Please avoid purchasing from Wood Heat. Wood Heat has quite literally ruined our ability to have a properly insulated home in any season. We moved to PA from Montana, and know what a good wood stove can mean for your home. This company does not seem to take care of its customers or their homes, and I would not recommend them for your wood stove or fireplace purchases or installations. The purchase and installation of our home's wood stove was performed by Wood Heat in Quakertown. The stove was installed incorrectly, such that two intake ducts are ported externally to outside. This is incorrect even by the manufacturer's own installation manual and instructions, and Wood Heat staff were surprised to see the final setup and identified and admitted that this is an incorrect installation, and would result in constant cold air from outside coming into the house in wintertime (and defeat AC in summertime) Our wood stove is currently a permanent source of direct, ice-cold air from outside the home. Our stove now works day and night to overcome this draft, while our oil heat works to actually heat the home. Wood Heat has quite literally ruined our ability to have a properly insulated home in any season. We took this discovery back to them, asking if they would consider either making it right, or if we could even HIRE them to do the required work to correct the installation. They were very kind, but dismissive of being hired to do work to fix the issue, uninterested in even being having an install crew come out and be paid for the work to fix their own mistake. It was as if they completed their sale, and didn't care to follow up on a poor job. We were literally told, in the same breath, that they recognize this was installed incorrectly, but they wouldn't help us or be hired to help us fix it, but we could "probably do it ourselves". This is an external wall of our home, and a stove masoned into the wall and chimney - we are absolutely not professionals, nor should we be left to make a mess of a professional installation, or our home. We're incredibly frustrated by the damage to our home, and their disinterest in "a job well done". They seem motivated solely by immediate sales - not customer success (or retention). A shoutout only for one great salesman/technician who discussed the issue with us, and was incredibly helpful, but knew the company overall (confirmed by our later talking to the manager to ask if we could hire them for the fix) would never be interested in making this right read more

we've had our fireplace insert for 25 years now and this is the first time we've needed a service call. That speaks for the high-quality of units that Woodheat sells. The first comment is that they showed up on time when they promised. Donovan was the service technician and highly professional. explained what the issues was and what was going to be done to fix it. all the cleaning was performed at a reasonable timeframe. Customers beware. This company is TERRIBLE. Their customer service is non-existent. While quick to sell....they take forever scheduling install....when they finally arrive they are rude and unprofessional. We thought we were done with them after this....it was a nice two years. Unfortunately our wood stove insert recently had three bolts fracture while our chimney was being cleaned. We contacted Wood Heat....sent them pictures. They initially suggested that I drill out the bolts myself. I shared that I wasn't experienced in that work. They subsequently scheduled service weeks from my initial contact. I called to assure that their repair technician after reviewing the photos was confident he could repair the damaged bolts. They then asked me to purchase a Tap & Die set (I guess their technician doesn't own tools); I did this in anticipation of the repair. I called to confirm that the technician felt with these tools he could repair the damaged bolts....I was then told that I would need to hire a machinist. Here is their email: 'The owner has reviewed the pictures and he is not even sure we have the proper tools. He wants to review it with our senior service coordinator. If you need a more immediate response you might discuss this with a machinist who has tapping equipment tools.' I replied that I bought the Tap & Die set as they had requested and got no response. I called a different Wood Heat store and while they could see my sales information they had no knowledge of the problem/photos I had sent/etc. despite using the same service team. They then said that I would be charged for the service even though the unit was under warranty and even if they were unable to repair the damage. I have ZERO confidence in this company's ability to fix an issue - that for all I know was present since install. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you look elsewhere if you are adding a fireplace/wood buring stove/or any other item they carry to your home. read more

I called for service on our pellet stove when it had an error code I could not remedy. The site was easy to use and request a call. The staff that called me back was quick to set me up with the next available appointment which was only a couple weeks out. Then Donovan came out to the house and quickly identified the issue, walked me through what happened and how he was going to fix it as well as some extra cleaning I could do to help with the unit's efficiency in the future. He worked very clean and was in and out in just over an hour. We appreciate the professional manner in which everyone at Wood Heat acted and will be future customers for sure. read more

I purchased a ton of tru wood pellets from woodheat, normally I would buy a few bags to try them first but at $319 a ton I wrongly assumed they would be of high quality. In 16 years of buying pellets Tru wood is by Far the WORST pellet brand I have ever used, they are extremely high ash content and at least 1/2 a pound of dry fine sawdust in every bag. No exaggeration when I say I had to wear a dust mask to load them, my entire basement is coated in dust, I called to complain and a very rude individual informed me that no one else had problems with them so basically tough shit. This business will never last with their arrogance and bad attitude so do yourself a favor, GO ELSEWHERE. Tractor supply pellets are far superior at only $239 a ton. read more

