After reading some reviews on here I couldn't believe people actually liked this place. This restaurant must pay yelp a lot of money. Out of the "recommended reviews" they have ten showing and most are four stars or so. I recently found out about the "not recommended reviews". This is the best Chinese food we have ever had. My boyfriend and I have ordered from here several times and have never once been disappointed in a single dish. Delivery is always super fast! We've enjoyed both meat based dishes and vegetarian dishes and love them all. Their Lo mein is amazing!!! read more

OMG I couldn't image my life without their Homestyle Tofu! And YES I have spent THOUSANDS on it over the years.. worth every penny!! Hands-down the BEST Chinese in Gainesville, bar none, especially for vegetarians like me! **READ THIS** Do yourself a favor, and never order from this poor excuse of a "restaurant." My girlfriend and I tried to place an order of 20 dollars worth of food, and the restaurant proceeded to call my girlfriend 5 times in the span of 10 minutes, asking for incredibly personal details. For the first call, the restaurant called my gf then proceeded to hang up saying "wrong number." Then 2 minutes later a different person from the same number called her saying her credit card was expired (which it is not), yet we gave them a different card anyway just hoping to get food at this point, and we were told our order was being prepared. Then a couple more minutes later the manager called her saying ID was required upon delivery. When my gf asked why that was necessary, the manager began to scream at her over the phone in Chinese, and we proceeded to cancel our order. This has been the literal worst ordering experience I've had in my short 20 years of life, do yourself a favor and do not give these slimy people your money. read more

I am utterly surprised that I have yet to review this place! It sounds really strange, but when I go to Gainesville, this is one of the places that I MUST STOP BY. I love the food there, and sure you might look at it and think to yourself, wow this is some pretty generic Americanized Chinese food, but I still think it is amazing. You have to get the dumplings. They are fresh, made to order, and handmade, they put dumplings at other restaurants to shame, and it comes with that I like to call crack sauce. It is very thick dough wrapped around juicy pork. Pathetic attempt at a restaurant. I ordered the General Tso Tofu, it came in massive chunks that were a burden to eat, there was almost no sauce and only one piece of broccoli. I went back to inform them of there shortcomings and they were extremely rude. The (seemingly) 12 year old girl behind the counter insulted me numerous times in front of the owner. Classic american chinese food. Dumplings are awesome. Fast delivery service. Low cost and high quality. No nonsense place that spends its money in the right place-the food. I got food poisoning after eating vegetable fried rice and egg drop soup from Wok N Roll this week. If I had to guess I think they probably cook all of their rice (veggie, chicken, shrimp) on the same grill. The food has always been unimpressive, but now I definitely won't be back. read more

Over the past 2 years as a regular customer I felt the food quality decrease along with a massive change in their service. I actually had stopped ordering due to a miscommunication a few months ago when I ordered a meal and their website accepted my total of 9.94, just to be called and laughed at about the .06 cent difference in their "minimum requirement", and told they refused to send it without adding another item. Which I understand, policies are policies. But as a food service worker for the past 3 years, I would never LAUGH at a customer. I decided to order again this evening because I wanted some decent Chinese food and they do have the best prices for delivery here in Gainesville. Not only does their website not decline you if you're under their requirements but if you have a profile on their site with a saved address and you enter a different one, IT WILL DEFAULT TO YOUR PROFILE SETTING. Not only is this annoying because it sends the driver elsewhere, but then when they call they are not at all understanding. I explained over and over to the driver that the system sent him the address on my profile, not the one I entered and he literally just yelled at me for sending him to the wrong place because "I want to go home, and you sent me to wrong place," then the best part is when they proceeded to harass me about this situation as if it was my fault by sending me a text message to tell me "I am suspended and not allowed to order from them again." Seriously? I can order way better food from any where else here in Gainesville. read more

