If I had to get a morning job in Amsterdam for seven days, I would wake and work at Wok to Walk a week. Unless it's whack. This is all I wanted to eat on my second visit. Simple: choose one of seven bases (noodles, veggies, rice), one of 21 meats or speciality veggie, and one of eight sauce (peanut, oyster, soy, garlic, hot). Don't worry, there's no math, but you could probably ask one of the workers to figure out how many combinations that is. 3200 is my guess. I have always been interested in this place when visiting Amsterdam. I decided to give it a try when I went in early July and loved it. It's very affordable which is always a plus to cut down traveling costs. The average price with a drink is around 9-11 euro. Their menu style is similar to Chipotle's, but it is an asian stir-fry. You can pick your base of noodles (egg/rice/udon) or rice, a main protein or vegetable, and all stir-frys come with the veggie/egg mix, so it is friendly for all diets (vegetarian/gluten free/etc). You can pick as many proteins/veggies as you want, but you have to pay extra for each additional one. I chose the rice noodles with beef, broccoli, and the tokyo sauce (teriyaki), and it hit the spot for a late night bite! The environment is bright and fun, and the service was great and extremely quick. Definitely recommend this place when you aren't feeling like spending 20-30 euro on a dinner! Also, I had no idea that this chain was in the US, so I will definitely be eating at a store in Newark or NYC when I'm in the area next to see if it's the same. read more

Great way to get a full meal that's both delicious and customized very quickly ++customization - you can choose what type of noodle vs veggies vs rice to get as your base, as well as the veggies or meat you want in it as well as your sauce. I added a lot -- mushrooms, cashews, chashu pork, bok choi, so it was an addition few euros but definitely worth it. For the life of me I would not be able to state which location I visited three times in three days back in 2011, but what I do remember is how delicious the quick service eatery was. It's no secret that I love Wok To Walk, but this one is quite small but it wasn't completely over-run at lunch time which I was expecting considering it was near the Old Church. While on line to order, we watched what others were getting, and also noted the very generous portion sizes... and that convinced us to share a meal. Though I'm not exactly a connoisseur on Chinese cuisine, The folks at Wok to Walk have something good going on here. Despite only being in Amsterdam for nearly four days I ate here twice, which I think speaks volumes. Not that everything is perfect here, though. The customer care is quite uncaring but you would've made a mistake expecting anything else. The customers are churned out one after another for maximum turnover, once you've paid you're just in the way. That aside, there isn't much to dislike about Wok to Walk. The food is constantly being prepared behind a plexiglass screen and arrives very promptly. It's usually quite easy to pick holes in the quality of fast food but here that is just not the case. The food is actually quite marvellous - well, by fast food standards anyway. If I find myself back in the Dam I'm coming back here. Had my first wok to walk experience in Barcelona. It was awesome and staff was super friendly. This location in Amsterdam sucks. Went in 10 minutes before closing, only two customers in the restaurant. Clerk took my order and was extremely rude. He said he did not have a cup or container to give me a second sauce. Thus, I suggested to just add it on top and would gladly pay for it. He refused and said "1 sauce only, this is how it works. I don't have anything to give it to you in." Wok to walk is pretty well known around Europe and it's the easy way to get decent Asian food in weird hours, as I'm not a big fan of all these döner places to me it's always a good option. Weird thing though that my favorite peanut sauce doesn't exist in Amsterdam, at least not on that particular store, so I had to compromise on a garlic and pepper sauce which was good but not as good as my regular choice. However, with all the drunk (or more likely -high) people all around there was still a pretty calm atmosphere and a nice break from all that's happening outside When we went in we were one of the last ones to be served but unlike Germany they don't rush to close and seems like they will happily serve another hungry costumer before the door is closed, even if it's a bit after closing time. I must have ordered the wrong thing... I got egg noodles with Saigon sauce. Flavors were good (after adding sambal), but a lil too much ginger (or something else I can't place my finger on). One of the happy discoveries on the third trip to Amsterdam for me and my wife... This place is quick, easy and to the point. Rice or noodles, fillings, and sauce dumped in a wok, heated, and tossed in a takeout container. You'll be in and out in no more than 10 minutes. The portions are great (not easy to come by in Amsterdam...) and the food is hot, fresh and delicious. My favorite part in Amsterdam... After a terrible meal at Majestic and not finding our tour group, this place was the perfect pick me up. We came here for dinner after seeing multiple people carrying their boxes around Dam Square and Red Lights District. You can customize your meal (noodles/rice, vegetables and/or meat, sauces, etc.) or choose one of their recommended selections. The food itself is cooked on the spot and super fast. It's perfect to carry to Dam Square and people watch. It's also fairly inexpensive (for Europe) and the portion size was huge.
