    Looked better than it was.
    SuzAnne S.

I am so torn on writing this review, mainly because the negatives certainly should not happen. Arrived at 8pm. Mini-Me, her friend and I were seated to the dining area to the far right of the buffet. We gave our beverage order and the girls left to go get food. 1. There were kids behind the sushi area, using the microwave to melt marshmallows. 2. There was zero fresh sushi out, like, tuna or octopus, shrimp, squid etc. 3. The rolls that were out, looked a bit dry and not really tempting. 4. As I headed to the hot tray area, most were empty or being pulled to kitchen. 5. The salad area, had empty bowls and was being cleaned out. When I asked what time they closed, thinking, maybe I misread the hours, the waitress said 10pm. SO, why at 8:30pm, when people are still coming in, like families are you removing food or not at least puting out fresher looking?? Anyway, muscles were gummy, crawdad salty, the fried mini crabs, so salty inedible. I did ask the sushi cheft to make some tuna sushi which he did, but it was kinda brown on the edges. Soft serve ice creme was good. They offer a 10% ofg coupon when checking in but I used a diff one. I really can't say I would go back, just think it was a good try, but not worth it.

Went to this buffet the other night, it's really a good deal and most of the food is really good. They have something for everyone. Mostly Chinese food but there's other options as well. I enjoyed it all, very delicious. Definitely gotta come back!

What do they do with the meat of the clam? Otherwise I am fully satisfied with the buffet. Many good choices. Reasonable price.

Even the dessert section is pretty impressive, with actual cakes and fresh cookies, instead of the out-of-the-box garbage that's typical for buffets.

I'd order it with a little less gravy next time. Didn't have a burger taste most have. Hard sear , steak Crust with a capital C and double scoop of mashed potatoes. Classy for a dinner with your parent's fancy for a first date. Solid classic spot to keep in the rolodex. Neighborhood spot with its collar popped for a good reason.

Kind, diligent, and a real smile, not a pained phony one that usually passes at so many other places. They make you feel at home. The food is not pretentious. It's attractive, but is served as being just what it is, no frills or hype needed. I stick to the specials usually and they are always top notch. For instance I am nearly always disappointed with prime rib, but here it is wonderful, and always done exactly as you like. A rare thing. Tonight I had grilled halibut, served with a bit of perfectly cooked broccoli and a baked potato. My God! The oysters on half shell are always fresh and delicious, and at $4 each a real bargain. So hard to stop eating them..... Meal comes with a basket of plain little rolls and a plate of cinnamon rolls as well. I'm not a cocktail connoisseur so I can't really compare too well with others, but I have to say the whisky sour I had really sent me - a wonderful taste. All this in a comfortable, dimly lit, homey place unchanged since 1973, with always smiling, mannered (! yes, really) people filling the tables. No reservations, but if you have to wait, no matter. You can sit in the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere of the bar room.

So when we needed a dinner location in the Brick, I figured we would try this location. Upon my early arrival, I was seated in the west facing room with ample natural light. There was only one other table of "early birds" nearby and they were loud but entertaining. Our waitress greeted me and brought some water and an ice bucket. I perused the menu while waiting for my friends. To my delight, this place is MUCH larger than Manahawkin. There are at least three rooms. Regardless, by the time we left, it was very busy. reservations are highly recommended. When my friends arrived, our waitress reviewed the menu additions. We decided on the oysters, octopus, arugula salad and the cod special. Everything was excellent. Service and pace were perfect. Plates promptly cleared, bread replentished. We shared a tiramisu and I had a double expresso. We will definitely return. I will take some photos on my next visit.

The lady I spoke with on the phone said it's a buffet - eat all you can. And then she said they do combo, so I was a little confused but decided to just go there and find out myself. We drove an hour from Atlantic city and I was visiting from California. We stepped inside and found out that they don't have a buffet style but it's ala carte and combo food to go and you can also dine in coz there's table and seats also. My friend and I were in line next to the people ordering their food. When it was our turn, this older lady (server) was helping my friend with her order first, but the lady already got sinigang with rice and asking what else did my friend want. (Both of us were ordering 2 entrees) We were wondering why would she serve sinigang when we didn't order it. So we told the server we didn't order the sinigang. The lady then started acting weird and mean - telling the young lady (also a server) that she heard sinigang. She didn't get back to us abt what we want and didn't even apologize or anything. She just ignored us leaving us hanging and just helping someone else instead. The young lady ended up getting our order instead and she was nice. I was so upset how this older server (maybe she's the owner) made us feel! You have to treat your customers right when you're in business. I was visiting in NJ and drove far to try this Filipino food and she made us very uncomfortable. She's not friendly and very unprofessional and seems like a typical toxic "tita"! I'm sorry but I don't recommend this place. I can cook better. All the foods were served cold because they're just hanging there (display) for the people to buy them. Right after eating, my tummy was hurting a little. 20min later, I had an upset stomach and badly needed the restroom when we got to Costco!

We all ordered the Rodizio and were very happy we did. The hot and cold buffet offered a large selection of salads, vegetables and proteins (including meats!) as well as sides for the main course. We knew enough not to fill up with the carbs to save room for the meats. We would have been happy with just the buffet! The Rodizio came out hot, fast and nonstop. They come out first with chicken and pork, wait for the good stuff! The Pincanha was my favorite, along with the filet mingon and other steaks. The short ribs were chewy (maybe just a bad cut) and the lamb was gamey according to a guest - otherwise excellent. Try the grilled pineapple - very good. We had 3 large bottles of wine turned into sangria to 'die for'. Highly recommended. One thing I did not like was the bill included an automatic 20% tip (fine that's what I usually tip) but added another line for a tip. Maybe it's what they all do now but I believe 20% is generous. How many people didn't realize and tipped 40% by accident! Also strangely, they don't have voicemail, so if you call on a Tuesday (when they are closed) no machine picks up so you think they are out of business. That's a simple fix. I highly recommend Flames Brazilian Steakhouse and although it sounds expensive, it's no more than what you would pay at any other good restaurant. Well done.
