I order from here while heading to my PT job. I thought I ordered General Tso EXTRA EXTRA spicy combo meal with an extra shrimp egg roll. Well I show up, pay for my food, get back into my car and open my bad. I look for my egg roll. That was decent at best. But wait a second.... Only 1 egg roll? I looked on my recipe. Nope. Just a regular general and sh. Egg roll. I get my my job and start to eat my food. No spicy AT ALL, and it is servered with WHITE RICE...... this is my 1st and only time I'll order/eat here. Ewwwww. No...just no. We decided to try this instead of our usual Golden Dragon in Gilbertsville and it was...not good. Everything looked and tasted "off". My House Special Chow Mein that was supposed to have pork, chicken and shrimp in it was 99% vegetable mush with a few scraps of what I think was chicken and tiny shrimp like you'd get in a can. It's sad what's become of this place. What once was an exceptional place for Chinese takeout is now at the lower end of the quality spectrum. Major decline in food quality, a likely fatal combination with ever-increasing menu prices. Would now advise going elsewhere. read more

Pretty decent Chinese if you're looking for that Americanized classic taste. The coconut shrimp and chicken was surprisingly good in sort of like a coconut yellow curry sauce vs the flaky fried stuff you'd normally see. No real comments on anything else. Exactly what you'd expect. read more

the food is not good. Even that would be tolerable since it's the only Chinese place in Oley. But the woman behind the counter is extremely rude. the first time she brought me a giant plate of onions. No idea why she thought that was what I wanted, but then she argued with me until someone else came out of the back and told her she was wrong. the second incident was that she didn't want me to eat in the restaurant and was very pushy trying to make me take it out. Finally she said OK and shoved a paper plate at me. I asked for a normal plate and she handed me a small eggroll side plate, then started loudly saying things in Chinese. Ok. I've ordered take out from this place at least a dozen times and have always thought the food was pretty good (let's say a 3 to 4 star). Tonight, we ate in the restaurant for the first time. Holy crap was it terrible. The lone waitress was the least pleasant and least competent server I've seen...maybe ever. I would write out all the ways she was terrible but I'm so annoyed with the whole experience is just don't have it in me (or just don't care). I will offer that we ordered 'family style' and when the plates of food arrived (one at a time) she asked if we needed plates to eat. Ummmm, how else would we serve ourselves from the dishes? When we replied in the affirmative, she went and got us styrofoam plates...and not even big dinner sized ones...maybe 8" foam plates. They have no alcohol, no liquor license. When we initially asked if they had Sapporo, the waitress Replied 'no beer' and walked away. When she came back later, we asked if we Could byob and she basically said no, The owners don't have a liquor license and won't let you bring it in either (in a 'the owners suck and working here is terrible' sort of way). Oh yeah, and my son flicked a 'cricket' off of the table when he sat down. When he later mentioned this we googled pictures of roaches and he decided that it probably wasn't a cricket after all. Not sure that I've ever given a 1 star rating on yelp before, but this experience deserved it. read more

i just downloaded yelp and came to see how high the stars are for this restaurant and im very surprised! ive ate here multiple times (including during covid) and ive been absolutely impressed with how they run their business and the outcome of the food! i normally get the Mei Fun and chicken on a stick and its always good! i highly recommend this place. read more

Solid Chinese food in Oley. Hong Kong is the third iteration of a Chinese restaurant that has occupied this spot in Oley over the last five years or so. I have to say it is the best of the three. First it was the China King, then it was the Oley Kitchen for a while. I hope these owners stay a while. Does anyone remember what was here before it was a Chinese restaurant? I think it was a video store. The new owners have done a nice job. They've made some minor changes to the decor that make it a little nicer. Maybe it's just lighting, but it seems more pleasant to me. The menu is the standardized American Chinese takeout menu that you've seen a million times, but they seem to do it with just a little more care than most other places. And they have a grasp of the concept of presentation. Not bad at all. Worth checking out. Four stars. read more

The order was wrong! The fried won tons were stale! This used to be a good Chinese take out! We weren't the only ones who's order was wrong!