My experience here was not good... we waited at least 20 minutes while we browsed the small store.. 1 rep informed us that the next available rep would be with us... after he, himself bypassed us, only to stand there another 2 minutes til the next customers came in and was quickly greeted by a rep coming from a lower level... This company continues to blow me away with how unprofessional and rude their entire management team is. We have had issues with them since October, and while the owner has no problem LYING and twisting scenarios behind a computer, he is conveniently never there when we call (I should say, he's there until he finds out it's a customer with an issue). They have claimed we owe them money, but both invoices have been paid and checks have been cashed. When we contacted the Better Business Bureau about how their management has lied, hung up on us, made fun of where we live and how "far out" it is, and say derogatory things about my husband while recording a video on how to repair something...his only response was that we owed him money and were verbally abusive (which we weren't, at all). When we demanded a copy of the invoice outstanding all of a sudden there wasn't an issue. Ironically, Todd was still no where to be found and refused to talk to myself or my husband. They are FABULOUS when you are wanting to drop a few thousand dollars, but immediately after that they are AWFUL. I would stay as far away from them as possible. We had another company come out and inform us that not only was Wood Heat trying to force us into needing a part that was 3 times the cost of what was actually needed, but that they didn't service our pellet stove properly from day one. I've since spoken with several individuals who have had business relationships with them, and they are not surprised. If you value service, avoid Wood Heat. The general attitude of their management seems to be "We're the only game in town so we'll get to it when we get to it." We waited a month for a service appointment to clean our QuadraFire Mt Vernon pellet stove and replace the control board. Despite having shared pictures of the damaged parts well in advance and having discussed the issue with the service manager, their service rep was not sent with an essential wire harness. Mike was very friendly and capable but could not say when the part would be available. He did suggest that he could just use one from a floor model and that it would take no time to plug in. He was a nice guy and I appreciated that he seemed to care. The following morning I get a credit card alert that I've been charged $1000 for their service call. This was frustrating to see as my stove is still not functional and no one has let me know when it will be fully repaired. I called the service manager but she was curt and unsympathetic. They might be able to get the part in 7-10 days and then can try to schedule something. Oh, and there will be a $129 service fee to plug in the wire harness they'd forgotten to send along. She said I could try to get someone else to do it and wished me luck finding the part since it's not listed in the owner's manual. Are these the kind of people you want to rely on? If you'd like your service to be as reliable as your QuadraFire, look elsewhere. I'll be sharing this experience with QuadraFire too as they deserve better people representing their products. Follow up: I'd shared a picture of the damaged wire harness in advance and was also told by their service manager that the repair kit they send usually includes this wire but mine didn't for some reason. As you can see, there remains no accountability for this error. They're also perfectly comfortable taking $1000 for an incomplete job. Wood Heat should realize that if you buy an expensive pellet stove from them that you're going to want to use it as much as you can. That if you wait a month and pay $1000 for service that you're going to expect it to actually be fixed. And, if they want to charge you $129 to plug in the wire they forgot that you're going to want to find a new dealer. Watch your step here. read more

Last year, our pellets were delivered to someone else and we were never notified. When we called the day they were to be delivered. Tim informed of us of the error 15 mins before our appt was to end. Then, they couldn't reschedule. Then, they said they would call Monday...then, no phone call from wood heat. We had to call them AGAIN! Then we have to wait two more weeks for the product we purchased. When I called to discuss with Tim, he was arrogant. He, and I QUOTE stated "you just have to deal with it" well he was correct. I had to deal with it. We did get our pellets finally. BUT They sent the wrong ones. I'm not sure if it was an error or an apology. This year AGAIN....we had an appt for a 4 ton delivery , it was confirmed via a rushed phone call....then followed up by my husband to have W.H call us back to ensure the billed a different card. We never received a call back....then they again never showed up or called. Sadly, we fell for it again and gave them a second chance. The excuse this time was a problem with the truck and there will be no deliveries at all today. Excuses galore from this company. It is disgraceful to run a business in this manner. I get things happen, but twice in two years, shame on you. You need education on how to run a business, because your gonna run this one into the ground if you continue to burn bridges with customers. Bought a Heat N Glo unit in 2013... not only was it originally improperly installed, but it has been serviced 4 times in 5 years for several different issues including, pilot assembly, loose wiring and reconstruction of unit. Their customer service has not been the best as I have been unable to speak with a manager and have to wait weeks for a service tech. read more

