I was helping my student with intellectual disability choose a right bra for her while consulting her mother via text message and the rude owner yelled at me that that I can't take a picture and not buying. And that I will be charged. So I told her first of all, I will buy all the bra that we fitted and I'm only waiting for the parents consent before I purchase it. I regret buying from this store. Very dissapointing. Don't go here! Not worth it! Updated: Since I am working as a one on one helper with my student with special needs, we have to go back to the store and ask if we can exchange the other bra into a sports bra. My breast surgeon suggested I go there after a lumpectomy and radiation left me "uneven". 2 saleswomen picked out bras they thought would be good for me. I purchased 2 of the same bras @ $75 each. Nothing special about them. In fact I looked on amazon afterwards and saw them for $62. Anyway, the following day I put one on to wear to work and it was so uncomfortable I was dying and had to take it off. I called the store And asked if I could bring them back. I was told all sales are final and I should bring them in so she could see why they are uncomfortable. I think that when I bought them I should have been told that I would not be able to return or exchange them before the sale was final. I would have walked out without them. I went back today and the owner said that this is a great bra and no one ever complains about them. And that all sales are final. I said but if I had bought them at a department store I would be able to return them. She said that because I'm small busted they probably wouldn't have my size and that I should just cut the stays out of them and the bra will be fine. She had me try on 2 other bras that she picked out to show me that the original bra I purchased was the right bra for me. I walked out of there angry and embarrassed. She made me feel like it was my fault they were uncomfortable. Terrible customer service. I will never go back and I don't recommend you go either. Had great service when shopping but after 6 weeks a bra, broke and they won't replace it or let me return it. I realize that a return should be out of the question but a faulty item should be replaced if broken in a short time. I'm an ex-retail manager and the return/exchange policy isn't acceptable in today's retail. Customer Service is horrible. I went shopping with my mother here. She was convinced by a saleswoman that she needed to buy this bra. After we came home and she thought about it and decided it didnt fit her right and she was really unhappy with it. We went back a few weeks later to see if she could exchange it for credit. They said all sales final, they wouldnt do anything for her. The woman was a complete bitch saying she couldnt sell it because she only stores 1 of each size and style. If I could leave no stars I would. I went here years ago looking for a larger size bra that they don't sell at a store like Victoria secret. I was told there is a consultation fee if I wasn't serious about purchasing a bra. Just because I am a younger woman doesn't mean I'm not serious. Long story short I purchase a freya bra for $90. About 2-3 months later the straps frayed and the bra was no longer useable. I brought it back to complain, because for $90 with proper care, you would expect the bra to last a little longer. The woman behind the counter pretty much told me there's nothing she can do. I later find out, they sell the same exact bra at Nordstroms for $60. So over priced .... more like robbed. Fast forward a few years to this week, I am now desperately shopping for a corset type bra for a wedding dress. Again I know it's difficult to find my size in the stores, I searched for hours online for actual place to go into and try the bras on with not much luck. Even though I told myself I would never go back to the WOB after my first experience. I was desperate. So I thought I'd give it a try once more. I walked in and explained what I was looking for and the desired size. I thought it was going well....Until the woman brought out a corset and told me it was the only one they had near my size. I then questioned the size and the woman was hesitant about telling me. She was insisting on me trying it on. I was feeling a little skeptical so I asked the size again and the woman responded freshly with questions -- are you seriously looking to purchase? Or just looking around? Because if so I charge a $45 consultation fee. With that it made me feel very uncomfortable about even considering a purchase or trying on the corset. For starters I wasn't asked a desired color, it was ivory, I needed white. But I figured I'll try it on to see the fit and sizing. After beginning to feel uncomfortable I noticed the size of the bra, which was 3 band sizes smaller than I requested and 3 cup sizes smaller. So I told the woman to forget it, it is not truly what I was looking for and I didn't want to waste her time. I wanted something more Lacey, not satin and in white. With that I started to head towards the front/exit. The woman then raised her voice and with an attitude said "GOOD LUCK BECAUSE THEY DON'T MAKE THEM" this comment was #1 false #2 unprofessional. Over all the experience was awful and uncomfortable. Now this was the second time I've had a bad experience here, so I felt a review was necessary. Like another review stated sometimes this can be a difficult journey for women with larger breast and being a store that specializes in larger sizes bras you would expect them to be kinder and more welcoming. Bottom line is I wouldn't step foot in this store if it was the last bra store left on earth. I immediately texted all of my girlfriends and told them of my experience and not to ever waste their time going there. If you're looking for a pretty corset for your wedding or even bras of larger sizes try bare necessities online. They're easy to deal with and have a great return policy. And ironically I've seen her at the Wacoal warehouse sale where the bras range from $10-20 at most regardless of size, purchasing as much as she possibly can...she makes you think she's helping you when she's really robbing you. read more

