Worst Asian food I've ever had! My husband and I ate there this evening...I had sweet and sour chicken. It was just breaded chicken pieces with a side of red sauce in a tub. No fruit or vegetables. GROSS! My husband had sesame chicken... The chicken pieces were drowned in a sauce with no taste. The fried rice was nothing but white rice with soy sauce on it. My goodness. If you have given a good review at this place, I have to question your taste buds and knowledge of Asian cuisine. I had shrimp chop suey and my wife had shrimp fried rice. The rice on both dishes were terribly bland. My shrimp/chop suey veggies were ok. We had a large egg drop soup. It had zero taste and it was burned. How do you burn soup? About 4 spoons and in the trash. We had the 6 piece crab rangoon. My wife ate 1/2 of 1 and I had a bite of another, and in the trash they went. 40+ bucks wasted. A lot of trash can action including the to go menu. You're better off going to New China if that place still exist. Chou Lee's is terrible. I will stick with the Yummy House in Conyers. Was trying to actually find some good Chinese in Atlanta and a few people recommended this place. I'm convinced Atlanta residents don't know what good Chinese is because everything about this was mid. I ordered chicken fried rice, braised wings, and chicken lo mein. I didn't really love anything. The lo mein was ok, but had a fishy taste. Either they used too much fish oil or cooked it with seafood dishes. The chicken fried rice was a complete mess, but I'm thinking maybe they gave me the wrong order. It had snow peas, carrots, broccoli, parsnips, onions, and mushrooms. I didn't find any chicken. I'm assuming someone gave me veggie fried rice instead. I couldn't even eat it at all because I hate mushrooms. So I completely wasted my money on this. The braised wings were just ok. They had tons of garlic and it's pretty much all I could taste. Messing up my order the first time I go means I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

When we arrived within that time frame, it was ready and waiting. When we arrived home, the food was warm and tasty. I ordered the Curry chicken which was good, but tasted like it needed to simmer on a stove a little longer to deepen the flavor. Wifey ordered the Braised Wings with fried rice and really enjoyed it. First time trying and they're crab ragoons were 10/10 , braised wings 10/10 even though they weren't too much but more so on the smaller side , shrimp fried rice 10/10 & my husband enjoyed the sesame chicken as well . It was good solid Chinese food. No eggs and no peas and carrots in the rice. I was told that the owner says thats cheap fillers and she doesn't need cheap fillers in her rice but honestly I prefer it with the eggs, peas and carrots. Also why can't we ever get bean sprouts in the fried rice anymore anywhere? Well the food was good and I noticed she hires people from the neighborhood which is a good thing. My friend and I are from out of town and ordered takeout from here. We got sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken and both were very bland. The sauce was also very watery for the sesame chicken which I have never experienced before with other restaurants. We ordered crab rangoons and egg drop soup, and my friends and I love onion and garlic. There was wayyyy too much onion and garlic; it was all you could taste. We have been going to Chou Lees for 30 years. Their egg drop soup is the best! I've never gotten a meal that I didn't like. The owner is friendly and is always there. They take phone orders and food is usually ready in 20 minutes. It's our only place for Chinese food. read more

The first time, I don't remember what I ordered but I LOVED IT. So now, it's my second time. I just got out of the hospital and was craving Egg Fu Yung. My cousin ordered it for me over the phone and I went and picked it up. I lie to you not, my body began to heal as soon as I opened up the vegetable fried rice! I'm the type of person the loves greasy Chinese food. This isn't that. It's waaaaay better. You know, there's a running joke that you never see a delivery truck pull up to a Chinese restaurant. And I'm sure you never will at Chou Lee's. I'm positive that they go to the Farmers Market and hand pick their produce and meat. Everything about this food is exceptional!! It's like all other Chinese food restaurants are beneath me, at this point. And the biggest factor for me is, every time my son eats Chinese food, his face breaks out. But, Chou Lee's? When I first came here the food was good but after COVID it just went down hill. My sesame chicken is dry and looks like it's been taken off another plate and just added .. never have a bought a combination plate and could actually see the chicken through the batter and sauce of my sesame chicken.. . And let's not get started on the crab Rangoon . It was so hard to pull apart and when I took a bite it was just sour and old tasting.. definitely not what I'm used to . Overall I won't be spending my money here anymore. I better off going down the street to a less known location and receiving better food. Raised wings are the best in town. The sauce...addictive!!! A must try when on the East side of Atlanta.

So, Instagram had me try Chou Lee's. So a couple of reels and a food influencer poll that noted Chou Lee's as one of the best Chinese food spots in the Atlanta area. I was near and decided to give them a try. I ordered shrimp and broccoli in a brown sauce, vegetable fried rice, veggie eggroll and an order of "regular" wings. While my shrimp and broccoli seemed fresh it was flavorless and swimming in the brown sauce. It was more of a "soup". To be clear, I decided to save and recook the next day and I accidentally spilled HALF of the liquid on my floor and there was still an entire bowl of sauce to cover the shrimp and broccoli. There was absolutely no flavor or seasonings, very bland. My vegetable fried rice was mushy and bland as well. Basic salt and pepper could have been helpful. The eggrolls were a nice size however they were charred and tasted as if they were cooked in old grease. Similarly, the wings tasted like the oil they were fried in was old. Overall, I will likely never return. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and nice. read more

Meh. Everything here was pretty mediocre. Nothing to write home about. The restaurant itself has a BEAUTIFUL interior, but it just doesn't seem like they maintain it well. There were cleaning carts just lying about during lunch time and the floor in front of our table was really sticky and dirty looking. The food flavors were alright but within like 5 minutes our food cooled down significantly as if it were cooked in the microwave instead of a stove (not that this is truly what happened, just speculation). They also brought our food in on a cart which was kind of odd (and uncomfortable reminiscent of the cleaning cart). I had a good bit of fried rice left over, but I just left it on the table instead of getting takeout because flavors just weren't "wow" enough. read more

Since the restaurant is typically busy at any given time of the day, they work very fast and are very kind. The restaurant is small, so if there's a line out the door, don't be surprised. Well let me get straight to the point. The customer service is great. The food is good but today it was not good. I walked in, placed my order for small shrimp fried rice with extra green onions and 3 vegetable egg rolls. When I got home I noticed they gave me extra onions instead of green onions. So I called just for one to convince me that the green onion is white. Before it went left I said okay thank and have a good day.
