It is a nice store they have, the employees were helpful and the prices were great for the rental! Returning the U-Haul truck was easy too! The entire transaction went smoothly and I know I'll be back to see what other services and products they have, as I live 2 minutes away. However, the store can be a bit easy to miss, especially if you are coming down Schoolhouse Road. They do have a sign, you just need to keep an eye out for it. You can also come down Nice Road from Allentown Road, but the road isnt quite...nice (ironically, I know). Whichever way you choose, Bishops is definitely worth checking out!

$25,000... for TWO Christmas Trees?!…read more I don't normally blast a business on social media, but this one... this one deserves it. And honestly, I need to vent before my head explodes like an overinflated ornament. As many of you know, my wife and I recently moved into a big, beautiful new home. So, wanting to do something special for her first Christmas in it, I decided to surprise her by having the inside professionally decorated for the holidays. The plan was simple: we'd walk up to the front door after our Thanksgiving cruise, she'd see a single elegant wreath, open the door, and BAM--Christmas magic. Hallmark-movie level brilliance. Something she'd remember forever. Well... she'll remember it. Not in a good way. I found a company online called Black Eyed Susan in Doylestown. I spoke with Susan herself -- and in hindsight, the red flags were waving like a parade. But I ignored them, gave her a $25,000 budget, sent photos of the house, arranged access while we were away, and paid a deposit. Fast-forward to the big reveal. We pull up to the house, and instead of holiday wonder... We're greeted by two massive flower pots tipped over on the front steps. Dirt everywhere. My wife is already annoyed. We spend 10 minutes trying to lift the things before realizing the bottoms are ROUND. Not flat. ROUND. Who even designs pots that way? The answer: someone selling overpriced junk. But hey, maybe the inside would redeem things... right? Spoiler alert: it didn't. We open the door expecting Christmas brilliance, and instead--we get... A Christmas tree in the foyer. Just one. And not even a remarkable one. Literally just... a tree. And some droopy, wilted green garland that looked like it had fought a battle with a weed whacker and lost. That's it. For the whole entryway. We turn the corner into the family room, and there's another Christmas tree -- this one comically oversized, like it was trying to escape from a shopping mall. A few random glass balls dangled from the upstairs walkway. Four windows got lonely ornaments. And the mantle -- which on Susan's website looks glamorous and luxurious -- had the saddest strand of wilted garland you've ever seen. I've seen more impressive greenery at Home Depot in JULY. So for $25,000, what did we actually get? Two Christmas trees and some wilted greenery. That's it. That's the whole list. After a few days of trying to reason with Susan the Snob -- who, by the way, speaks to customers like she's hand-selecting decor for the Queen of England -- I realized something: My wife was supposed to get a Hallmark Christmas. Instead, I accidentally hired the villain of the movie. I even tried to be MORE than fair. I told her she could take everything back and keep $10,000 just for her "time." But nope. Susan the Snob decided she wants ANOTHER $5,000 from me. $5,000. For... what exactly? The dirt on my porch? Feel free to tell her what you think of that idea. And finally -- if anyone wants two giant, overbearing Christmas trees for next year... come get them. Free of charge. Because we will NEVER be using them again.

I called them repeatedly to fix the lawn and they have ignored my phone calls and attempts to contact them online. I was quoted $2500 to fix the lawn. And I have filed a BBB complaint in the meantime.

Matt's bid was competitive and fair, and he demonstrated a depth of knowledge and familiarity that made me immediately comfortable hiring him. Due to scheduling conflicts with another contractor installing a deck for me, I threw Matt a few curveballs. At least twice I had to ask him to move his start date, and when his team did arrive, the deck contractors were totally in his way. Throughout, Matt was patient and focused on his work. The guys he brought with him worked tirelessly over four days to excavate, remove old materials, prepare proper drainage missing from the old wall, rebuild the wall with new EP Henry pavers and regrade the area around the new wall - as well as around my driveway. Matt and his crew went above and beyond, doing extra regrading work not included in his estimate at no additional charge. And they cleaned up the work area at the end of the job beautifully. The wall looks so good that the old, shabby brick pavers by my pool now look sad by comparison. I'll be asking Matt Burns to come back to address that issue, and others, in the future. Andrew and Steve are master craftsman with a keen eye to minute details. I contacted them to…read moreconstruct an interior PA blue stone pad for my new wood stove and also to install stone veneer on two of the walls. Andrew and Steve are not just stone masons and have excellent skills in both interior and exterior construction that comes in handy when the unforeseen glitch pops up. For example they were able to reinforce the floor to support the very heavy weight of the pad and stove. While working in the basement on the floor reinforcement, Andrew noticed that there was a bump in the basement concrete floor that I lamented had been tripping me every time I did the laundry. Without hesitation, he went to his truck for some tools and remedied that rather large bump at no additional charge. Steve is an artisan, and created a real show piece backdrop to the Vermont castings red stove. The pattern and color variation he put forth is truly amazing and far exceeded my expectations. There was one stone that I felt was a little off in color, and they had no pushback, and were completely open to replacing it albeit while the stone had not fully set, but it was obvious their goal was 100% customer satisfaction. The cuts for outlets, windows, and ceilings were flawless and the mortar joints between stones was applied perfectly. I learned that Andrew is a 2nd generation mason, and he and Steve had been training under his dad since they were kids. I had to travel out of town, and had no worries leaving them the keys to finish the job. They are great communicators and completely trust-worthy. When icy cold rain was forecast Andrew called the night before to alert me of the threatening weather and left it that he would revisit the workday in the morning. He called bright and early to "ASK" if we could postpone a day as he would be cutting the stone and mixing mortar outside. I of course agreed. They also coordinated with the stove installers to help wrangle the very heavy stove pad onto the frame they had built. Andrew and Steve are team players and also a great team, with complimentary skills and eyes that truly ensures a beautiful job. They cleaned up every day and left the job, spotless with no debris. They have my highest recommendation and can handle any masonry job at hand. 6 Stars out of 5!!!!!