I had been to this store many years ago, bringing my daughters who needed expert fitting. Now I was coming back with my younger daughter needing nursing bras. I was a bit concerned after reading so many negative reviews. My experiences in the past were always positive. When we entered, both the owner and saleswoman Patti pleasantly greeted us. They made my daughter feel very comfortable bringing several nursing bras of different band and cup size. They know their stock and they are good at figuring out what will fit. Both worked hard getting the right bra. We only bought one, as they suggested since her size may change after the baby is born in a few weeks. The experience was pleasant and helpful. Some good things, some not so good things. I have shopped here over 10 years time. I went through health problems that caused some insane weight fluctuations and my breasts shape was effected. I know I'm going to pay full crazy retail (HOW MUCH?!!) but when I need a good bra I had always felt I could come here. On more than one occasion a staff member did not make me feel great about shopping there (helping me should not include big sighs of air, as if the customer wasn't the main reason you were there in the first place). Other FYI: The store is tight on space, so they are not happy to see little ones come with mommy. Their policies are also not customer friendly, the policies are very protective of the stores position. I know small operations are often this way. I was always aware that they had a NO RETURN Policy. What I did *not* know, and what I never recall anyone saying, is that they will charge a fee for "fitting" if you don't buy a bra. So how would I know? I always bought a least one bra, usually more. I was usually in and out in decent time. There was just the one time when I wasn't comfortable with anything I tried on. That was when I was advised of a fitting fee. I was pretty insulted. I'm a regular customer but unlike a local bar or store you don't see me every other week! Screw that- I tried on other bras, went through the racks and eventually settled on an "OK" bra. So you need to be SURE you want to shop there because you are going to pay for the privilege of being measured. And you need to be SURE you want the item, because you can't return it. I have been back because I don't need to shop for bras that often, the ease of parking by the shop is preferable to a mall and I like to support local businesses (even when the proprietor or staff temperament can be variable). I have been a customer at this store for many years. On more than one occasion, I have spent over $200 on various undergarments. I recently visited this shop because of their annual sidewalk sale. When I entered, I said hello to the owner and showed her some undergarments that I brought with me; I asked if she had something similar. She did. Then, I went about looking at all of the sale items and picked out quite a few undergarments. When it came time to check out, I realized that I may have been spending too much for my budget. I simply asked the cashier to remove one bra from my purchase pile, as I really did not need that particular color. The owner, Lori embarrassed me in front of her entire staff and customers. She said that I had to purchase this particular item because she brought it to me from the back. It was not a sale item. She considered it a fitting. I did not consider it a fitting, because she guessed my size. She did not take time to measure me. I did not take a lot of her time when she brought me this one particular item. What I don't understand is why she would embarrass a long-standing customer. She yelled that if I did not purchase this particular bra that was $79 . She would charge me an additional $55 for a fitting. I never heard of anything so ridiculous. Especially from a local customer. Lori and her cashier both acted inappropriately. I will not return to the store and I have told several friends that live in Bergen County they should do the same. They are overpriced, rude, and quite frankly I think they behaved like bullies. I am annoyed at myself, because of my embarrassment, I purchased everything. Shame on me. In reply to the owner 's response below, I can only say that when I walked in the store, she certainly knew me as a past customer and welcomed me as such. In addition, all customers were inside the store due to the poor weather conditions. I did not try on any sale items, I followed the store policy. I bought them on faith. I don't have a sneaky bone in my body. I simply changed my mind about my final purchase due to the cost of the entire purchase; and mainly because I