I recently went to Flaming Grill & Supreme Buffet and honestly, it was such a solid food experience, especially compared to my last visit to Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet. Sometimes you really just have to stick with the basics. The seafood here was fresh, which made all the difference. The seafood boil was flavorful and actually tasted like it was made right, not just sitting out. And the crabs? Fresh, seasoned well, and worth going back up for more. Everything felt consistent and satisfying, not overly fancy, just good food done right. After trying newer buffet spots that try to do too much, this reminded me that simple, fresh, and well-prepared always wins. I've been consistently impressed with the amount of semi-fresh seafood options at Flaming Grill. Just take a look at the plate I started off with last time I went: clams on the half shell, shell-on shrimp cocktail, and a squid salad. I admittedly tried every type of sushi roll and came away liking them all. As far as a fish buffet, Flaming Grill is surprisingly adequate and fills in a void that's missing post-Covid. I believe that they're one of the last traditional buffets left in the state, and possibly even on the East Coast. However, the meat options are very much so hit-or-miss. I still find the beef brisket and any types of beef dishes to be unpalatable. The Orange Chicken-type dishes also seem to be packaged, processed and probably reheated. The chicken wings have a yellow sheen, but they've been like this every time I've visited so it's just the product they're using. They do have a hibachi grill in the back, which is their saving grace as they will prepare all types of meats fresh for patrons. The desserts are all okay too, with the amount of fresh fruit available being another saving grace. I found the soft-serve ice cream out of the machine in the back to be unpalatable, but they also have packaged ice creams available. Service is fine, clearing dishes occasionally and asking about refills, and the atmosphere is slightly dingy but still modern enough for the buffet. I'm surprised at how much foot traffic they get, but I suppose that's the only way to sustain a buffet especially at a sub-$20 price point. I'm grateful to have Flaming Grlll as an option for a solid buffet in town, and it can be possible to put together a couple of relatively healthy plates. read more

There was large selection of dishes. All were fresh and hot. The fried chicken wings were dark brown indicating the cooking oil is old. Everything else was tasty. This place is a train wreck of a mess. The food has gone so far downhill. Quality is awful. We stopped coming as frequent as we use to. Problem being we are always right here in the area. So lunch comes we want to eat and this was (past tense) my wife's favorite place. But with the food gone, its NOT worth it to us. THEN.... The ownership has started giving issue with the stamping of the frequent buyer cards. We never had any issue with their cards and the last two times she has been unbelievably rude and downright nasty. Last time she was on the phone and stamped over an already stamped spot. She then played a game making believe she didnt understand what I said. This time (today) she stamped a fourth spot when I was up to #9. She got really nasty and was completely lying about it. Why have the card if you're going to scam your customers over it. Been going here over 7 years and last two times we had this with the card. It's really a disgrace that this place has fallen so far downhill. Lesson learned, keep your food and your card. Horrible! read more

How is this place still open? We were shopping in the plaza late afternoon and decided to grab early dinner so we wouldn't have to cook. Saw the buffet and decided to try it. Had been there many years ago and it was ok. No longer. Bedsides the fact that the entire place needs a full Reno ( floors, torn booths, broken equipment ) the food was inedible. Most pans were 1/2 full at best and congealed. It was obvious most had been there all day. I stuck with the fried rice and noodles as they looked the "newest" . I tried a little of some of the steak and pepper and chicken and broccoli but it was cold and hard. I wouldn't have touched the seafood on a bet. Even the employees made the place seem like it was rundown. Ate a little bit and got out. I can't understand ANY of the good reviews. They have to be friends of the owners or maybe the sushi, which I did not have, is good. I can tell you after 30 years in the restaurant business there are ZERO food safety protocols being followed. I always enjoy the food here, but I will say this place desperately needs a remodel. Most of the Chinese buffets I've been to have had a slight dinginess to them, but this place takes that to a new level. The booths are practically falling apart and a terrible draft if you're sat in one next to a window. As I've said, I've yet to have a bad meal here though and so I keep coming back. Chinese buffet Mac n cheese is usually borderline inedible, but it's actually not bad here compared to the rest of them I've tried. They also have 2 different fried rices here too which I love! I am so torn on writing this review, mainly because the negatives certainly should not happen. Arrived at 8pm. Mini-Me, her friend and I were seated to the dining area to the far right of the buffet. We gave our beverage order and the girls left to go get food. 1. There were kids behind the sushi area, using the microwave to melt marshmallows. 2. There was zero fresh sushi out, like, tuna or octopus, shrimp, squid etc. 3. The rolls that were out, looked a bit dry and not really tempting. 4. As I headed to the hot tray area, most were empty or being pulled to kitchen. 5. The salad area, had empty bowls and was being cleaned out. When I asked what time they closed, thinking, maybe I misread the hours, the waitress said 10pm. SO, why at 8:30pm, when people are still coming in, like families are you removing food or not at least puting out fresher looking?? Anyway, muscles were gummy, crawdad salty, the fried mini crabs, so salty inedible. I did ask the sushi cheft to make some tuna sushi which he did, but it was kinda brown on the edges. I have been searching for an all you can eat sushi place since moving to the area from NY. I had hopes after reading some of the reviews but ended up being terribly disappointed. The only edible pieces of sushi were the kani (I guess there's not much you can do to mess up fake crab.) The salmon and spicy tuna tasted off. If this had been my first time trying sushi l, I honestly would never want to try it again. As for the "hot" buffet, as others have said, the food was only lukewarm. The spring rolls and egg rolls were the only decent thing I tried, but they would have been much more appealing if they had been warmer. The steak pieces were so dry they were inedible. Whether I'm staying in Point Pleasant or Seaside, I ALWAYS come to this buffet. I was just in Point Pleasant this past weekend and went Friday and Sunday. I'm from North Jersey so, to me, the pricing is cheap and the sushi is amazing. I literally only go for the sushi although I have had the other food and it's good but... I'm a sushi fanatic. I really enjoyed their fried shrimp too. I tried the hibachi station this past summer and I enjoyed that as well. There are a lot of options to choose from. We went yesterday for lunch and there was two of us and it cost 24.95 ...it was worth it!!

