The food tasted great, but it does not make up for our poor customer service experience. The customer service is awful. I ordered over $40 worth of food for a family of 6. We wanted to try the cheese wonton, so we got an order of 6. I picked up the order, and drove home. When we went to eat the wonton, there were only 4, which is not enough to feed the group of six. We called to let them know that 2 had been missing. The woman apologized and said they'd replace them now or credit for next visit. We told them we were too far and would appreciate the credit. A few minutes later, a gentleman called and told us we were incorrect and it was impossible for there to be 4 wonton because there were 6 wonton in all of the bags they prep. We let them know there were indeed only four due to not having enough for our party of six. Later, ANOTHER woman called to once again say it is impossible for us to have only received 4 wonton and that it may have fallen in the larger bag or even in the car (which is impossible since I tied the bag walking out of the restaurant). It's very sad to lose a customer because they insist that we were incorrect even though we did not have enough for our entire group. The restaurant will not go bankrupt due to a $3 credit and just apologizing for the mistake. The issue was not resolved, and we will not be returning. read more

Worked at Chinese restaurant back-in-the-day when dishes were scratch made with a bounty of vegetables. Now-a-days sickening sweet entrees, tasteless sauces, & barely a vegetable in sight force me to be a tough critic. Wong's is the best of what remains in the area. While it's not the cuisne of yesteryear, they do a good job on common dishes at a great value. Several visits & never a screw-up on the order. Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, & Pepper Steak, ordered large, containers were packed to brim, each dish had significant amount of meat. Beef LoMein was not just noodles but decent amount of meat & fair variety of veggies. Egg rolls are big and round, crispy not greasy. Fried dumpling order has 8 large dough pockets with ginger dipping sauce. $60, husband & I ate for 3 days off this order & were given free sodas to boot. Downside, they offer a very limited menu. You won't find Peking Duck, Crab Rangoon, Sweet & Sour Pork or even fortune cookies. But I'll take a few things done well over a large menu poorly executed. Take-out only. read more

Placed my order over the phone. Food was gross and the place is extremely dirty. They have a no refund policy even if the food tastes bad. They laughed when I called back to let them know how bad it was. They told me too bad we don't do refunds. Don't recommend even if you live nearby! They sell random things in their shop like shoes etc making it very confusing. Is this a restaurant or a shopping center? The place needs a good cleaning. Ok being from NYC you know when it comes to Chinese food we are bugee but simple in the sense there is no way you can fuckup pork fries rice n boneless spare ribs....BUT YOU CAN!!! the boneless spare ribs were salty n sweet all at the same time and not in a good way!!! Seems like some1 got heavy handed with the salt and put bbq sauce n sugar to reduce the saltyness. Now the pork fried rice...I served my husband the rice when I finished n went ro serve my some rice the box where the rice was in was swimming in oil. Moved to PA a couple years ago after living in NYC most of my life, and NJ for a few years. Have nearly given up on finding pizza, bagels, Italian, and Chinese that are as good as what I'm used to. This place, for Chinese food, might just be The One. Ordered basic stuff to try, just a combo platter with lo mein, rice, and egg roll. Everything was really good, and portions were ridiculous given that prices were good. There's enough food left over for at least two meals, and it was all under $20. House special fried rice is my favorite, and this is excellent. There was a flavor in the lot meeting that took a while to get used to. Still can't place it. But the noodles were awesome. Every once in a while, I realize this happens, but in Wong's case, this is a significant event because I will not go to Wong's anymore. I would not eat there again. Why did you ask? The food has gone from one of the best in the Reading area to clearly one of the worst. I think this will be the norm because I have lived in this area for more than 10 years and it has taken a long time to settle on Wong's as a go-to place for me. I love Chinese food and to think that Wong's food is now "slop" is a sad statement about Wong's. But I must apply that rating because at least last night it was slop. I usually order three or four different things. Last night it was Hot and sour Soup, 2 Egg Rolls, Chicken in Garlic Sauce, and Hunan Beef. The Hot and Sour Soup tasted like pepper. Not soup but pepper. They took the name very seriously. But they mostly concentrated on the Hot and not the Sour. I had two to three teaspoons of it then started choking. Two or three teaspoons took me about a minue to down. The choking lasted about 10 minutes. I was close to going to the hospital minute. The egg rolls were fine but nothing special, and the Hunan Beef was either too peppery (see a theme here), or too soft. In fact, it seemed the meet would disintegrate on the fork. I stopped after this and threw it all away. I couldn't stand it anymore. I waited weeks to have a meal from Wong's and this was the result. I would have enjoyed a meal from McDonalds much more. So if you want a decent meal, don't take a chance it was definitely not worth it and it might cost a trip to a hospital. Definitely not worth it (at least not now). Food was thumbs down, Service was standard for a take out place, and there was no such thing as ambiance. read more

UNDERCOOKED FOOD ! I have ordered from here previously and had no issues but this time me and my boyfriend got chicken and rice from here. We both got sick after eating some of it. The texture of the chicken was stringy and clearly not fully cooked. I came back to ask for a refund nicely and he told us to move out of the way because we're blocking her customers , then she played around in the food we brought back and told us that she feels it wasn't undercooked and that she wasn't giving me a refund because we ate some to taste it. There was also egg/pork rolls sitting out in a cardboard box on top of a filing type cabinet and I saw someone putting more egg/pork rolls in a cardboard box which is unsanitary. I'm not from the area and decided to find a Chinese restaurant after a football game. This place had good reviews and they were open late, so we gave it a try. They had Honey Walnut Shrimp on their menu which you don't normally see at take-out spots, only in Chinatown. I ordered that and a Chicken Lo Mein. It was probably one of the best lo meins I've ever had, next to Rising Tide in Chinatown Philly. The Walnut Shrimp wasn't too sweet either. Wong's was so very good at first but seems to be going downhill fast. Just ordered. My shrimp egg rolls were more than dripping in grease. It took 2 paper towels to even start to get rid of some of the grease. I was halfway through my shrimp egg roll and still hadn't come across any shrimp. Their food is okay, but if you are buying for a family good luck, their quarts are a 3 inch round and there is really only a pint in there, but they are trying to sell it as a quart. If you are single, are living in the area, or are you are a friend of theirs, this is your place but if you have more than 2 to feed stay as far away from this place as you can!!!!! do not go there, stay as far away as you can.
