First we thought we will come in for a tasting, upon entering we sat right down. Yes, we did share a sampling of their products. Which the three of us loved most, some like Bourbon I don't but my spouse so loved it. I make up for it though. We shared a burger and poutine. Who wouldn't love potato fries, gravy and cheese! Our waitress was very friendly and patient as we sipped and then decided on drinks. For dessert I wandered into the gift shop where you can get tastings before you buy a bottle also. Needless to say Doris was excellent also. She even brought samples of the Vanilla Almond Biscotti out for us at the table. Talk about service. Really enjoyed visiting the Wolfhead Distillery. The food was great, service friendly. I would suggest that, for a premium cocktail such as the Smoky Manhattan, they put a little more effort in. I was disappointed that cheap neon red cherries were used in place of proper Maraschino cherries. And serving a Manhattan in an ice filled glass is just wrong. Either "up", or on a proper ice block. These little things barely cost anything but they elevate the experience and show that you care. read more

This place has an extensive drink menu in terms of cocktails. You can also order a flight of craft liquors (4 quarter oz tasters) for $6. There are a few local wines and a handful of local craft beers, too. The food is okay but in terms of scope, it's pretty limited -- you can have an app, a sandwich, or a burger. This part of my review is a solid 4/5. However, I was not impressed with the speed of the service: we arrived at 1:40 PM and did not have our cocktails until 30 minutes later. We were essentially ignored after we were seated for 15-20 minutes. We didn't get our food until about an hour after we were seated--so it's not exactly a place to visit for a "quick bite." I should note that we were on the patio without a reservation and there were about 30 other people out here with 3 servers between us all. I'm not sure how that warrants waiting 30 mins for a drink. The service improved after we had our food, though. read more

My last visit was very good. The best dish is the ribs! Do not hesitate- get the two full racks!!! You dont need to share...its that good! The adult root beer is also a fav. They have a good amount of cool canadian craft beers on tap and some in the store to take home. Our favourite whiskey right now is the coffee whiskey which is available at the lcbo. If your new to the restaurant definitely order a flight of whiskey, at $6, you cant go wrong! The restaurant has a cool vibe. I love the decor. I cant wait to try out the patio. The restaurant is very kid friendly and the staff adore our little boys each time we visit. Unfortunately, I haven't yet been on a whiskey tour. Its never offered when I am there. It seems a bit expensive as well. I believe it should be offered for free to a table of customers who spend $100 in the restaurant and $25 in the retail store. This review is purely for their online ordering & in-person pickup during COVID-19. We had planned on doing the distillery tour this spring, but obviously that isn't happening anytime soon. Instead, we ordered a bottle of whisky and a bottle of the banana caramel vodka and took them home to enjoy. Very quick same-day turnaround on the ordering and pickup, and friendly, physically-distanced service too. The banana caramel vodka is a nice treat, and their whisky is delightful. The relatively short drive to Wolfhead is worth not waiting in line at the LCBO, and saving a couple of dollars off of the usual LCBO price. read more

We were touring a winery in Kingsville and saw an advertisement for this distillery. I'm so glad we decided to stop here the following day. The restaurant looks like it's brand new - very nice and clean. We opted to sit at the bar and are so glad we did. We had a very enjoyable dinner with Nick taking great care of us. Two of the five stars are for Nick who was the best bartender and was very knowledgeable about the company and the distillery. We were there on a weekday evening so it wasn't very crowded. The drinks and food were served in a very timely manner. My husband opted for the tasting and got to select 4 choices from their whiskey and vodka. He enjoyed this very much. We were there on his birthday and when Nick found out he gave him the tastings on the house - very nice! I had the perch and it was wonderful. The breading was perfect and it was not greasy at all. The best part of the dinner was the tarter sauce!! My husband had the pork sliders and raved about them. They have a retail store connected to the restaurant and they had some cute baskets which would make a great gift. I thought the banana caramel vodka was amazing but I like sweet drinks. My husband liked their whiskey and said it was very smooth. They are currently a small operation but I know they are going to do well with that great product line. We will be sure to visit again and hope that Nick is at the bar when we do! read more