really needed the non-sale item in black, and not beige. It had nothing to do with what was a sales item, and what was not. If you recall, I bought an undergarment that was not on sale for quite a bit of money as well. A customer has the right to change his/her mind at the time of purchase. I was not sneaky at all...when the cashier tallied up the final cost, I decided to simply put one item back and the beige bra is what I needed least in my wardrobe. Nothing was covert. I went in expecting a fight after buying an $80 bra, bringing it home and it being very uncomfortable after 5 minutes--and recalling the "no returns" signs all over the place. To my surprise they took it right back (I returned it with the receipt within an hour of purchasing it) and had me try another 6 or so until we were all happy. A very pleasant experience. I only took away a star because their prices are through the roof--even though I understand why. Plus when I asked to use the ladies room the first time I was in there, they said they didn't have one. With this clientele (all females probably mostly middle-aged) and this price point? Really? One day later--I probably should add that last star back--my husband of 33 years said I looked like I had a boob job in my new bra! read more

Let me start out by saying this: I am a big woman. Buying a bra in my size (44I/J) is not only difficult, it can be a psychologically traumatic event. In the past, I have dealt with rude comments--whether it was about my breast size, my weight, or the way I looked--from salespeople at other bra/lingerie establishments. That is not the case here. They are always respectful. I have been going to WOB since I needed a strapless bra for my wedding gown over 15 years ago. While I live in Sussex County, I am willing to make the hour long drive to River Edge as I have never once had a bad experience here. The saleswomen were always respectful and never made any derogatory comments or remarks so I do not feel ashamed when I go to buy a bra here. They do carry a large selection in my size, which to me is impressive as I am very picky about the type of bra I wear. They have always been able to find a bra that I'm happy with. Plus, if they don't have the specific color I want, they are willing to order one for me and have it shipped so I don't have to drive all the way out there again. On this most recent visit, the saleswoman (Gabby, I think) was very nice. While I thought that the bra I was wearing was discontinued, she managed to find one that was in my size. She also brought me a different bra to try as well and that one turned out to be even more comfortable. When you are dealing in my bra size comfort is a big factor! After changing the size for a better fit, I ended up buying that one. Yes, WOB is pricey, but you are paying for service. They can pretty accurately tell your size just by looking at you and then make any necessary adjustment for a better fit. They do try their best to make sure you get a good fit, which to me is the most important thing as sagging is a common problem with large boobs. Also, they have helped me understand what to look for in a good bra and a good fit, which I love. As my weight is constantly fluctuating, I am forced to get resized every couple of years, so buying online is not an option as I am never happy with the results. While there are supposed to be industry standards when it comes to sizing, the styling of certain bras make finding a good fit on your own almost impossible. This is why I take the hour to drive here and am willing to pay a bit more. I'd rather have a good bra that fits well than deal with the hassle of rude staff or a poorly fitting bra. read more

Well here goes my review I have been in search of a bathing suit that fits right. The salesperson was very nice helpful but I wasnt satisfied. I also had her fit for a bra just out if curiosity. So I asked to hold bathing suit it's an expensive purchase and I like it but dont love it. Here's the review part though my salesperson was very nice the woman at front desk was blatantly rude to my husband. He was asked if he wanted a chair which I thought was nice but I didn't realize when I walked in other side of store the woman at desk told him dont move from front of store and go near dressing rooms! Really? Does he look like a child? We were the only people there and he would never walk near the dressing room. I have shopped with him in many stores and never heard someone be rude like this. I must say that while I did have a semi-positive experience at the location with the ladies there, my interaction over the phone with a gentleman over the phone left a less than stellar impression. I was truly skeptical about going in the first place because of the negative feedback but I went anyway, and I really didn't have bad experience. I came in looking for a bra to fit underneath my wedding dress for a bridal fitting that same day. I didn't bring the dress because it was still at the store but I showed the ladies pictures of what it looked like so that we could get an idea of what was needed. I tried on a few things and there was a bra that fit pretty good. I ended up purchasing what was recommended but unfortunately, later that day, I went to my bridal dress fitting and the bra showed completely over the dress but by that time the store had already closed. I called over the next morning to see if I could bring my