What a great experience. We had problems with a competitor taking 2 months to get an estimate, so we went to WoodHeat for a second opinion. Todd and Mark in Quakertown were fantastic and worked us up a professional estimate for a better gas unit including a mantle in 45 minutes. Installer Josh and his helper Nick could not have been more professional, and they overcame every obstacle our 50+ year old home threw at them. Don't even bother trying to have your fireplace serviced, even if purchased from them! We started calling Wood Heat in October to have our gas fireplace, that we had purchased from them, serviced because we were strongly smelling propane when used. My husband called 3 times over the course of a month, leaving voicemails. I started calling in November. I left 2 voicemails and filled out a request for service form on their website. They didn't even bother to call us back or email that they were too busy. We finally called Ambler Fireplace and they came out in 2 weeks right after the holidays. It was unfortunate that we were unable to enjoy our fireplace at our Christmas party or at our Thanksgiving dinner. Don't waste your time...just call someone else! read more

NEVER do business with these people!!!! First of all they seem super nice until you sign the contract. First we were lied to by the sales guy about the current status of our installation. Then the installer never even showed up! They weren't prepared to complete the job aren't even certified to be doing what they do and don't even bother speaking to the owner! He is a liar, nasty, jerk of a guy. He was rude and incredibly arrogant even though daddy built and gave him the business. Finally the improperly installed our wood fire insert and actually almost killed us bec there was no ventilation we had to pay someone who knew what they were doing to fix it. I like my stove but there service after the sale is awful. If you have a real problem forget about their concern for you, they don't have any. My sales person, Matt, stopped talking to me immediately after I made the second half of my payments. I began by telling him about the over firing problem I was having and he said, Do you have your credit card handy?...Then he had to go. I still have have my over firing problem and they are still not coming out to correct it. Quadra Fire is. Should I mention that my chimney is 3 and a half feet under code and that I have smoke back drafting into my house on windy nights? Yeah, I do. Do thou think Wood Heat got back to me after I sent them a video of the stove smoking? No. Like the other review said "Like a puff of smoke they were gone". I would still buy the stove I did, I would just drive a little bit further and buy it from a store with out such bad reviews and simplify my life. I don't need/have time for this aggravation. They also never got a permit. Oh, as far far as the installation of the chimney, just so you are comparing apples to apples, they don't trim out the pipe coming through the wall with a block and J channels. Just a round hole, nails through a sheet of flashing and a lot of caulk. Here they didn't even bring out the right size pipe to go through the wall; they used a 20" piece to go through a 2x4 wall so my chimney is about 7 inches away from my house hanging there. They must have known this when they loaded the truck, what I was in store for, and from start to finish they just never cared. And whats more it leaks water inside when it rains too. In response to 10/28 The chimney report reads no such thing. It reads that YOU Todd were suppose to review the installers work. If you did, it was YOU, not me, who gave the work the okay. YOU are the chimneys installer. I am a homeowner. (Remember?) Also, chasing you away? A white unmarked van showed up in my driveway and someone jumps out of a van, runs past my wife, doesn't introduce himself, and starts taking pictures of our house all while I am getting my kids ready for school, in the morning, without an appointment. Be glad I, or my neighbors, didn't call the police. But, I don't call taking pictures "helping" anyway. It sounds like a spin to me. After 40 years experience, this is how you do business? Wood heat is located on 309 and I drive past it on my way to work. I stopped in multiple times over the course of about two months to get as much info as possible from the sales staff there about pellet stoves. When I finally decided to buy is where my experience started to go downhill fast. First, I was told I was the first job for the day, so I took off work and after 12 noon I called and was told they had to go to a stop in the morning and that I was second on the list. Then, the installed put clear silicone on the pipes and spray painted it black... then left without testing the stove! Never brought any pellets to the job so I asked for someone to come out and test the stove which is industry standard. I got back an E-mail explaining that they would give me a free bag of pellets if I wanted one. Huh? I wasn't concerned about a $5.00 bag of pellets I want a "professional" which I paid over $500 to come install the stove to be there and explain things to me. A service tech never returned and I had to play phone tag with the service department (which was very nice, thanks to Jim) before finally getting all my issues resolved. Stopped in the store to get my "$50.00 credit" the salesman (Jon Taylor) told me I would receive only to be told I would have to post a picture or write a testimonial on their website in order to get it. (I talked to a manager and got it anyway) Plus, Jon would barely look at me and never even said HI... Never got any money refunded to me for the parts they did not use on the install either. Horrible service!!!!! Didn't return calls, didn't show up for service call! Re-scheduled service call and they some how deleted my appointment so they didn't show up for the re-scheduled appointment. We were recommended Wood Heat by a friend. We were in the market to purchase 2 pellet stoves for our new house. Customer service was fantastic prior to the purchase. We were explained the different stoves and how each function and operate. We purchased and had them installed in December. That is where the fantastic customer service ends. We have had continuous problems with the one stove since it was installed (a month and a half ago). We have had service out to "fix" the problem twice. The third time I asked if the entire stove could be replaced because clearly something is not right with the stove. I submitted a request to Wood Heat for service, they didn't officially get back to me and that was 5 days ago. I called Wood Heat the next day they were open, spoke to 2 different sales people both stated they would get back to me within 24 hours. Didn't hear from them on Friday called Saturday and was told they were with a customer, 2 hours later called again and was told they were with a customer, about 2.5 hours later attempted to call again and Wood Heat was closed. Clearly they are happy to take $9000, but not as willing to back their products they are selling. STAY AWAY FROM WOOD HEAT. There are plenty of other stove dealers, try someone else. My next step is disputing the charge with Wells Fargo. I don't want to pay $2500 for something that isn't working properly. read more

