Let me start by saying, if you're like Jub J, and you review everything you experience in life by the unfortunate events that happen, then your life is probably uneventful and you look at everything in a negative light. So no matter what happens, you'll fall short. That's them. Now for the confident people in the world, here's an honest review:
Pastor Ken is a prophecy compared to most modern day Christian pastors, and it reflects in this church. I have been around the block a few times, I have been to gatherings where people stand there like a stick in the mud, during worship where actually showing expression towards their Savior seems out of context. I have had many messages in my lifetime that were stale, like being in a high-school classroom be taught your least favorite subject. I have been to many churches that I think of nothing, learned nothing and have nothing to apply to my life. I simply went, I saw, and I walked out. Nothing new learned, no new information gathered and nothing to bring me closer to Jesus; which is the entire purpose of going to church. The community in these average everyday churches do not reach out for more, they do not do more than what they are asked, they go to church, they go home, they live a mediocre Jesus-life, and they expect to get into heaven for doing nothing more than checking in every Sunday.
I do not believe that the above description is the church Jesus accepted. I believe Jesus accepted the church that does more.
Without Walls church of Mesa AZ, does more. Going to church in general, is a blessing. Let's remember what churches are made up of; broken people. Broken people that realized their faults, and wanted more, that are becoming and doing more.
Without Walls church of Mesa AZ serves worship the way God intended. People move, dance, sway, praise, they aren't afraid to raise their hands, they aren't afraid to move out of their seat, they could care less of what the neighbor next to them is doing. The pastors, speak gold from their mouth in each service; pastor Ken will talk to you, while giving his message, he will explain in detail what the message means, he will give you things to think about, and most of all when you go home and you think about the service, you have things to apply to your life that you never thought of, things that stick with you, the things that God intended you go gather from going to His house.
Without Walls church of Mesa AZ is involved in many different community-helping events. They have the Manna food drive, they have a homeless ministry; where they actually pick up the homeless Sunday morning before church, bring them in and then feed them, they have OCJ children's ministries (helping orphans), they even have OSL (operation solid lives) discipleship programs level 1-5 in classes, for those that are a fan of Jeremy Dirmann of THE ROCK church in Anaheim California, they have infant childcare, children's bible class, junior high and teens, and much more.
This is not a church for everyone. This is a church for people who are called to do more - everyone is called to do more, but not everyone can handle that. There are a million different churches you can go to, and you can learn a whole bunch of nothing. If learning nothing, when you're supposed to be learning of Jesus, is what you're into, then this is not the church for you. But for those of you who are confident in your faith, for those that want more, for those broken that say you're not happy where you are, and you want a church to challenge you; that is Without Walls church in Mesa AZ. Give it a few times, go, relax, keep an open mind and hopefully you see the spark ignite in you that ignited in me. I am no church-going everyday since birth person. I was a broken, ex-addict, who joined this community a few years ago and met some of the most amazing people, made some of the best friends of my life; people just like me. Great churches are constructed of broken people, who Jesus delivered from their pains and shackles, who banded together to form something more. This is that church.
This is about faith. Come visit us on Sunday, Google the church name and find out our gathering times.
2 Corinthians 4:13-14, Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, "I believed, and so I spoke," we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. read more
