We've ordered from here a few times, first time it was take out, and a top from the squeeze bottle was in my sisters food. We were offered credit. Second time we ate in, good experience, good food, wasn't too busy so we were in good shape. Third time was with my in-laws, didn't look busy but the wait for food was long. The food was ok, but they messed up my father in laws order, they fixed it, then my son wanted ice cream, it was freezer burnt and he didn't like it and didnt want anything else. They didnt take it off the bill and they charged for every little extra. My father in law told them he will not be coming back. We live very close and haven't eaten there in quite a while so we decided tonight we wanted something different, I reminded my husband, "Hey what about Wok and Roll, its been a while since your dad was mad about 2 years ago." Ok sure, we pull up the menu online, we get some sushi and some of my husbands other favorite dishes so he has lunch for the next few days. Sesame chicken was great, but you can tell MSG is definitely the star of the show, Hubs is instantly tired and complaining of it tasting salty. My sushi, yellowtail tuna, looked off color on some of the ends, I saw this after my second bite was fishy and I pulled it apart to see whats up... yeah Im good on that. I stopped cooking because of this place! Due to a plethora of health problems (I'll spare you), I'm gluten, dairy, salt, msg, and white sugar/starch free. What's left? Lots, in the Wok 'n Roll kitchen! The food is always fresh, proteins are high quality, and the sauces are NOT some congealed slime that haunts for days as found in much of the "competition". These folks have bent over backwards to help me. Do they ever make mistakes? Sure, but who doesn't? They are most humble and accommodating when approached with issues. They DO care, especially when their patrons are not nasty nor entitled. Let's face it, doing business in Jackson is difficult. If we want quality places like Wok 'n Roll to have a chance survival, we have our part to play in their success. Unless I place my order in the midst of pickup rush onslaught time, my food is always ready within 15 minutes of calling. Just stop in for lunch and order some sushi and lunch. First the California roll and the Dragon roll was amazing. Next comes the miso soup and it was real good. After, I order the chicken and broccoli with white rice. The chicken was well done and the broccolis were soft and well done. The meal comes with equal proportion and overall it was really tasty. This is my favorite place in Jackson. Not only they can do most menu in Gluten Free, all they food are prepare fresh daily. I been going here since they open and have noticed the food are better than before. They have so many good dishes, Thai, Japanese and Chinese food. They always have new sushi appetizer and new roll. I wish they at least had a description for each dish and maybe even a picture on the online menu. Or they should post a picture of the actual store menu on their website. People may have no idea what moo goo gai pan is (I don't!). Pretty disappointing. But we aren't local so we won't be back no matter what.
