S3. Baby Octopus Special S14. Pork Tangsuyuk

The octopus is super hard to chew, if your not a good chewer order squid. The tangsuyuk fried part is mochi but the pork is dry. Not the best favor tangsuyuk I had out of all the tangsuyuk from other restaurants. If you are ordering tangsuyuk make sure to pair with something refreshing because it might get a little too greasy.

Garlic & Ginger has been around in Gainesville for as long as I've been in Gainesville. So it's good to see them going strong every time I pass through town. Service is solid, with friendly servers that take your order quick and keep your drink glasses and banchan filled. The food itself is solid as well. I got the Beef Bibimbap and they were really generous on the portion sizes. The overall feel of the restaurant is nice and spacious, able to host a decently large group. Overall, solid place that I hope continues to keep going for a long time :)

Garlic and Ginger was Gainesville's very first authentic Korean restaurant that opened in 2011. Before Garlic and Ginger, Korean food in Gainesville was only available from a Korean American-owned Japanese restaurant that made several Korean items. Obviously, choices were very limited, and the quality was not good due to the lack of proper ingredients and cooking methods. Garlic and Ginger was likely one of the iconic establishments that transformed Gainesville's Asian food scene, offering a more authentic representation of cuisine and culture instead of serving Americanized dishes that did not exist in Asian countries. One thing I absolutely appreciate about Garlic and Ginger is its audacity to continue making authentic Korean dishes such as Gopchang Bokkeum (stir-fried beef intestine), Spicy Jokbal (spicy pork trotter), Haemul Jjim (steamed marinated seafood), and Soondae stew (blood sausage stew). Not only are they authentic, but they are also quite good, even for the most critical Asian foodie like me.

We stopped in Gainesville and came across this on yelp so we gave it a try...Great decision.. we had dumplings for starter and they were steamed to perfection..some places over Stam and they get mushy. We also got the pork bowl and it was seasoned perfectly. You should try this place

After a Gators football win, my friends and I went to Garlic & Ginger for a celebratory dinner before we all parted ways. We were STARVING and thought it would be best to get away from the business around the stadium to go eat. We were right: Garlic & Ginger were able to sit and serve us right away when we got to the restaurant. Their staff is efficient and friendly, but also happy to suggest dishes to our hungry group without being pushy or trying to up-sell us. We ordered some beer towers to celebrate our football win. They keep cold and serve about 7 beers for the table. We ordered a Seafood Pancake, which I was not impressed with. It was soggy and came out lukewarm. It is filled with ingredients, but I wasn't pressed to eat it. The Beef Bulgolgi was delicious! The meat was tender and it had just the right amount of sweetness. My favorite dish is the Tteokbokki, or spicy rice cakes. The dish is HUGE and can feed 2-3 easily. There are dumplings and ramen noodles in addition to the rice cakes, and the sauce is sooo delicious! I soaked up every last drop of the sauce. I enjoyed our meal at Garlic & Ginger. I suggest this place for good Korean eats in Titletown, FL.

Love this place! One of my new go to spots for a nice meal. The restaurant always has a nice atmosphere and well done. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is very flavorful and well made. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi and Gyoza for my first visit and I was blown away. I look forward to eating here again!

I've been here a few times, so I guess I can write a review lol. With Rona out, you can either order takeout or dine-in. I opted to dine in because I was the only one dining in. Everyone else who came through ordered takeout. I love the soft tofu soup. I usually add beef, but opted for the intestines on this go round. I'm a good ol' southern country gal and I love chitlins aka chitterlings. These intestines were clean. They had no odor or "that taste"! I love jjajangmyeon, black bean noodles, I ordered that to-go. The food is good and plenty. The owner and staff are nice. I always stop here when I'm in town.

    Seafood pancake

I would gave a 4 star. Had the Jam Bong noodle soup and the seafood pancake. Both were good. Would go back and try other dishes

There aren't a whole lot of options for Korean food in Ocala, so when we found ourselves in Gainesville we sought out some Korean cuisine. The dentist I'm seeing recommended Seoul Pocha so after a late afternoon dental visit in Gainesville, we made it a point so check it out. We got there just after 5 PM, soon after they opened, and there was a couple already sitting down ready to order. After my wife and I checked out the menu, we soon realized there are menu items we typically don't see outside of So Cal and Korea, namely Bibimbap Dolsot and Kimchee Pancake...so that's what we ordered. I asked the server if they also served Kimbap since it wasn't on the menu but I was told no. The Bibimbap Dolsot was served sizzling hot! It was so hot that I had to wait until I mixed it up with some bibimbap sauce and it cooled down a bit before tasting it. It had good flavors but didn't quite match the taste of the same dish we sampled in Korea and in Koreatown in LA. Interestingly, the bibimbap dolsot served in a restaurant on base in Yongsan, South Korea was one of the best we've had. Seoul Pocha's bibimbap dolsot was still good, but... My wife's kimchi pancake was quite good especially when dipped in that sweet and spicy house made dipping sauce. My wife couldn't finish her dish so we took it home for a snack the next day and it was still yummy. Service was attentive and friendly. It wasn't after we've eaten however, did we realize they didn't serve any banchan, or appetizers, which is typical in most sit down Korean joints. Dinner for 2 with tip came out to just under $46. We'll surely be back.