In November of 2017, my husband and I started the purchase of a fireplace at Ambler Fireplace and Patio on Butler Pike in Ambler. We were replacing an existing gas insert fireplace. After the company evaluated our space and we completed the necessary electrical work, the fireplace was installed in January 2018. That is when the nightmare began. All seemed well for the first few weeks, but since then until now, the fireplace has frequently stopped working. Maintenance was included in the price for the first year. The technicians did come to repair the unit, but the fixes never lasted too long. Initially we were able to schedule repair within a week or two, but that changed as the years went on. In 2022 and 2023, wait time for repair appointments was months. At one point, I even scheduled a repair when my fireplace was still working because it broke so often. Two times, after months of waiting for our service call, we received a phone call from Ambler Fireplace the day before the appointment to cancel and reschedule our appointment. We complained vociferously and they relented and kept our appointments. The last appointment that we had was January 2023. By May, the fireplace was no longer working. I called and asked to speak to the service manager to try to understand the need for such frequent repairs and what we could do to get the fireplace in working order. I was told that I would receive a return call. After several days with no return call, I called again. I was told in a very nasty and insulting tone of voice that Ambler Fireplace would no longer service our unit. We asked to speak to Rick Urie, executive officer of Ambler Fireplace, but he was not available and did not return our call. In June 2023, my husband sent a letter to him. Mr. Urie did not respond. We are in the process of replacing the defective fireplace that was sold to us by Ambler Fireplace. We spent thousands of dollars to purchase the unit and make repairs. Ambler Fireplace does not stand behind their products. They are not honorable or trustworthy. Buyer beware! read more

We have always wanted a custom outdoor gas fire pit since we moved to our house 10 years ago, it just never made it to to the top of the priority list. We decided this would be our Christmas present to ourselves so we went to Ambler Fireplace in Colmar. We were greeted right away and the sales person was informative, helpful, and most importantly not pushy. He asked all the right questions and we decided on the 30" round burner for the fire pit to be put in our custom outdoor area being built by our landscaper. The sales person worked out the details with the contractor and within 3 weeks it was complete and working without a hitch. We have been enjoying it almost every night since and are now the envy of the neighborhood. Would highly recommend. read more

My 1996 Heatilator stopped working and I so wanted it to be fixed before I left for FLA so that my daughter could be toasty warm here while I was there :) Starting with Kristin who set up my appointment, to Fred who came to look service my old unit, to Tiara who told me that they actually COULD get an ignitor for it, to Susan who worked with me SO HARD to get the part installed the only day I was available before I left, the customer service and knowledge base at this company was unsurpassed. Recently noticed a leak coming from our chimney after a storm. I called Ambler Fireplace and had a technician come out to take a look. The technician determined it was a crack at the top of the chimney and advised me on redoing the top where the crack was, and that it was originally done incorrectly as well. They said they could repair it right then and had the materials to do it. Very pleased with the service and professionalism of the technicians as well as the quality of their work. When Ryan saw that I was an artist, he suggested we work with an interior designer to make the room into a gallery for my work. Nick and Phil are also gifted carpenters and were able to carry out the vision of the designer to make a stunning new room for us. I got a number of bids to have my new home's chimneys re-crowned as well as having a new cap installed on one of them. What ended up making me choose to have SHCS complete this work for me was how quickly my quote request was returned, the honesty in Bob's answers to all my questions. I contacted Bob in late December and he explained the work couldn't be done till spring but that he'd take a look at my chimneys and get me a quote, which he did immediately. When I agreed to have him do the work he scheduled me for spring and as soon as it was warm enough I got a call to schedule the work. He explained the weather looked clear for the coming Tuesday which worked well for us so I agreed. He than showed up on Friday the week before and completed the work because the weather was nicer than expected. Who can complain about quicker service?!?!? All that said, the thing that really pushed me to a 5 star review the most was the emails I got immediately following the work as well as a call confirming the work was completed. But the email really did it for me, it included my work order and before and after photos of the work. That is one of those little things that makes a huge difference to me and honestly Bob was already pretty set for 5 stars before the email. Finally no more leaky chimney that the previous owners neglected. TL;DR - fantastic service, ideal pricing and before and after photos emailed as promptly as possible.

Even though I purchased that shade from another (online) vendor, they were happy to provide me with the service I needed. Their service was excellent! I recently had an issue where I thought the motor was not working properly even after I change the batteries and did all of the troubleshooting requirements on my own. When I called BSS, Ann in Customer service helped me go through the troubleshooting checklist before telling me to bring the shade back so that they could fix whatever the problem may be. The only thing I did not do in my initial troubleshooting was use lithium batteries in the wand. I always used non-lithium batteries, which worked fine. So in the last effort, I purchase some lithium batteries and sure enough that did the job! I truly appreciated the time and patience that Ann took with me to help me fix this problem on my own. I will continue to use BSS over and over again for future purchases.

Bought my Toro TimeMaster there probably 15 years ago and have serviced after every season. A few…read moreyears ago, I hit a Lacrosse Ball and the twin Blades clanged off each other. Yeah, It took several weeks since it was mid Summer and all the Contractors that keep them in business had them busy but the mower came back running great. Now I have it in for year end service and it appears that the bearings had been damaged previously and now need replacement but still, only a couple of weeks and fair price for the work. I'm too old to do my own mechanic work anymore but I do know what it takes so Yeah, they do good work and always help off and on load my mower. I didn't realize that I could just use the small dock around back too.
