A total Yelp find!!!!! I was writing reviews the other day. A dish from this place was featured by someone. I was first interested in a roast pork dish. Then i saw it was local and close. However after further examination of the menu. Beef crispy pan fried noodles sounded yummy. Lets just say it was spot on. The taste was incredable. Probably one of the best asian dishes ive had in a long time. The service was a little slow. However that was ok. They were dealing with a party of about 15-20 people at one table,that had just arrived before me. However they came over and took care of me as soon as possible. Trust me the quality of the food was well worth the wait. My food arrived soon after it was ordered. The inside was clean. The decour is obviously Asian inspired. Im definitely coming back. My favorite comfort food spot! I moved away but whenever I'm in the area I always make sure to stop by for lunch. It used to be my go to lunch place. They remodeled recently so the store looks clean and neat now, and I'd say they have some of the nicest service too. Everyone's always so kind with me. I love their crispy pork skin and the flavorful roasted duck. Favorite mom and pop shop in the area. I also love their boiled cabbage that comes with the combo rice plates. We wanted to try something different! This is a small unassuming location, there is seating inside and the service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the crispy pork with rice as well as the beef chow fun, and crispy pork egg rolls. Both dishes were very tasty! The egg rolls you can skip, they're good and filling but not out of the ordinary. The crispy pork was super unique and tasty, and very crispy. The beef chow fun tasted fresh and the portion was huge. I'm so glad to have found this awesome place if I'm craving Chinese BBQ and don't want to drive to Buford Hwy. Wong Wong BBQ is located at a strip mall, so there are tons of parking. I called ahead for take out and ordered hot sour soup, crispy squid, BBQ combo rice with roast pork and soy sauce chicken, and honey BBQ pork rice. I was told it would be ready in 15 mins. The lady who took my order was very hard to understand, so just FYI. I'm sure it would be quick if you went to the restaurant and ordered there anyway. The total for these items was around $60. The hot sour soup was probably 2-3 servings and came with wonton chips - it also had bamboo shoots, big slices of tofu, shrimp and chicken pieces. Both BBQ rice meals were delicious - served with sauce, fried rice and veggies. The squid was okay and lacked flavor. It's been sitting in the container, so they were quite soggy by the time I got home, but a quick reheat in the air fryer would do the trick. The restaurant also has tables. The staff is very friendly, the food is great, and everything is bright, clean, and welcoming! They have festive decorations up in the dining area. The food is great! Did I say that already? lol. My husband liked the eggplant hot pot (he said he's had spicier, but this one really highlighted the eggplant). When visiting Lake City Farmers Mkt, l'd always glance at Wang Wang BBQ with curiosity.... then one day I finally decided to try it. I was THOROUGHLY pleased! The menu is plentiful and they were accommodating to my vegan diet, the food is DELICIOUS (try their salt & pepper tofu and Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce), and their dining area is clean and tidy. For me, it's the little things that count- I observed an employee wiping down all the soy sauce bottles designated for the tables, the floors and bathroom are clean, and get this: THEY OPEN 9:30am!!! So when I awake in the morning with a taste for authentic Chinese cuisine-- I don't have to wait until the afternoon to satisfy my taste!! Found this gem while grocery shopping next door. Went in twice to order their roasted duck to go. Prices had gone up over the years. I remember it used to be $20, now it's cents short of $40. This was a delightful little discovery on our way back from our holiday Atlanta visit. Driving on the connector, we lamented that we weren't able to grab some food before leaving, when I suggested that we should look in Yelp. Lo and behold, up off of 75 south (and close to 675), there's a Chinese BBQ place!?! How unlikely is that. We found it in a mall next to a Hispanic market. Sure looks authentic, with all the BBQ ducks hanging in the window inside. We ordered a mixed crispy pork and duck combo rice to share. It came with veggies, thankfully, but it's "only" napa, and not the more pricey yu-choi. Both meats were fine - quite authentic. The pork skin, though, was overly salted. It's a trick that I've seen on You-tube where you put a thick layer of salt on the skin (after poking holes in it) to draw the moisture out and make it more crispy. I've tried it myself, and consider the procedure unnecessary and undesirable - that latter, because you can't really get the salt taste off, despite You-tube reassurance. Still, we're happy to have found this place, since they also offer other regular HKG-style Chinese fare like noodles and rice. For sure, a stop that we'll be able to conveniently make both coming and going! read more

I love going to different restaurants and I was pretty excited to try this one out. I was crazy braised pork belly but they do not offer that here. Instead I opted for the bbq with white rice. I must admit, the best thing about that place was the little bit of sauce in that plastic cup. That sauce had so much flavor, it was absolutely delicious! I asked for another but unfortunately they would not allow it. Now, onto the actual food. I was a bit disappointed. From the look of it, you'd think that my taste buds would be bursting for the overload of flavor and sauce but the color is very misleading. It was flavorless. The rice was cooked to perfection but it was quite bland. That sauce saved the rice, it just couldn't save all of it because there wasn't much in the cup. Luckily I had bbq sauce at home that saved the meat. It was tender and juicy, I'll give it that for sure. The inside is never however, and spacious. I ordered the duck fried rice and the pan founder. I felt the price for the duck friend rice was a little high for the amount of food I got. Nevertheless, it was very tasty and cooked good. I was not expecting the pan flounder to come as one whole fish, bones and all. My boyfriend also said it was under seasoned. No longer in the Hong Phat market, Wong Wong BBQ has moved next to the Lake City Farmers Market. Their food is sooo good. I have yet to try every dish on the menu, but so far, no complaints. I usually get the roast pork & honey pork rice combo, seafood chow fun (no gravy), but the soy sauce chicken and fish maw soup are delicious as well. I'm glad they've added more entrees to their menu compared to when they were just a food stall. The woman who takes my order is always so kind and greets me with the biggest smile on her face. Went out with the family to try this restaurant in a strip mall and the food was all good. My family really liked the roast duck, though the roast pork meat could be firmer (needed higher heat for cooking); the roast pork skin remained crispy, however. We also ordered the decently priced fish maw soup, which cost $11 for 4 servings, beef ho fun noodles, garlic with snow pea leaves, and green mussels with black bean sauce. All of the food came with a tasty sauce, which is hard to accomplish in most restaurants for all dishes-usually hit or miss with one or two dishes, but not here. Service is fast with orders always ready within 15 minutes, inside is clean and the staff are very friendly. Just moved to Jonesboro from Sacramento, ca. I'm Asian and 41 years old... and this is probably one the best Chinese spots I've ever had. Pops brought home a roast duck, and i went there myself the very next day. This isn't American Chinese food, more traditional. Simple menu is a plus. I grew up right across the bridge from NYC and used to cut school to eat lunch in Chinatown at the BBQ/noodle houses. I ordered the honey pork noodle soup. And I have eaten in BBQ/noodle houses on several continents and in more cities than I count. The broth for the soup here was the best I ever had. Anywhere. The flavor was super complex, and I couldn't even guess what was in it. The honey pork, which back in NYC we just called roast pork, was also super flavorful and totally gristle free. They gave me a dipping sauce for the pork which I would gladly have eaten a bowl full. The service was a a bit slow, but super friendly and welcoming. I stay with a friend on the southeast side of Atlanta and usually trek up to Buford Highway. I think I will stick local from now on. read more
