Amazing that Chinese food place. Food is good and they prepare it pretty quickly. The food is still good. They also make it on the spot to order so it's fresh and delicious. They also use kiosk so you don't really have to talk to the staff. There is a few seating inside, which is also great if you want to dine in. They also have some seating outside. This place is pretty full during late at night as there are not many options in the area that stays open past midnight. Solid spot for late night munchies. Would definitely recommend regardless if you have the munchies or not lol. read more

Food here could've been better because I had an awesome experience in Barcelona and had every night dinner there in Barcelona but sadly here it was disappointing. The shrimps were old and stale, frozen and thawed back many times, vegetables were unclean and giving an uncomfortable feeling of biting the sand grains here and there in each bite. It was terrible. Staff were like robots and having gone through the success rung, no more interested in keeping the customers pleased or satisfied. If someone had told me before my trip to Amsterdam that stir-fried Chinese food in a wok was one of the foods that the Dutch got absolutely spot on, I would've laughed my ass off. And yet it is I who will freely admit...they got it right and then some. I knew I had found the right place when there was a consistent line out the door here. The concept is simple enough. Choose your noodles/meats or vegetables/sauce/toppings, let them throw it all in a wok, and let them whip up some magic. It's pretty similar to Mongolian BBQ in that sense. Really though, it's the quality that stands out. You can tell all the ingredients are super fresh even before they throw it in the wok because they scoop up everything right in front of you. That quality really stands out once you get the final product, and made me overlook the fact that this is actually kinda on the expensive side for casual food. I guess my only gripe is that it's not exactly all that big, but of course in such a high traffic area you take what you can get with regards to available space. With the size of the place being so much, it's definitely NOT a sit-down restaurant. There are four seats and two tables inside, but with how crowded it gets in here I wouldn't really recommend sitting down. Mainly, the boxes are designed with the intention of being eaten on the go. Bryan and I were starving after visiting the Green House and needed something to tide us over! We were recommended to try Wok to Walk which was a block or two from our hotel. The night before it was super packed but because it was so early into the evening there wasn't a huge line! I made my way I didn't really know what to do so the chef made me a dish with the base and protein of my choice. I opted to egg noodles and prawns and he did the rest! The food comes out so quickly and such a huge portion for such little cost! There was so much flavor in my dish, even Bryan, who normally doesn't eat Asian food really liked it! You pick the following when you order: Type of noodles -I got rice noodles- same noodles as the kind that comes with Pad Thai Toppings- I got the shiitake mushrooms, roast pork (fatty portions- LOVE), bamboo shoots (tasted like ones from cans but not bad), shrimp, beef, fried onions, and fried garlic. I recommend roast pork and shiitake mushrooms. Sauce- I have tried the Teriyaki and the hot sauce. I prefer the hot sauce one but I like really flavorful foods. You will prob end up spending around ~15 but it is worth the price. Decent amount of food and it's good quality. Service is fast. Get a hot sauce packet. I came here THREE times in the 2 days I stayed in downtown Amsterdam. Also...it is a chain store. I was passing through the De Wallen area and kept seeing people holding a Chinese takeout looking container. I was pretty curious where they were getting it from, and randomly found the place as I was just walking around. Wok to Walk is basically a fast food stir fry place. You basically pick your meat, starch, sauce and toppings and they quickly stir fry it in a pan and give it to you in a red to go container. The fast casual concept is really taking off in the US with made to order burritos and made to order pizzas that you get within minutes, so I'm surprised fast food stir fry hasn't popped up as well. I went with chicken, udon noodles, Tokyo sauce, and then added some fried garlic chips on top. For as fast as they prepared it, the food was pretty good quality. You would think that since the ingredients weren't in the pan together for that long, that the flavors didn't have time to come together, but it was actually pretty tasty. The udon noodles were nice and thick and there was a good amount of chicken in there. The best part is they didn't skimp on the sauce. Usually when I go to a stir-fry place I prefer to add the sauce myself because they never put enough when the restaurant does it for you, but the stir-fry here had enough sauce to coat all the noodles. Overall, Wok to Walk is an awesome concept where you can get stir-fry on the go. If they had this in Chicago I'd be gettin it all the time. read more

Now i know this is a fast food place and I normally don't write reviews on em but Wok to walk got me walking all over while enjoying some bomb ass food. Setting: Interior is very clean with a full glass display to see the cooks prepare all the food right before your eyes (must have had some influences from the in n out drive through). The vegetables appear fresh and chopped neatly in their trays. Usually limited space to sit which was fine for us since we wanted to eat while walking around the streets. Food: Typical meat options available at a chinese restaurant (chicken, beef, shrimp etc..) i got the shrimp with rice with shanghai sauce and asked that they make it spicy. The smokiness from the wok with all the ingredients made it so convenient and enjoyable to eat while continuing to check out the city. Spicy was enough to make me sweat and leave a trail of puddles but hey it rained that morning so it made no difference! One of the things that I really marveled at in Amsterdam was the sheer diversity and availability there was when it came to food options. Cutting through and between random alleys and streets around city center, it seemed like there was absolutely anything from every culture available, if you could just find it. It was getting late in the evening, and I had a train to catch back to where I was staying, but my girlfriend and I were determined to get at least one more thing to eat before turning in for the night; after all it was vacation, and no better excuse than to eat excessively, and claim it's because we can't get it anywhere else. Ultimately, Asian stir fry isn't something we can't get at a lot of places in the States, but a name like Wok to Walk? Such a play on words, so pun-ny and slightly exploitative? Yeah, we're not getting that in the States (actually we can, but like most global ideas, they're in New York and not Atlanta). Besides, we had walked by Wok to Walk (no pun intended) earlier on, and noticed just how busy and long their line was, so there had to be some merit to their quality, so when the opportunity presented itself later on, and the line wasn't out the door, we had to give it a whirl. Basically, it's like Mongolian stir-fry, but served to order, and kind of quicker. You go to the counter, explain what kind of starchy base you want between a variety of rice or noodles, add on proteins and veggies, sauces, and they cook it up on the spot and serve it to you in a takeout box, within a small amount of minutes. And if you've had Mongolian stir-fry before, you've had Wok to Walk before then too. Not to say it's bad, because it's a pretty basic concept of stir frying together a whole lot of things and slather in sauce. For late night noodles and chicken though, they always hit the spot. The prices aren't bad either, as you can get a pretty generous helping of food for like 8 euros. Overall, I like their chintzy name, and their basic operation for not a tremendous cost. I wanted to try out this place since the customer gets to customize their noodles and add ons. I bought the rice noodles with Tokyo teriyaki sauce. It was stir fried with vegetables and egg. I didn't add on anything extra cause I wasn't that hungry. The noodles were piping hot and the sauce was slightly sweet and savory. It was just enough to make me comfortably full but not too much that I hit the food wall. Service was fast and brisk, also very nice and helpful. You go in, choose which kind of noodles or rice you want, which kind of meat and if you want any extra toppings last but not least which sause you want on, and then they cook it right in front of you. This noodle cafe is tiny and every time I walked past there was a constant queue. I finally found out on the last day why; the food is amazing! You go in, choose your noodles, udon, flat, egg or other and then your meat and vegetables and your flavours from blackbean to sweet and sour and hey presto the meal is ready in moments! I love how this place opens late when I am hungry around 11pm and I just need to eat something. The food was okay during the first few bites, but then it got me. So it turned out I love the food. I'd say food is above average. I would give this place 4 stars but because the bottled water was very expensive (€2.00 or € 2.50 for a 600mL), I heard Buddha telling me to deduct one star.