I've ordered food from this exact place before and had it delivered in the past without any issue, so either they don't deliver anymore or the guy on the other line just didn't want to. I WILL NOT EVER RETURN TO THIS CHINESE TAKE-OUT RESTAURANT! It has not always been this way though. I used to be a regular because they are one of the few places that deliver in Gainesville. One night at about 8 o'clock I ordered my usual sesame chicken with lo mein noodles and crab rangoon. When they delivered everything was fine and I was expecting it to taste good as it always does. However, I opened up my rangoon sauce for the crab rangoon and their was a huge wad of spit in my sauce. I know how to cook and their was no way it was oil it was spit. So my car was in the shop and I had no way to go to the restaurant. Then I called up Wok N Roll and told them and the guy said "what is spit?" I said "the moisture in your mouth" He says, "My mouth is not wet." So I said "may I please speak to the manager?" And can you believe what he says next? "The manager doesn't speak any English?" I am not close-minded or a racist, but how can you own and open a restaurant and not speak English? Needless to say, I will not be returning but they brought my money back an hour later. However, at first the guy told me he would bring me my money after midnight and I said no way or else I will call the police. The guy on the phone was rude and pushy. If I were basing this review on the food I ordered tonight, I would give 4/5 instead of 2/5..BUT this is why: I have been ordering food here infrequently since 2014, that's 3 years. This is the very first time my food tasted FANTASTIC. Here's why: I've found out the key to ordering Chinese food and I am ashamed it took me so long to figure out..I bet you want to know the secret. Ordering from a Chinese restaurant on a Friday night at around 6-7pm, ensures your meal will be fresh. That's when everyone is ordering Chinese for delivery and coming in to eat at the restaurant. On Saturday, you can almost bet that the food they are serving you is now a day old. They make their food in bulk & recycle it throughout the week...of this I am (pretty) sure. I ordered Vegetable Lo Mein and it's never tasted this delicious, the vegetables are crunchy and the noodles are damn good. I also ordered spicy broccoli w brown sauce and it is to die for. I ordered pork fried rice and it's a million times better than it ever was, with that said, the pork is a bit dry. I ordered spring rolls and they are so fresh and delicious, I couldn't complain. The only thing that pissed me off, almost to the core, was that I ordered crunchy noodles $0.50...and they are so stale, I threw them out. That's inexcusable for me..that puts a whole damper on the fabulous meal when they failed at a crunchy $0.50 noodle. So, in summary, order on friday nights only and you will have a great meal!! read more

This place is gross! The first time we found a roach in the bag. We waited and on someone else's recommedation tried them again. There was a squished roach in the rice. Had the worst experience with this place last night. Ordered for delivery. We got a chow mein dish along with other items. Once we sat down to eat, we started to look at everything. It was immediately apparent that the chow mein was wrong (not a single noodle, but rather some stir fried cabbage and A LOT of onion). We called back quickly and tried to explain the order problem. The woman went on the defense right away and stated that chow mein in Gainesville (special food all for us!) isn't like you might find elsewhere. It is rather, onions and cabbage and well, whatever else they can find to stir fry when they run out of noodles. She then lied and told us that it says on the menu that chow mein is stir fried vegetables. We checked the menu for ourselves and it says fried noodles, right underneath the chow mein section. We then asked her, "well what does chow mein mean translated"? We got a bunch of uh, uh, uhs and the a "well, see I don't know because I don't speak Cantonese and it doesn't translate in mandarin". They then refused to redeliver or offer a credit. If you want to just boil right down to the bottom of it, this place is never that good. We've ordered a few times and there's always something a little off. Usually at least one thing will be stale. Sometimes an appetizer is unedible. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Worst customer service I've ever seen. I placed an order online, and it let me select a delivery time of 11:15, which I thought was perfect since they open at 11, and it was well in advance. When I called at 11:40 not having received my order, she told me it was "on the way." The place is less than 4 minutes away. When I called back 20 minutes later to check in, the guy told me there were "many orders" out for delivery at once, and it should be there soon. When I asked if they were going to discount it or do anything since it was more than 40 minutes late, he said no, and if I have a problem, to "not call back ever." I was very polite and understanding, and they were so unbelievably rude, and the food was just average. Especially in Gainesville, where there is ample great chinese food, I won't ever feel the need to go back to this place. read more