Located in Essex county its not hard to spot the great wall of barrels as you enter the distillery. Upon reaching the complex Wolfhead has an outdoor patio/space that has love music playing on the weekends. We came here for a tasting tour, where we had to opportunity to try their: **Banana caramel vodka - sweet sweet Jesus was this delicious, alcohol content was perfect. Smooth and luckily alcohol content was less than the other ones we tried. **Coffee whisky, if only you could add this to your morning cup of Tim's or Starbucks this would be a delight. **Grapefruit vodka, I liked this one best, not sweet, but you can still taste the grapefruit. Loved it so much I purchased a bottle on the way out. Overall great place that also has a bar/ dine in area for those wanted to catch a bite! plenty of parking and the ambiance is busy. read more

Wolfhead was a really cool distillery to visit while I was visiting Canada. I had the hard root beer to drink which is made with their caramel whiskey and it was awesome. Wife and i enjoyed a good whiskey flight and meal. One fight is plenty for two ppl to try. I ordered the Wolf Sampler. Which I thought would be more than enough to eat but was enough. Wings were good, ribs ok--very small. But the fish rocked. Wasn't expecting it. The tartar sauce stole the show. Even if you don't order fish get a side of tartar for your fries ... I'm not kidding! I absolutely love this place. It's a whiskey/vodka distillery with an outstanding restaurant inside. I was blown away from the moment I pulled in the driveway of this place. It's decorated with a very modern feel. The restaurant has big windows displaying the distillery. The food was fantastic. I had a chicken wrap it's served with lettuce tomatoe and a garlic sauce. It's the best chicken wrap I've ever had. The fries came in a nice generous amount as well. My friend had the hamburger and loved it. Said it was very flavourful and juicy. There is a retail store beside the restaurant where you can purchase t-shirts and bottles of their whiskey/vodka. They have a normal whiskey. Very very smooth. They have a apple caramel whiskey. (My personal favorite) they have a grape fruit vodka and a banana caramel vodka. (Smooth enough to drink straight) I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys whiskey and vodka. The service was 10/10 you usually don't find restaurants with great food great drinks and even better service (that kind of thing is hard to come by!) My favorite part our experience here was that the owner came up to us and asked us how everything was. And they're very friendly! read more

I have never posted a bad review but felt the need to after my experience. Probably an isolated incident but we waited 1.5 hrs for our Entrées. Watched all tables come in and get served before us. Food came to the table and was subpar. Pulled pork and Mac was dry and not much cheese. Wow..what a great place. 4 of us popped on on a rainy December day for lunch. The atmosphere is fantastic...warm woods, comfortable seating, great distillery feel (It's attached to one). I ordered the Mac 'n Cheese with pulled pork, served in a bread bowl. It was off the charts good, cheesy...with the pulled pork having a hint of heat to it. Another person in our group ordered Mac 'n Cheese....No meat...she woofed hers down as well. Great cheese combination and the pasta was cooked perfectly.We both LOVED it. Person 3 ordered an open faced steak sandwich...cooked to perfection, with fries. It's his "to go to" dish whenever he comes here. Person 4 ordered the Cajun Beef tips...I'll come back to order these as they looked amazing, plus the person who had them said they were some of the tastiest he's ever had. Wait staff were friendly and made recommendations. Will definitely come back....food was fantastic. Wandered into their gift shop, which sells vodka, beer and whiskey (Banana/Caramel vodka sounds intriguing) at reasonable prices. Today was my first visit. I'll be honest I was a little reluctant to go but I'm so glad I did. I started with the broccoli soup which often is bland and watery but this soup had a great flavor and a nice consistency. My entree was garlic linguine with shrimp. The meal was simply excellent! The ingredients were fresh with the interesting combination of feta, olives, banana peppers and mushrooms. The service was right on point. We only waited a few minutes between courses. The waitress was attentive without being intrusive, exactly what you want. Add to this, a nice sized patio, live music, whiskey and vodka tasting and very competitive pricing. Ask to speak to owner about discounting food because i refused to touch it after waitress threw it back on my table after I asked for it to be re cooked. That was one of the best meals I've ever had. For the appetizer I had the tarts. For the entrée I had the Apple and Bree chicken Panini. And one of their desserts the blueberry compote tarts. The first time we went here, we had a great dinner, nice waitress, sat outside on the patio - generally a great experience. We tried to go back for dinner tonight and had the opposite. We called at 7:15pm for a table (we are 5 min drive away), the hostess replied with only, "the kitchen closes at 8pm." We replied that we were only five minutes away, it was only 7:15pm, and would be there well ahead of even 730pm, so had plenty of time. The hostess replied with only, "well, you better hurry." And then she hung up the phone. The staff clearly wanted to leave early, given it was a Saturday night. If I owned this business, I would be infuriated that I was losing business at the expense of my staff closing early to enjoy an early Saturday night. We will not be coming back unless / until there is a change in staff. read more

