Once more it was time to visit Pho House in Gainesville. I have loved this place ever since it opened, and when I go I know I am going to have an excellent meal. This time was no different, and my bowl of pho and summer rolls were top notch. Add to that being able to sit out on the sidewalk while eating, watching people stroll by, is always such a nice experience. The staff have always treated me well there, and this time around was no exception. I will continue to go back to this restaurant, as I find it to be the best pho in town. read more

I ordered Pho Tai, and let me tell you something it was the best tasting broth I have had in a Vietnamese place. I was feeling under the weather and I was feeling better by the time I was done. I could tell that it was made with care as it tasted very similar to my other best club place that is located in Hawaii. Hawaii is known for the best places to eat Asian food. Hawaii makes everything with love. I also ordered an original milk, tea, less sugar and the Boba was perfect! I could actually taste the black tea! Another thing that I noticed is that the Boba was not chewy! It was perfect. Again it is rare to find this! read more

Ordered some Bun Bo Hue for takeout today, but a little bit disappointed in the quality of the takeout. The noodles were pretty overcooked and cut up, and there were barely any toppings. I wish it came with bean sprouts/lime/basil, like when I dined in person. Also the meat was overcooked in the broth, and was all the weird pieces that were hard to chew. Kinda sad because I love this place, but good to know that dining in is much better than ordering takeout. Will dine-in only in the future. read more

Delicious! I was encouraged to see several vegetarian options on the menu. I chose the Bun with fried tofu and tofu spring rolls (best veggie spring rolls I've ever had). The portion size was good. It was loaded with tofu, bean sprouts, and lightly fried onions that were still crispy but did not have a strong onion taste. The sauce was yummy and not fishy-tasting like some other Vietnamese restaurants. The price was acceptable (slightly on the pricey side). Our food came out fairly quickly even though it was a busy Saturday night. My only complaint is that they charged $5.50 for a small side of extra pho noodles and did not give us an itemized bill before checking out. When I asked for one, they showed it to me. Authentic Vietnamese owned restaurant with little dashes of what you'd see back in Vietnam. The plastic water jug to pour water into cups...The pho was great, I think $18 for a pho dat biết is standard pricing, and every bite I had had a piece of beef with it except towards the laat two bites. Best Pho in town! I've been here twice now and both experiences were phenomenal. The staff are super accommodating, and the service is incredibly fast. On top of that the food was excellent both times. They have more than just pho on the menu but I'd highly recommend going for the pho! Great location being downtown and would recommend checking this out on a weekend when theres more going on in the area! read more

I grabbed an extra side of bone broth bc I was getting over the flu and I'm pregnant and it's one of my cravings. The broth wasn't super oily either, which I like! To go packaging was nice and they don't skimp on the toppings. This place was relatively brand new in downtown when I checked it out on a weeknight for dinner with a friend. The service was incredibly attentive, with what seemed like the owner himself frequently coming to our table to check in and ask if we needed anything. We ordered the crispy chicken wings to start and then we each got a bowl of pho. The chicken wings were so perfectly crispy with a sweet chili garlic butter sauce and crumbled peanuts over the top. This weekend was my first time experiencing the food. My family has had food from here and really enjoyed their pho. I had the veggie pho, broth was very light and full of flavor, vegetables were plentiful. Also had the shrimp lo mein and chicken wings sharing this with my family. This place replaced Prum's Kitchen, a Cambodian spot. I was really sad to see them go but I am so happy they took over the spot! The owner's of this place used to own Bagels and Noodles on University (it's no longer there). The pho is amazing!! Great for cold nights or when you want something warm. The beef broth is amazing. I don't eat pork but my friend who had the Spicy pho bowl with pork broth said it was delicious! I had the Deluxe Beef Pho, and it truly is deluxe! The service is amazing! Seated quickly and you get your food quickly as well! My friend ordered the wontons as an app and it was delicious too! The place isn't big but they did great with spacing and tables. It is decorated minimally and you'll just have to find parking where you can downtown. I highly recommend coming here! It is local and family owned, and the food is too tier! Based on the amazing Yelp reviews and a friend's recommendation, I decided to have a lunch at Pho House to check out the hype for myself. It's located downtown next to Cry Baby's and in the former space of Prum's Kitchen. Parking was pretty easy on the street and cost about .60 for 30 mins. I was greeted immediately and got a run down of the specials which included a beef stew pho that was not on the menu. I did get this to go as well. Once I arrived home, everything was packaged very nicely. The noodles and toppings like basil, cilantro, and thinly sliced white onions, were in to go box and the broth in another container. The broth was super flavored and had these huge chunks of carrots and beef just like a beef stew. You can tell with each bite that the broth was made with love and bursted with much flavor. I asked for a side of chili oil, and woo...this one was hot but very good. Overall, I really enjoyed the pho and I look forward to another bowl very soon! read more

