Such a terrible exam should only be inflicted on women if it is truly needed, not because women have been brainwashed into thinking they need it all the time. Dr. Kini should not perform Pap smears until she learns how to perform them without hurting the patient. Like many of her patients, I thought she was fine to begin with, but then I saw and experienced her uncaring side.

The only downside is when you call her office you sometimes get this very rude lady who lacks bedside manners. We've brought this to Dr. Kini's attention and she admits others have complained as well. Apparently it's a service not hired directly by her so she can't just fire her. Despite this, we will stay with her since she's an excellent GP.

I've been meaning to write a review of Dr. Warren Chang for some time now. He is my father's…read morenephrologist (kidney doctor). My family and I truly cannot thank Dr. Chang enough for his life-saving work. In summary, a few years back my father's kidney function had declined significantly, which his primary care doctor had failed to inform him about despite blood tests etc. (this is a whole other story...). After several stints in the hospital and ICU, I searched frantically for a seasoned nephrologist and found Dr. Chang. He and his colleagues from Westbay Nephrology came to my father's aid and made repeated visits to the hospital to monitor my dad. The primary care doctor never visited my father once. Thanks in large part to Dr. Chang's expert care, my father's kidney function improved to the point where he did not need dialysis. Today my dad is stable and continues to see Dr. Chang regularly for his thorough care and expertise. We are so grateful for Dr. Chang.

As Dr. Hoddinott had good reviews, I gave her office a call telling them that both my wife and I (40ish,very healthy, great insurance) are looking for a new doctor. I was told by the receptionist (this was 16 days ago) that the doctor would review our request and I would hear back from them the next day. I didn't. So I call back and another person tells me that "it can take several days for the doctor to make a determination about a new patient. She has lots of things on her desk". At this point I already have a bad feeling about the doctor and her staff if it takes them several days to get back to a new patient. But I thought I would perhaps get a call after a week. Nope.. Two Weeks? Uh-uh. It's not two weeks plus and no call-back. The doctor might be wonderful with patients. Unfortunately, for me the process of getting in to see her was a major turnoff. Doctor Hoddinott, work with your staff on a much better process for people who WANT to give you business. I am still looking for that elusive general physician!

You can usually get a pretty fast appointment. He also gives you as much time as you need. He's one of the few physicians I've encountered who's not an a clock. He's also incredibly conscientious and attentive. I had some anomolous blood test results a year ago. The cause was not immediately apparent. But he worked through the differential diagnoses and referred me to an world-class hematologist, who concluded that the anomolies were benign. Huge relief. When he makes referrals, the docs are invariably tops in their fields. And best of all, he responds to email. Heaven! His office staff is generally attentive and efficient. They are on a very good EMR system that has an excellent patient interface (myhealthonline). But it still has limitations in terms of sharing records with other providers, referrals to out-of-network docs, etc. Where that happens, you're back to faxing things back and forth which drives me crazy. Who has a fax machine anymore? It's like asking patients to use carbon paper and white-out. Net net, Hwang is tops. I'm frankly surprised he's still taking new patients. I'd have assumed he'd be full up by now.

If we could, we would have stayed with Kaiser, but that's not an option b/c the mister's work doesn't offer it. I logged into the health care providers site and there were over 100 doctors to choose from. OY! How the heck do I choose? Thankfully a friend of ours takes her children to BAP and she had 2 names of doctors that she would recommend. Thankfully those 2 doctors were listed in the names that were available to us. There is a rather large parking lot behind the medical building, but it seems that most of the employees park there. I was warned by my friend that sometimes getting a space can be a b!tch. Thankfully our appointment was at 9AM, so there were still a few parking spaces available. When we came out everything was full, and people were waiting for people to leave. *Note to self: Schedule early appointments. The waiting area space is okay. Lots of things for the kids to do which I'm not used to with Kaiser. The lilmiss went straight for the playhouse. Kids were playing with the various tables and the walls were appropriately decorated with children's artwork. There were a few magazines for the parents and plenty of books for the children. Unlike Kaiser we were seen right away. Which is nice. I didn't even get a chance to finish my paperwork. One thing I didn't like were the exam rooms. They seemed very dated, like they needed some TLC. Another thing was the infant scale was located all the out by the entrance. I was asked to remove my daughter's clothes and leave on her diaper and carry her out and around to the scales. Thankfully it wasn't too chilly, but still! The nurse weighed her with her diaper on too which I know was full and added some weight to her reading, inaccuracy. Either I'm too used to Kaiser or I just don't know. Normally we're given a sheet of paper for milestones to expect as well as height and weight written down. We're also given the option to schedule the next appointment, seeing as how it will be in another 2 months. I have my likes and dislikes for BAP, but I'm sure there will be some things that I need to get used to after being in a system like Kaiser for 9 years.

Having come from an awful experience at Kaiser, I was looking for a competent, compassionate, and responsive pediatrician. Dr. Zaglin has far exceeded my expectations. The first appointment was the 18 month check up for my daughter. My daughter was very anxious and cried. Dr. Zaglin took the time to ease his way into her good graces and now when I ask if she wants to see Dr. Zaglin she says "Yes he gives stickers!" We have seen Dr. Zaglin three times since then and he has always been very caring towards my daughter. He speaks to her directly and gets her to warm up to him before he begins examining her. He also takes an interest in other non-medical issues like her sleep patterns and language development. At Kaiser they told me that her sleep issues were not their concern and not a health issue. THANK YOU Dr. ZAGLIN and your wonderful team for providing this first time mom with peace of mind that you truly have my child's best interest at heart.

I feel that the patients are expected to have medical background to benefit from visiting here. Having a full time job is not helping to be a patient here also given the prolonged wait time.... She also recommended a specialist to me and I looked it up after. That specialist has an incredibly bad reviews...: I ended it up picking my own and happy with my choice after. I will not come back here...

She is the best doctor. Takes her time to listen doesn't rush you out of the room. Calls you back…read moresame day. Generally concerned about your overall health. I feel like other doctors have never cared about my health but she does. Makes sure you are up to date on blood tests and exams. Her staff is awesome I am not sure what other people are talking about. They always answer their phone's and answer the messages on my chart. What more could you want?

My mother is not someone who complains easily, so hearing about her experience was especially disappointing. As a primary care provider myself, I believe patients deserve to be treated with respect and compassion, even when visits are challenging. I need an appointment and had selected Dr Carillo out of the pool of PCPs HPSM had to offer, yet this office seems to not care about returning new patient calls. I'll have to call HPSM and switch to an office whose staff are on top of it cause this office is not it at all.

Horrible office staff and unprofessional…read more After waiting for months to secure my initial appointment with the doctor, and on the day of arriving at the office, I was told that I needed to be rescheduled as the doctor does not see patients on the day that I have scheduled. I had to wait another month to be rescheduled. Finally got the doctor to see me, and prescribed a prescription but upon hearing from the pharmacy, they needed to reach out to the doctor for further information on the prescription. It's been two weeks since the prescription was submitted, and the doctor has not responded to the pharmacy's message. I would avoid going to this doctor and deal with the office staff. Find another doctor but not Dr. Carrillo.