wedding dress in to exchange the bra for something that would work and the gentleman over the phone was beyond rude. Being from NY I can handle rudeness, but what bothered the most was that I was in this store no less than 24 hours prior and was not only being told an exchange of product would not be accepted but I was also told it was a sanitary issue considering I "could be a dirty person". It was beyond hurtful. I spent $300 in this store on an item I cannot use AND was called dirty for asking to exchange an item I never wore. While my sales experience was just ok; this gentleman's lack of empathy and customer service skills in handling situations like mine is truly disgusting. I would never talk to any of my clients in that fashion. I can understand that not every customer can be accommodated, but they should really have a better way of handling issues instead of very nonchalantly insulting their customers. The staff and service at WOB is exceptional. Each of the sales ladies are knowledgeable and extremely patient. They do not try to sell you a bra that does not fit or that does not look great and feel comfortable. I have had three great experiences here in the past 6 months. First I needed a strapless bra for a LBD I was planning to wear. The sales rep offered several different options and helped me select the one that not only fit best, and provided support and coverage. I recently returned with a good friend who had not purchased new bras for over 4 years. She left with 6 bras in a style that fit and were lovely to boot. Again, the sales staff were knowledgeable and offered several different options. Just this past Saturday, I brought my 88 year old aunt to WOB. She had almost given up wearing a bra because she could not find anyone who could fit her properly. As expected, she left with 5 perfectly fitted, age appropriate and extremely comfortable bras. Make an appointment to go to Nordstrom's. I did and was fit by a woman who was a certified specialist in fitting bras for women who have had breast cancer. She was wonderful, kind and caring and found pretty bras that I would not need a prosthesis for and makes my breasts look normal. RIP OFF!!! You are either paying a $45 "fitting fee" or a $30+ upcharge on a bra. I came into the store with my girlfriend the other day to get a bra. The sales person gave her a warm welcome and started sizing her up. After less than 2 mins,she then gave her a few bras to try on. After trying all of them on, NONE of them fit her properly. She told the sales person that she wasn't interested in purchasing. She then responded that we would be responsible for a the $45 FITTING FEE, which was never mentioned until that moment. She then pointed to a sign that was easily missed by both of us. We decided to buy a bra than waste $45 for nothing. After we got home, we compared the prices online. All of the bras that she tried on were $30 less than at WOB but of course there is NO RETURN/EXCHANGES. So whether you purchase a bra or not, they will find a way to rip you off. It used to be a fitting fee which I was never fitted. Anyway, I was in disbelief and shocked! I have never in all the years shopping here, been told I needed to pay a fee for not purchasing something. Are you insane!? Why,cause people can go online and purchase the bra for the correct price not the jacked up price they make you pay. Everything is marked up an extra $20 or more. Right there, their expertise and consulting fee is added to the bra price, but that isn't good enough for them. I told her I have been a long standing customer. This was my first visit to a bra specialty shop and being a plus size, I was quite anxious about the whole process of being fitted. The salesperson was nice, however she sold me a bra that is for sleep/leisure. Because I didn't know the difference in types of bras, I just thought/think I'm hopelessly saggy. I think I've found a much better bra with support online (for half the price of what the store charges). Also, I needed one black and one white bra. Because the WOB store didn't have a white bra in the style/size I wanted, the salesperson gave me one in the right style but one size smaller (insisting that the size difference didn't matter). They aren't what I asked for These were for my nieces wedding dress . She is a amputee and standing there waiting for the correct item was ridiculous . We had drove down to the store which is approx 45 mins away and I was so taken back by the courtesy of the staff and the selection..It was overwelming the sales woman Karen new exactly how to assists us and had the patients of a saint. This store is incompetent at helping people in a respectful manner. Ive been reading most of the reviews made by others and they are a 100%, if you want bad customer service come here. Also replies from the owner from the store are made up and untrue. I was with one of these customers that made a review and the reply made by the owner was false, she is trying to cover up the discourteous actions of the employees. Fabulous place. Had gone to several department stores for a strapless bra underneath my gown for my stepsons wedding. Was not happy with them. This place is so close that I walked. Unbelievable service. Fantastic. She had me fitted with a very comfortable strapless bra in about ten minutes. Highly recommend. Very knowledgeable staff and owner. Will be back for regular bras now. read more