The food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the combo platter consisting of General Tao's Chicken, ibachi Chicken and Chicken on a stick. He also had vegetable lo mein. All were so delicious. They had you wear your mask when you went up to the buffet which I thought was smart although it was self serve and you didn't need to wear gloves, which was fine. Last night was my first time coming back since due to the pandemic I was afraid to eat out at buffets. However, I was relieved that it was not packed. They spaced people a decent amount . They provided gloves to serve yourself food and keep track on how many people are inside . I loved the food and the waitress brought my drink without ice just like I asked . I cannot drink anything cold or my chest will tighten up due to my asthma . I am glad they are following Covid guidelines . Flaming Grill Buffet is pretty great overall. The pricing is very fair. The staff has always been very friendly to me. There is a very wide selection of food. I was impressed with the variety of sushi that they offer, but I will note that sometimes the sushi rice was a bit dry. The Hibachi grill is definitely a big plus, and the Hibachi chefs are usually fast and efficient. The food is usually hot/warm and seems to be replaced frequently. The dessert options are great as they include a soft serve ice cream machine and a chocolate foundation. I would recommend this buffet to anyone in the area read more

Came here for lunch around 1:30 on a Friday. It wasn't too busy and the sushi and food still tasted fresh. I would usually rate buffet sushi based on their tempura sushi and it was still crunchy opposed to tasting soggy (when you know it's been out for a while). I didn't try their hibachi because I was already too full but I liked how they arranged the selections of food. I would recommend to take a walk through of all the sections of food because it's so easy to overlook. Overall, I think the eating area was clean and well organized. Covid has nothing to do with cold , stale food. I filled my plate went to my table, took 3 bites and almost gagged. I would of left if I didn't have my handicapped brother with me. This is a long awaited buffet for this town. We have not had a decent one here in a long time. The last good one was too pricy with price going over $20 per person. So, the family and my dad who came down to make a visit to the buffet. I love to eat and I like going to a good buffet. No, I am not big, but told that I am skinny. Yes, I can pack in some food. But, I digress here. We were expecting a lot of people as this is a new place in town and sure enough, the place was packed. Still, we were sitted right away and there were few empty tables as more people were coming in. There were several islands including fresh sushi, hibachi station, ice cream cups and ice cream bars. As I walked around to check the type and the condition of the foods available. I've noticed most of the food trays were full and they looked fresh. Thinking of my last buffet experience at Seattle, which was horrible. I was pleasantly surprised with so many people occupying the place. I am almost a creature of habit when it comes to a Chinese buffet and eat basically same thing every where. Avoid fried food as much as possible. As for the food itself, I have to admit they were all pretty good and the sushi were good also. The service was quick, considering again amount of people in there. I didn't get to try many of the dishes or the hibachi, which gives me a reason to go back and try those. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely! I have been here twice, both weekday nights. The second time was better than the first. I love sushi and was happy to see how colorful and fresh it looked. I didn't particularly love the way it tasted, though. Can't put my finger on it, but I wasn't a huge fan. There is a decent selection of standard Chinese buffet fare. They have hibachi chicken, steak and vegetables they make on the hibachi grill and then put into the buffet - very yummy. The made-to-order hibachi grill towards the back is the best part. They don't have water chestnuts, though. Boo! I'm absolutely happy with the desert choices. Fresh cakes and cookies, but also individually packaged ice cream bars and Dixie cups. So much better than the sloppy and gross scoop-yer-own ice cream at most buffets. All in all, it's take it or leave it. If you go on knowing the expectation level is just ok, you'll enjoy yourself. For $12, it's not bad. The second time I went, I went with a large group (~20). They split our checks without asking and there were no issues. My boyfriend and I came here for Valentines' Day. It was our first visit and the buffet price was jacked up because it was (a) a holiday, (b) a weekend, (c) crab legs were included in the buffet. We also came late, maybe an hour before closing? Maybe even later? The food was okay on that visit, but lackluster and not worth the extra money on top of the already kinda pricy regular fare. But, lo and behold, our second visit on a nondescript Wednesday evening (6:30 pm maybe?) was much, much better. Our second visit was great! A moderately full dining room, but the food was constantly being refreshed and it all tasted great. The sushi was on point and the hibachi chef was pretty cool. They have a great selection, even for me being as I do not eat meat (but I do indulge in seafood). The salads were fresh and crisp (which is rare at a buffet in my experience). The desserts tasted like real food and the little Hershey's cups were delightful. The hibachi selection was fairly vast with a bunch of veggies, meats, and stuff. Wish the price was a little lower, but I'm willing to pay it as it is certainly the best buffet in the area.
