Really enjoyed the Chinese food from here. Called to order takeout and the young man that answered the phone was upbeat, professional, and repeated my order with efficiency. I got to the location and was thrilled to find out I could pick my order through the drive up window. While processing the payment the young man engaged in friendly banter and was quick with the transaction. My husband and I both really liked the hot and sour soup and will definitely order it again! He had the orange chicken and I had the sweet and sour chicken, both of which were very good. The chicken was moist and the fry on it was excellent - not tough like some Chinese chicken can be. I came down to Hillsboro because it's the halfway point to me getting my nephew. First time being here and I got absolutely ravenous so I looked up restaurants and found this place. Saw the reviews but still had some doubts. I ordered the cream cheese rangoons and the broccoli beef. The guy took my order and was really nice about it. I paid and received my food. Man oh man is this so yummy. Both items I got were cookies to perfection just beware when it says plain fried rice they mean plain! No veggies or meat in the fried rice that comes with the plate but it's definitely fresh. Who knew Hillsboro, Texas is home of one of the best Chinese Restaurants around. With a birthday dinner gone awry, my sister and I pulled up to the drive through at Wok Express. We needed to feed 10 people for Nana's birthday dinner. When we asked the best way to order for 10 people, a party tray was suggested. For a $110 dollars we fed 10 people and everyone took home left overs. The sweet and sour chicken was excellent. It wasn't soggy and had a great flavor. We also had the broccoli steak. The vegetables included were fresh and the steak was tender. They gave us a ton of sauce and Nana will have enough fortunate cookies to last her until her next birthday. The person who took our order was very helpful and patient as we tried to figure out what to order. He even brought the order and placed it in the back of the car. Very clean restaurant with nice staff. The food was a good value, I got a lot of food for a cheap price. But the quality was a bit subpar for typical hole in the wall Chinese. I ordered Mongolian Beef. The sauce tasted like it was out of a jar and there was a TON of it, probably to disguise what I think might be the lowest quality beef I've ever eaten. The texture of the beef was like eating mushrooms and it didn't have much flavor. The vegetables were decent quality. I can see myself revisiting and trying a different dish. The food at Wok Express MIGHT be great. However, because of Wok's abysmal service, I wouldn't know how great or horrible their food is. My family and I waited in line for 10+ minutes waiting for our food, but because their service was so ridiculously wretched, we drove off to Sonic instead. Their lady on the drive-thru also waited 2 minutes before answering as well. Terrible service, incompetent employees, and a speed so slow that Kylie Jenner could have had 3 lip injections in that time. I wish I could choose an options for negative stars. read more