We came across this place on random drive. Service was excellent--they gave us two bottled juices for our babies "on the house" and they were overall super friendly and attentive. Also gave us complimentary noodles and duck sauce, which was nice since a lot of places near me don't do that anymore. Food was great--I ordered orange chicken and, while not the best I've ever had, it was much better than any of my local places. Husband had Hunan Pork -- it was also flavorful and well prepared and his hot and sour soup had a very nice rich flavor. For a total bill of $16 and change I'd highly recommend this place. read more

I stopped in for lunch. I will not be returning as this establishment charges for hot tea,extra store bought noodles,and I ordered soup with my entree. They didn't tell me before hand. This padded and added to my bill that the total was almost comparable to eating at a Chinese Buffet for lunch! Wake up, this is not New York City,this is Oley PA. My first order of noodles were served on a tiny plate as was my refill. No bowl sized portions here. The tea pot was not even half filled. Don't be fooled as most of the entree dishes are served on chipped square plates. Square plates fool diners as they give the impression that you are getting a full sized serving.....WRONG!!! Round sized dinner plates give diners the full sized serving that they are entitled to as paying customers. The chicken and cashew was tiny thin pieces of chicken, some half pieces of cashews and some vegetables. I had better and in quality and quantity for about $1.00 less than I paid here. read more

We love this place -- the owners are very friendly. The food is great, although we're a bit stuck on the General Tso Chicken lunch special. The hot & sour soup is THE BEST we've ever had. Sometimes for a treat we get the steamed dumplings -- fabulous. And it's really inexpensive. Go there! read more

This was the second time I ordered from here. Ordering online was super easy. The disappointing part was the actual food. The last time I ordered, a shrimp egg roll and sweet and sour chicken was DRIPPING with grease. I went through 3-4 napkins to soak the grease up. Absolutely terrible. I always try new places twice to give them the benefit of the doubt, but This time...wasn't any different than the last. The egg rolls and fried scallops I ordered were dripping with grease and had to use napkins to soak up the grease. The Mei Fun I ordered, the noodles were NO WHERE near done. The food is by far the best chinese in the county. We live in Oley and received a flyer for "another" chinese restaurant opening. What stood out to me was the offering of brown rice and some more interesting chef's selections than normal for his area. The food is excellent. The owner/operator uses FRESH vegetables and makes some of his sauces from scratch.You feel as if you are a guest in their home- they are very friendly and accomodating.Yes, good fresh food takes a little more time to prepare but the result is SOOO worth the wait. We spoke to the owners at length and they had many nice things to say about our little town, people and schools.They chose this area from New York to make a home and business for their family. Please patronize this small business so we can keep some wonderful people and their delicious food close to home. read more

It doesn't matter what the name of this restaurant is, they consistently make some of the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I came back for another try after swearing them off. Perhaps the change of name meant new owners or cook. No dice. I went simple- pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. Both were bland with little redeeming qualities. The soup was laden with corn starch as a thickener and the rice was flavorless. If they change their name yet again, I won't be fooled. read more

Awesome! I was skeptical about this place for awhile, but we had to pick up some food kn the way to my grandparents. The resteraunt itself looks so neat. I also really enjoyed talking to the owner while trying to figure out what to order. They were extremely proud of the resteraunt and the food they make - it was really cool And for the food - loved it. I ended up eating too much. :/ I got some orange peel chicken and beef w/ mixed veggies. Everyone thought it was great. I cant wait to try some of their spicier stuff. The only reason I wrote this review is because I hope this place is around for awhile. Oley isn't exactly the most happening town, so I'm not sure how well they do. I have been looking for good Chinese food, and this is the best!! The owners are super-friendly, they use fresh ingredients so the food is fantastic, the decor is beautiful, and even their take-out containers are wonderful! (The take-out containers are both microwave safe AND dishwasher safe!) There are no cut corners here, and it's the best of everything. I would definitely recommend this place!! read more

I pass this location almost every day and thought that it was worth a try. Chef's special Happy Family was mediocre at best. Mostly chiecken and carrots. The lo mein was greasy. Portions were smaller than the quart size that we ordered. I am not going back. read more

Order 2 steamed chicken and vegetable dinners last night , which normally would cost us just under $15.00, but now cost just under $23.00. Food was not that great and there usually is soo much that you have left overs, but this time portions were smaller and no leftovers. Would not try again especially at that price. read more

Had the Moo Goo Gai Pan-possibly the best I've ever had in my many years of eating it, including Chinatown in Philly!
