a custom piece ring made, from some stones I had in other rings. Mindy was so helpful, and patient in designing, and getting me the ring I wanted. We also have them do basic battery replacement in our watches. They are always happy to do so, and never treat us like we aren't important because that's all we're having done. What a wonderful experience I had getting a friend's ring repaired at Cline Jewelers! In the midst of the pandemic, Gina worked with me by text to schedule convenient appointments for drop-off and pick-up, and everyone there is taking intelligent precautions to protect their customers. They're even doing touchless online payments! I felt very safe and cared for. My friend's sterling signet ring had collapsed and broken on the palm side, and two of the four small rubies were damaged. Cline Jewelers sourced and replaced the rubies to a close match (actually, they're nicer stones than the existing ones had been), and not only fixed the band, but removed the previous material entirely and made the band much more solid and stable. The work exceeded my admittedly high expectations, and my friend's response: "It is literally better than new and I love it!" All that AND a reasonable price. But after another jewelry repair shop in Seattle totally botched my engagement ring, I learned that Cline also does repairs. I went in for a consult, and wow what a difference! My girlfriend (at that time) and I were ready to get engaged and we chose Cline Jewelers at the recommendation of several friends and family members. We had high expectations going into the store and in every way, they exceeded them. We wanted to try out a couple styles before deciding on a final design for the ring. Luckily, this store is able to produce wax molds made to the exact size of my now girlfriend's finger in the design she was most interested in. After trying on multiple different wax molds, we were able to pick out a final design and the ring was made in-house and ready to pick up only a few weeks later. I have a G-shock watch that requires two batteries. For the last six years the batteries were replaced twice at Cline Jewelers in Edmonds WA. Recently I found that the batteries were dead, no surprise. Since relocating to the Tacoma area Cline Jewelers in Edmonds, WA isn't an easy option as it was when I actually lived IN Edmonds, literally walking down the street to get my batteries changed, and I never had a problem after either of the battery replacements. Thumbs-up to Cline Jewelers, and NOW I know better than to take my watches to anyone else. . ."I'm sorry" 1,000 times. After re-locating to the Tacoma area I ventured out and located another jeweler in Gig Harbor, hoping that they could replace my watch batteries. I called (Using Initials to spare further conflict) VDV jewelers and asked if it was something they could fix. They said that they would be happy to fix it, and so I took my watch to them for the battery replacement. Two days later they called to tell me it was ready for Pick-up. I drove across the Narrows bridge, and picked-up the watch. It seemed to be running nicely as I hoped it would. Two days later after some water exposure, the watch started to show signs of moisture behind the crystal. I contacted VDV and told them about the issue and was told that placing the watch over a lamp would burn off the moisture and that would be that. Well, nobody uses Edison-era incandescent bulbs anymore. . .we aren't neanderthals. Everyone is using LEDs now which dont put out NEAR the same amount of heat, but I digress. The bigger issue wasn't the fact that they wanted me to perform voodoo on my watch to rid myself of the moisture, but the fact that they vehemently denied that anything could permeate the seal, and that they weren't immediate to ask me to bring the watch back to them so they could address the issue. THAT was the real bummer Cline Jewelers, I'm sorry. . .and it will never happen again. read more

I was referred to Cline Jewelers by an estate jeweler to get a ring resized as it wasn't something they did. I spoke with the owner directly. He was impeccable and promised the ring would be done in two days, and it was. When I picked up the ring, it was in a velvet pouch. This is a small jewelry store but I would come back here to purchase from them directly. Parking is limited to street parking or small, infrequent paid lots in the area. read more

