They were patient and accommodating with my toddler, and let her feed several of the animals. At the end of the tour, she got some time to play on the property. The giant play structure might have been her favorite part! The little train ride was an added bonus as well. You can tell that the animals are all loved and cared for as well. Made my husband and I want to quit our city jobs and go start a farm! Such a fun spot and again, perfect to break up the drive to/from Yosemite.

They also have a selection of baked goods and local honey available. 90 percent of the items you see here are organically grown on their 2.5 acres land. Adam welcomed us with a friendly and cheerful smile. A beautiful black cat came strutting up to him. Adam said the cat is many of the 'working' farm cats that they care for - and the cats looked well-cared for. The farmstand is open daily, and sees 40-50 visitors on weekends. Adam said several of the local restaurants get their greens from them. If you're planning on hiking off Worman Road, stop by the farmstand. This was our first time visiting the farm during the harvest season. We didn't get to do everything…read more(newborn & toddler needing a nap) but there was sooo much to do. Farmer John's really spent time and resources making upgrades to everyone's experience when they visit. One of the most noticeable improvements was the concrete paths that have been poured, circling the attractions. This makes the farm completely stroller friendly and so much easier for moms with young kids. My daughter also got to do the pony ride which was such a special treat for her. I should also note that it was only $15 to get in. We went to another pumpkin patch here in the valley that charged just as much, but had way less attractions, amenities and things to do. Thank you farmer John for always making our experiences better and better, and keeping it affordable for us moms!

There is a…read moreprivate cottage for rent, a farm stay nestled within 40 acres of land with 2 creeks flowing through, oak and pine trees, an old collapsed gold mine, and Indian grinding rocks makes for adventurous activities for adults and kids alike. Pan for gold, explore the creek, hike, feed the cows, chickens, play with the dogs, and cats. All great family activities. My family and I totaled 8, and we were looking to spend some time together cooking and enjoying the outdoors. We rented the cottage at Willow Creek Ranch which was rustic and warm with all of the farm feel. Chicken imagery was throughout from the throw pillows to the game of Farmopoly. There was a gas stove to cook with, washer and dryer, plenty of beds, fridge, counter top oven and microwave. All of the amenities that we could want. Plus, if we forgot any ingredients for cooking, Cathie was next door to save the day. During the winter season, we visited California Cavern State Historic Landmark which was a short drive away. Also, Bear Valley ski resort was about an hour away (Do not take Sheep Ranch Road as Google may suggest, but take Mountain Ranch road back down to 49 and then 4 all the way to Bear Valley. Sheep Ranch road was a bumpy narrow back road with tons of curves.) I will be looking forward to the summer where at night we can roast marshmallows and eat popcorn at the backyard movie theater, swim in the pool, and care for the farm animals. Cathie and John are excellent hosts and make Willow Creek Ranch a memorable experience for everyone on the farm.

We had a great time petting cows, and dogs, and cats, and chickens. They were so mellow and friendly. The baby cows are especially adorable! The owners are also wonderful, friendly people. We enjoyed listening to their farm stories over a home-cooked breakfast. Some tips: if you have rain boots, wear them! I just wore my regular boots. Not smart. Also, there's a cute little cottage you can stay in. We were only there for the morning so we didn't sleep there, but it looked comfortable and apparently could fit a lot of people. I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a fun, low-key farm experience!

We rode the bus from the school and checked in at the designated field trip area when we arrived. Since there were four classes, they split us into groups, which made everything feel organized and smooth. The kids absolutely loved the hay ride and getting a tour of the farm to see the layout. One child was so excited she almost fell over. Her water bottle fell but she was safe. We then visited the animals and learned about all the amazing things the farm does, which was both fun and educational. After the tour, the kids enjoyed time on the playground and had snacks. There were also shops and places to eat, which was great for families and chaperones. The bathrooms are port-a-potties. They do have hand washing stations. I had never heard of this farm before, but it truly exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back next year! It was only $5 per child and $15 for parents which wasn't bad.

During Halloween time they sell pumpkins (of course), fresh vegetables, locally sourced honey, farm fresh eggs, and more. New this year is the inflatable movie screen they've set up. Every weekend they've played family friendly movies such as Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus. They also have a bounce house, do tractor pulled wagon rides around the pumpkin patch, and set up a corn maze with a new mystery to solve every year. Outside of the season, however, they continue to sell a lot of the items listed above. The family who own/run it are great people and have always had smiles on their faces every time we've been there. I couldn't recommend visiting and supporting this local farm and family enough.
