Decided to try this one again BIG mistake was worse than last time! Stopped by for lunch on Saturday was told lunch specials or lunch plates were not available on weekends have to order off the dinner menu even at noon on Saturday. Ok so we do that only to receive the lunch size portion when the food arrives I guess since it was noon the chef and I use that term very loosely must have thought it was a lunch size portion- when I asked the server he became nervous knowing full well what had happened but didn't own up to the mistake. Didn't matter anyway since the food was so so salty it was inedible so in this case it was a good Thing since it was less waste since we couldn't eat it. Best way to describe it was pouring a jar of salt right on top of the beef and broccoli. Husband's sweet and sour chicken while it was white meat tasted of old stale oil. Only decent thing was the soup at the beginning. Rice was dried up and the egg roll tasted sour/ that was discarded as well. Final straw was the bathroom was totally disgusting. Do yourself a favor skip this place we will NEVER be back. read more

I've been coming here for years. Good parking. Clean place. Better for call ahead pickup. The table service though is just.. i I can't do it anymore. There's one server, who is also the cashier and answers the phone, but she cannot do everything. Service is slow. The orders are often not right. They keep raising the prices. (eg $17 for chicken and broccoli with soup and salad) Portions are getting smaller. The hot food tastes old, like it's been sitting in a warmer for awhile. The dining room needs a refresh, a makeover, some music or something. It's one of the few sit down Asian restaurants in the area and it used to be so good and affordable, so it pains me to write this. It's just too expensive and it's not worth it anymore. read more

What was once a good place for sushi is no longer. I ordered a Sushi lunch and two rolls for take out. I only work a mile down the road and was back in 5 minutes. The sushi was warm and the rolls became undone leaving rice all over the tray. The sushi lunch included 6 pieces of sushi and one California roll. Of the six pieces, two were imitation crab sticks. Not one but two. With lots of options around for sushi, Wok and Roll will no longer be on my list. read more

Great place for Chinese food. Came from Queens where there were plenty of Chinese take out places and this one is as close to them, quality wise. Excellent and prompt waiter service, For 14 bucks, I get an entree with rice and an apetitizer. Not bad. Most people order take out or delivery and so, plenty of available tables. They will make up an vegetarian entree which they did for me. Food is good and ambiance is good too. BYOB But no liquor store in this mall and so buy it before you arrive. read more

I forgot the total (def $25+) but rather than rounding off to the nearest dollar, I walked out with .87 in change. No biggie I guess. Overall I've had better experiences with Wok and Roll. We order Chinese food a month ago and the food was just okay. Tonight we ordered sushi and chicken pad Thai. Sushi was good but the pad thai had no flavor to it at all. All it tasted like was a bland lo mein. It also was not the noodles you'd typically see in a pad thai dish. This res has changed significantly since the day it opened. Their sizes have decreased but prices have increased. Now they've taken to charging 75 cents on already naturally gluten free items like salmon, tuna, and shrimp rolls which contain only rice, fish, and seaweed wrap and for the extra charge they don't even include gluten free sully sauce! I really wanted to like this place. It's close to where we live and it's run by the same people that own one of my favorite, fast food Chinese places. Sadly, I just couldn't. Let's start with what was good. The decor was tasteful, for a Chinese restaurant in NJ. No giant murals of the Asian countryside. The dining room was clean and had decent music at a reasonable level. The tea was hot and delicious. Now, for the rest of the story. I ordered a standby for any Chinese restaurant: General Tso's chicken. Not too creative, I'll grant you, but I like it. Plus, it's pretty hard to mess up. Yeah, not so much. 1. Ordered it, "Extra spicy; just as hot as you can make it." Waiter acknowledge my request. When I tasted it, all I could discern was a mildly sweet, plum like sauce, with the distinct taste of oil that was used too long and heated too high. 2. The chicken was rather tough and stringy. Breading was thick and added nothing to the dish. No flavor and the texture was reminiscent of raw dough. 3. There were a total of five, over cooked, bits of broccoli. 4. The serving was enormous, but the presentation was the, "use a ladle and dump it on the plate" school of culinary arts. 5. The staff was unfriendly. I don't expect to be greeted like a long lost brother, but a smile or greeting other than, "Two?" would be nice. As we left, no one so much as made eye contact with us in a place where the staff outnumbered the diners by two to one. I might put up with this at a dingy, fast food place, but if they're going to charge full service dining prices, I expect better. We will not be returning. read more

What had once been a very good place is now a nice looking place that got me sick. Had friends over last night and we decided to get Chinese take out. My husband came back with the bag and I thought that he forgot half of the order. I had plenty of time to study them, as I had to wait at the front desk which doubled as a hostess stand almost five minutes, practically begging for a table. Finally, I was seated, and saw a tabletop display listing other routine "daily specials," again with no prices. This is an old restaurant trick which plays off patrons' being too polite to ask the price, only to be socked with a big bill: If it's a "special" for "Grand Marnier Chicken" why hide your price? So, after flagging down my inattentive waiter at my postage stamp-sized table, I order the so-called "sweet and sour pork;" and boy, was THAT a mistake! Now, I've been both enjoying and cooking sweet-and-sour dishes for almost four decades, and each time it came with chunks of pineapple... But not last night. Instead, I received a small serving of what looked like plain heavily batter dipped frozen pork nuggets like you'd buy at Costco, and a shallow-filled bowl of warm sweet-and-sour sauce with a side of rice... And that's it. Oh, and did I mention my waiter was inattentive? Yes, he opened the bottle of Guinness I brought, but he didn't even bring any water, let alone offer tea, and I had to flag him down twice to get chopsticks.