I am sure Cline Jewelers are wonderful based on their previous reviews, and they were lovely people when I visited, very kind. However, they really did not take the time to explain much to me and I left extremely confused. I had a necklace I wanted to trade for something different, that was purchased elsewhere. I had been searching for a reputable shop to do this at, and found Cline's buying program online. I have never traded or sold fine jewelry before so I didn't know what to expect. However, upon inspection of my piece, they offered me $84 trade in value or $54 cash, when my piece was purchased originally last year for $750. I was SO confused. I even asked if this was typical and all they said was, "oh yes" and suggested that I hold onto it to see if I changed my mind about it later. So, I went to Shane Co. to ask about this, and they graciously took the time to explain that there are two options for selling or trading fine jewelry: based on the craftsmanship OR based on the gold melt down value. And the latter of the two will be significantly less value compared to the resale price. They also suggested some places there would trade my piece on consignment, which would typically mean they'd be selling the piece as is, and thus taking into account the design and craftsmanship. I would have really appreciated that explanation at Cline, when I was visibly and audibly confused. Anyway, hopefully that explanation will help others before they take a trip to Cline (or another jeweler) to sell or trade something! read more

She helped me throughout the entire process of potentially changing my engagement ring to finally selecting my wedding band (and my fiance's wedding band). Her service was exceptional - she was kind, answered all of my questions and listened to my concerns, did not rush me, laid out all of the options, and most of all, was extremely patient with me even after I changed my mind several times. For my fiance's engagement ring, I wanted to buy from a smaller local jeweler and chose Cline after reading these Yelp reviews. I am very glad that I did as my experience was excellent and in line with what everyone else has been sharing. I worked with Ana who was extremely helpful and professional throughout my entire experience. I had done my research on engagement ring shopping to know the terms/quality scales, etc. but I was really hoping for help on the design as I wanted something perfect without soliciting input from my fiance. Ana had a series of questions that I was able to answer that made it very easy to narrow down the selections to something that would work great for me, making the a somewhat overwhelming process very easy. There was never any pressure on my selection, Ana did an outstanding job of providing excellent options but letting me make all of the decisions, I really appreciated the help I received. To top it all off, I misjudged the ring size a little bit and it ended up a bit too large and Cline resized the ring (on rush order to be ready before a vacation) for free with no hassle at all. I engaged with my fiance's family ring. Then we realized it might be difficult to find perfect wedding band goes with it because engagement ring has interesting curves. We did some research near local jewelers who does custom made works.We checked out probably most of shops in great Seattle area and there were few reason we thought Cline would be the best spot. First, Cline was one of only two places would do Everything in house. From molding to setting diamonds. Few shops were like, "we do this process here then ship out to here to do this process then bring it back to here etc etc". We liked idea that local shop does customer work from very beginning to ending. Second, Kim who helped us entire process was absolutely the best person we consulted from all jewelry shops. She is very knowledgeable and I can tell that she really cares how my engagement ring will look with custom band. When we walked in shop and asked for custom made bands, she was only person who actually gave really good advice about what styles and options i have. No diamonds, small diamonds etc. Also, She was only one actually pull out some examples and let me wear and see how i feel with different sizes of diamonds with my engagement ring. We ended up both got our wedding bands from Cline. Mine is custom made by Cline and my husband's is one of brand ring they carries. When we shop for my husband's band, Kim was very helpful too. Store had many options from Gold to Tungsten. And she was able to give good advise. From shopping around to pick up our rings, we probably visited Cline dozen times last few months. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. I had my wedding set upgraded (center stone upgraded in size and quality) and my bands reset using my original diamonds. I called Cline to ask if they do small jewelry repairs. I had a sentimental piece of jewelry (a necklace chain) that had broken and needed repair. Mindy was very helpful in offering me an appointment to bring my necklace in to be looked at. They meticulously looked at my necklace and recorded where the break was and explained how the chain would be repaired. I went ahead with the repair, was told it would take a week and was given a very fair cost of repair. When my necklace was ready (ahead of schedule) I received a text and made an appointment to pick it up. My necklace was polished and fixed. After wearing it just once, the chain broke again and because Cline took such great care in recording the break before the repair (with measurements and photos) when I brought it back, they offered to fix it again on the spot as the repair person was in the shop. I have my Grandma's platinum wedding ring from the 1930's. It was tiny and the stone needed retipping. Andy helped me with the whole process, really took his time examining the ring and letting me know my options. I really felt like Andy listened to my concerns and did a great job all around. When I came back to try the new size, it was too big and he fixed it for me in a couple of days. It is an art deco style ring and he preserved the details on the band even with the resizing.
