We stopped by on Sunday shortly after noon. No one was there and we had our pick of seats. They have a sizable patio along with seating inside. It was a cool vibe with a lot of sparkly chandeliers and red velvet. The drinks we got were decent but nothing mind blowing. Ok don't get mad at me but this place didn't WOW me - i wanted it. I will say this place have an awesome looking vibe; i actually came here for a calligraphy event which was hosted in the rear. Not sure if it's was SUNDAY and maybe the drinks (slighty pricey) are limited but i was also really hoping for food as well. Please note - no TVs! So i came here solo, then i really had nothing to look at and/or do it but if you have some friends then it would be good place to start off. I'll give this place another try some day. We went to Valentine to see a friend's band play. What a charming venue! And there's something homey about this place that I can't put my finger on, but it's homey in a good way that makes you want to hang out and come back. The band set up in front of the mural which made for a great backdrop. The sound was surprisingly excellent. We ordered a couple drinks, and the knowledgeable bartender helped me choose something not too sweet but not too boozy. I enjoyed a cocktail with their vodka as well as a gin and tonic over the course of the night and both were enjoyable. We will be back. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for a really long time, and I found myself in Ferndale on a Monday night with my boyfriend and two friends. We had dinner at Imperial, which was tasty but really loud, so we wanted someplace quieter to talk. Since it was a Monday, most coffee places were closed, and Valentine's was open till 11pm so we ended up there. I had the Maiden's Muse drink, which had vodka and some fruity flavors, and it was pretty good. My boyfriend got the Dark Chocolate Cherry Coke, with "Maraschino cherry infused vodka, Coca-Cola, and Hershey's dark chocolate," and if you like sweet drinks, it was super delicious. My friends got one of the mocktails, and the Cucumber Chill, and I think they enjoyed both. The atmosphere was really nice too - it was a small room but it looks like in the summer they have a tent outside too. A super relaxing place to just sit and enjoy a drink, and I will definitely be back at some point. read more

Recently hosted an event here. Every single staff was very kind and helpful. The manager, heather was super helpful. It was a bit pricey to host an event here but it was worth it for the vibe. This place is awesome! I came in on Friday night with my bf and we came in again the very next night. The craft cocktails are so good! I order the rose colored glasses with vodka instead of gin. I've had like 5 of those now lol. It was soooo good and the texture of the egg white makes it perfect! I also tried the floradora with vodka instead of gin. It was good, but just be aware that the raspberry is overpowering. Staff is very friendly! Everyone we interacting with was great. Great service. The place itself is perfect for a date night. Valentine is one of my most favorite cocktail lounges. I love everything from their distilled spirits, crafted cocktails, and the swanky vibe of the lounge. This year, we were celebrating very special birthdays so of course we wanted to throw a PARTY!!!!! Valentine's event space was 1st on my list of places to host such a special celebration. Heather, the event manager, was amazing to work with and had some great suggestions for the party. We developed a personalized cocktail menu for the event. The space is rented out by the hour, and there is a separate hourly fee for the bartenders. We had approximately 80 people, so two bartenders were needed to accommodate guests. We were able to cater in food and secured a DJ to entertain the crowd. They also allow you to decorate the space if desired. The great thing about Valentine's event space....it's already beautifully decorated with an industrial, chic décor and the ambiance is top notch. I love the chandeliers, dim lights strung above and candles scattered throughout the room. I always like to add my own touch so I placed one long stem red rose on each table along with a cocktail menu and votive. Let's just say we danced the night away and everyone had such an amazing time. The DJ did such a fantastic job getting the crowd moving and grooving. It was most certainly time to dance on tables...lol! Many of our guests had never been to Valentine, so it was fun expanding their experience. The hit of the night, of course, the craft cocktails. Our guests raved about the drinks. A fan favorite was the Peanut Butter Cup Old Fashioned followed by my own specialty creation called the Raspberry Beret. I think this party will most certainly go down as epic! Shout Out to Valentine for making our night so special. read more

We stopped in and got like 4 different drinks before we went over to Pig Whiskey. I'm so glad we did. I got a Pumpkin Pie Martini. Damn, I actually liked it more than actual pie. They have a beautiful patio with more than 6 ft between tables. They bring your order to the wine barrels placed between the tables and you take them from there. I will say one thing about this place.. The ambiance is superb . It's dimly lit with really cool decor . Our host of the night was Kirby she was lovely in her demeanor . Super sweet. I will say getting a drink was super slow I couldn't tell how many servers or bartenders were in house but I was surprised at the time it took from ordering to delivery . Still a little too cold for the patio, and the back room was a private party, but the small front room had enough room for us and we got to hang out and have a few cocktails. Super fun selection of cocktails to choose from - and we tried a good selection. Vodka is definitely not a preferred liquor of choice for myself, however, I came here for a tasting and my mind has been heavily changed because of the experience I had here. However, my taste in vodka is a bit particular now...to Valentine Distillery vodka as my vodka of choice. As I mentioned, I came here for a tasting of different types of vodka that they have and a brief history of their distillery and a brief discussion about their distillery process. It was incredibly interesting and the staff was very knowledgeable on the parts of the distillery that they were explaining. The tastings, obviously in small portions, were very smooth and full of flavor. During the tastings, we continued to receive explanations of the tastes and their beginnings of how the flavors came to be. During this event, we also were given access to a mini bar to buy some of their specialty drinks (Faygo & Vernors themed). Since that tasting, we have returned for a quick bite to eat and a drink and have not been disappointed. Even though it was just for fries and a screwdriver drink (vodka and orange juice), it was still the best screwdriver we've ever had! read more

I would put this at 4.5 stars, based on my first visit...it really was *very* good, and I wish that I had taken pictures of both my beverages and the facility itself. My apologies for forgetting to do so. I stopped by for the first time with a $10 voucher that I received in the mailbox for cocktails, and I decided to utilize it that day (yesterday), on my way to dinner. I must say: very impressive. They make their own spirits there, and they're willing to let you try tiny samples to get a taste for them. I tried two different types of gin, one I liked, one I didn't. It was nice to get a chance to try them, for certain. Mitchell, my server, did a great job, and he as well as everything else and everyone else was COVID-19 compliant: wearing masks, keeping socially distant (even when bringing beverages!), and in general, leaving lots of room between us. I think it's probably hard to come across as welcoming while purposefully distancing, but Mitchell did a great job! The back area of the facility is really, *REALLY* cool. So atmospheric, relaxing, and the vibe is definitely conducive to relaxation and kicking back. This is *not* a dive bar, and that's not the atmosphere they're going for: they're going for a higher-end lounge experience, and that's exactly how it comes across. Even though the room wasn't very crowded at all, I enjoyed my time there immensely. But what about those cocktails? To me, that's the long and the short of it. You can have all the service and atmosphere in the world and if your food and/or beverage isn't up to par, I'm not going to be all that impressed. Well, fear not: they mix some really good, and strong, cocktails here. I ordered two different cocktails based on Mitchell's recommendation of my tastes, and enjoyed both of them in different ways, taste-wise. Believe it or not, that's actually very impressive, because I'm not much of a drinker, and if they'd gone 1-for-2, that'd still be quite good with me. These are not watered-down well crap, either...they have quite distinguished tastes they bring. I *will* be back. It's too bad that their neighbor, M-Brew, couldn't survive the pandemic, but Valentine Distillery is picking up the slack, in my opinion.