So so disappointed with this restaurant and it's management!! We have had great dinners in the past but this evening was so terrible we NEVER return. My husband reserved a table 2 weeks ago for our 20th anniversary for 5:30. Upon arrival the parking lot was full which for a Wednesday we thought was a bit odd. We go in the side door and enter into a room full of people in the middle of some kind of presentation.... very embarrassing as everyone turned to look at us. We quickly retreated outside and thought we maybe made a mistake. Three people later some manager came out and said the meeting would be done at 6. Ummmm you knew about this why you would not tell us at the time of the reservation is beyond me!!! They did offer a tour with a tasting but NO THANK YOU seriously the worst experience ever. Had dinner for 6 at the Wolfhead Distillery Friday night. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. The meal was outstanding and forget about the drinks which we followed the recommendations of the wait staff. We tasted all of the vodka's and whiskey's which tasted terrific and .bought 3 bottles. Even though the meal was prepared for us I wouldn't change a thing- linguine with shrimp, lobster, scallops and beef- delicious. We topped of the night with and delicious chocolate desert. A group of 14 of us went and celebrated my Birthday. Inside Wolfhead presents itself as a small distillery, dining area surrounding with murals dating the rum runner era. Tom & Sue (Manherz) are very hands on owners. Making the night very special for all. We had a very informative distillery tour, then followed up with craft beer, and spirit sampling at the dinner table. Kudos go to the behind the scenes kitchen staff, as well as the servers we had. Meal presentations and freshness was impressive.The menu was varied so all different tastes could be met, the fried Linguine with either chicken, or shrimp was a big hit. Not to mention beef tips, goat cheese turkey burger, perch, pulled pork, calamari. Everyone was raving about their meal, and wanted to share turning the dinner into a buffet. A group of 6 of us ate here on Friday August 5, 2016 for my wife's birthday. It was amazing!!! The restaurant was packed but it's a very nice atmosphere. A HUGE patio as another option but we ate inside. Tom and Sue (owners) are very hands on and continually checked in with guests, in between assisting the other staff, to make sure everyone was having an enjoyable experience. The food was great...we had drunken shrimp and scallops and the calamari. Other's at our table had the tacos, wolf den club, and the fried linguine. There wasn't one negative comment about the food...all were VERY impressed! Now on to the drinks...along with their own amazing products (vodka and whiskey) they also serve local wines and a selection of beer. Amongst the 6 of us we tried the banana caramel vodka, the coffee whiskey, the apple caramel whiskey, red and white sangria, red and white wines, and a few of their signature cocktails. The food is great but they really do showcase the Wolfhead product line with their cocktails! I personally had a couple of Mojitos and they were incredible. Again all 6 of us were over the top impressed with our experience. Thanks to Tom and Sue for making it a great birthday for my wife and the rest of our party.