Recently my pellet stove that I purchased here stopped working, so I filled out the on line service form. After a couple of days and no call I called the store. Of course no one from the service department would answer the phone so I left a message and waited for a return call. After a week of being ignored I called Ambler Fireplace a nice girl answered the phone I explained the problem and she set up a day that they would come out. After she got my info she told me to check a few things and if it worked to call back and cancel the appointment. The guys from Ambler came out, on time, checked everything out and had it fixed in a reasonable amount of time. Ambler is a little more expensive but well worth it. You would think Wood Heat would at least hire someone to answer the phone and set up appointments during the busy season. Most people understand when it's busy you can't get same day service but at least talk to people!!! Still waiting for that call back.. read more

You can buy a stove from them but DO NOT LET THEM INSTALL IT!!! I have been in the chimney service industry for over 10 years... when a customer tells me they have a stove and wood heat did the installation I cringe... they may have a good selection of stoves and I don't know much about their pricing or sales but I know they are NOT the company to do your install.... I have seen many of their installations that are either poor or flat out dangerous.... buying a stove from them is fine if it is what you are looking for but please don't let them install it.... we get a great deal of work re doing their installations. .. I have seen several wood burning inserts they had installed in factory built chimneys... this is almost always against the UL listing of the fireplace, the liner, and the wood stove.... if you purchase their wood stoves or inserts please have a different company install it... it may be more expensive but at least it will be safe and done correctly read more

I would NEVER recommend doing bushiness with these people. They are criminals! I called several times trying to talk to a technician about an issue I was having with my stove. My phone call was never returned. When I finally got a hold of someone they only said they would have a technician come out. I was fine with that as the stove wasn't working. Prior to the service man arriving, I cleaned my stove to the point you could almost eat out of it, the technician even complimented the job i had done when he arrived. I had all the pellets out of the hopper because I though there was a problem with the auger and i figured it would be easier for him to access it with no pellets in his way. When he showed up he was there for 10 minutes checked the vacuum tube I had already cleaned because I thought it was a vacuum problem first but then he looked at the stove and said "oh with this model you have to have about half a hopper full in order to trigger the vacuum switch to click on" dumped half a pail of pellets into the stove and handed me a bill for $200. Are you serious? You couldn't tell me that over the phone. Never doing business here again and I do not recommend you do. When I called to discuss a reduction in fees the owner was inconsiderate and rude. I wasn't asking for a free bee i was still will to pay for the guys time and gas I thought $200 was a little steep. Very poor service! I agree with all the one stars. This place has some serious customer service issues. They will charge you $189 to simply step in your home and do a 5 minute eval and nothing else. If, anything further needs to be done (but can't be done one at that initial visit- which it won't be able to done), they will charge you an additional $189 (if it's been over a week which it will be if you need a part) to step back in your home. Last year I spent nearly $600 to fix something which I've come to learn 9 months later was either not fixed properly or was a faulty part. I'll need to spend another $378 to find out. NO WAY!!! The service manager told me that "service is expensive"; that the manufacturer's warranty is 90 days - well, I had it serviced in May and we all know that we don't run our fireplaces over the summer to locate any product defects. So, now they won't stand behind the part or their service. If you live in the LV and have a Heat and Glo fireplace, then there are other MUCH MORE reasonable service providers. The business I just called not only has rates that are cheaper but they pro-rate it and won't charge anything but a gas fee, if they don't need to do anything. WoodHeat, that's a much more reasonable way to run a business! read more