We came only to share a Vegetarian Pho and Summer Rolls. The pho had a good amount of tofu, noodles and veggies.Both were great! The owner and Manager came to make sure we were happy with the food. They were careful to point out the gluten free items that my wife needed. We will definitely be back to try more items. read more

Pho house is easily one of my favorite places to eat in Gainesville. Their vegan/vegetarian pho is one of the best I've ever had! My non-vegetarian boyfriend has tried the chicken and the shrimp pho but actually prefers the veggie pho over both. Totally recommend this place. Food: My wife and I shared the Summer Rolls. They were excellent. They are this locations version of Fresh Rollls. The peanut sauce was outstanding. It's funny that so many places get this wrong! Then we each had the #19 - Beef and meatball Pho. This was outstanding! The broth was hot and flavorful! The basil was fresh and the noodles were excellent. Service: the service was good, just enough for a place this size. Ambiance: this is a great place to get good food! No fluff, no thrills, just great food! This place has been on my bucket list, and finally went in during the Art Festival in downtown Gainesville. The interior is nothing of note and quite unassuming - a large open floor layout with a bunch of tables spaced around. There are a few pictures and artworks up, but it's definitely not super eye-catching. It was packed inside when I went, and seemed like there were one and a half guys (half, because one was mostly working the check-out counter and would assist tables occasionally) working the entire full floor. It took me a few minutes to get a menu and some water, but the way the waiter was running around (literally, I saw him jogging a few times), trying to get everyone situated, it was fine that it took a few minutes longer to order. My food came out quickly and was great. Very rich broth, which is always my favorite, and the meat was nice and tender. I'm not the biggest fan of the wide rice noodles, but it was still great, just a personal preference so nothing to fault about the restaurant itself. Overall I really enjoyed it, and especially appreciated the dedication from the front of house worker. Great pho place, probably one of the better I've had in Gainesville! read more

Fantastic food! We loved the pad Thai, bún was awesome and very fresh! The summer rolls were outstanding and the Krab Rangoon fantastic! You can't go wrong! Don't leave without tasting the Vietnamese coffee it will keep us awake all the ride home for 5.5 hours! This family owned restaurant is a true gem! Having spent time in Vietnam and Cambodia we were excited to learn of this new restaurant in Gainesville. It is a small family operation and they welcome you with open arms. The hospitality was authentic to what we experienced when we were in those two countries. The food however, the food was outstanding. We ordered a pad Thai and a Pho. It's okay. It really depends on what pho you've had before. The broth tastes pretty clean, not much spices. The meat wasn't that great, not so fresh and the rib bone was not very flavorful. If you add the chili oil and hoisin, it makes the pho an 8/10. It's pretty pricey. The owners/managers were nice. Probably the best in Gainesville. Also, bless their heart for being a family owned restaurant, but the cleanliness and service here needs more help. When there's only one server serving and turning tables on over 32 people, trouble will occur. I'll try it again, but maybe when it's not dinner rush. Could have been just a one-off. 3.5 stars. I wanted a slice of cake that I remember the Orlando Newks having so many of, and it wasn't until I was walking away from the register I noticed the cooler behind me of the slices.
