I left a voicemail exposing I'm a teacher and need a later appointment as it's hard to get subs and teachers don't get a lot of leave time. I called today and the lady at the Riverview location right off the rip started talking about what was owed even though I haven't even HAD AN APPOINTMENT!! I was so excited to have a woman of color and who was right down the road. Well apparently, if you're a new patient the LATEST you can get in is at 2:30! What? Most people work until 4 or so, and even then people are limited on when they can come in. I asked for April 3rd and surprise surprise, they're closed that day. I called a different location and the lady at the South Tampa laughed at me and told me TO CALL A DIFFERENT CLINIC! Even the front desk attendant doesn't want to work there. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and go to women's care if you can (the one that was recommended by second office lady). They're easy to book online and they seem more qualified. Yikes. How awful.

On May 6, 2026 I received an statement for $25.00 I called the Women's care asking the reason of the charge. They said it was for OFFICE VISIT and that Medicare did not covered office visit. My appointment was not scheduled for office visit so I contacted Medicare and they said that Women's Care used the wrong code (99397) and that they need to provide the correct code for Medicare to make the payment. I called back Women's Care and spoke with Carol who confirmed that Women's Care uses that code and that I signed a paper work where I am responsible for the remaining balance. I agree with that, but I do not agree with the Women's Care using the wrong code and Women's Care needs to contact Medicare to request the correct code to get the payment. It seems that Women's Care does not care about processing the correct codes to charge the Insurance companies and whatever the Insurance rejects, then, the easiest way for Women's Care is to argue with the patient instead of fixing the mistake they have made. It is only $25.00 dollars, but the principal is they have done something wrong and they refused to correct it, causing a person on Social Security to pay the $25.00

Terrible patient experience skills. No empathy. Cancelled appointment and did not acknowledge a…read moremiscarrying woman.

She learned that my husband passed away and we talked as if we were best friends. She was sincerely concerned about me. There was absolutely no wait time and the staff was great. How did I get so lucky?! These days physicians don't really seem to care and don't have any listening skills. Dr. Josey is a fabulous physician and a wonderful lady; very down to earth without being fake. I am blessed to have found her!

I hesitated writing this review because I haven't seen Dr. Josey in years. In fact, I know exactly…read morewhen I stopped seeing her: January of 2017. But I decided to write this now because I think maybe it will help patients who are looking for a new gyn avoid having to look all over again if they don't like this one for the same reasons I didn't. Okay, here's my experience: I had only gone to Dr. Josey a couple of times. She took my insurance and I didn't have a gyn in the area. So, I was trying her out. But, I was actually planning to stop seeing her and find a new doctor because I found her demeanor unusually cold and brusque for a gyn. But after that visit in early 2017, I think I realized why she was so curt with me. After my exam, she treated me to an uninvited rant about how I have to now get on board with the new political person who just won the presidential election. To me, it felt like (without asking me or knowing anything about me) she sized me up as someone who was not part of her political leanings. And that may have been why she was so cold and curt. I didn't file a complaint because it was just her and me in her exam room (yes, the rant took place in the exam room moments after my exam), so it would have been a "her word against yours" kind of thing. But, I think I understand the extreme mix of reviews she gets here. I think that if she picks up that you're of her mindset or you make that clear, you'll probably like her. If only because she might be a bit friendlier to you. If you probably don't share her opinions, I'd recommend that you continue looking for your right gyn. I did and found an amazing, warm and caring gyn right after Dr. Josey. She retired, unfortunately, or I'd recommend her here.

Condescending, laughed at me when I tried to explain things she didn't agree with and ignored most things I said. And just prescribed birth control without even listening to me or taking any labs (which the birth control actually made me worse and she scoffed at me for saying this). In fact when I asked for lab work she stated they don't take any if you're 32 years old and your cycle is on time. Regardless of the other symptoms I was complaining of - horrible cramps, spotting for days, intense bloating and all of these being changes that were new to me. She ACTUALLY suggested that I might have an STD lol which was absurd after explaining I have been with only my husband for X amount of time - she tested me anyways and I did not. With absolutely no grounds for testing me for this or even suggesting I might have them based on my symptoms. I now have seen another doctor and I actually do have hormone issues and was totally off balance and have gut issues etc. and I'm so thankful I went to see someone else that actually listened and respected me as a woman and wanted to hear what I had to say because I would have never gotten better if I stayed under the care of Dr. Fanarjian. So if you are looking for a doctor that simply wants to just prescribe birth control when you complain of anything period related- she's the one for you. However if you are wanting to actually get to the root cause of things I suggest you stay far away.
