Paid $450…read more They delivered about 2/3 cord of what looks like decent firewood, some cut long but most at the standard 16". The remaining 1/3 cord was small cuts, wedges and odd shapes. These were impossible to stack properly, so I piled them up at the near end of the stack and got it all under a tarp before the rain. Looks like a fair measure, even generous, but it's hard to say with so many odds and ends. I've been burning this wood the last 2 weeks. I'm disappointed to say that a lot of it is just downright wet. I tried a bunch of logs with my moisture meter and found that most of them were over 30% moisture. I was really clear in my communications that I wanted dry wood. So, 2 stars for fair measure, fast and very friendly delivery. Knocked off a star for so much un-stackable ends (maybe that's what he meant by "mixed", I assumed it meant a mix of different woods) and two stars because so much of the wood is so wet.

Only to find out the wood doesn't burn well and/or less volume of wood than advertised. A neighbor highly recommended Steve Sims Almond Firewood. Based on our recent experience and the load we received, we couldn't be more impressed with them! From start to finish, the entire process of contacting & ordering was super easy. Steve's communication was great, we scheduled the delivery; in our case, Steve was able to deliver next day to avoid some forecasted rain. They were prompt and arrived when promised. The firewood itself was excellent -- well-seasoned, dry, cut nicely into 16" lengths and ready to burn. Nice selection of split and rounds. Easy to light, burns hot with a nice flame and minimal ash. I measured the amount of wood delivered (I've been 'burned' before) I was pleased to receive even more than I ordered. Their well-seasoned almond wood is nicely split and consistently very clean; never caked in mud or debris, and cut uniformly for super symmetrical stacking. I discovered them circa 2019 when I had a stainless-steel liner installed in my chimney for worry-free hardwood heating with my Buck Stove insert. I had called and left a message which was promptly returned by Laura with a very reasonable quote for split, seasoned and DELIVERED almond firewood, and a delivery date within the week. Laura called the day before delivery to confirm the time, and Mark and his assistant arrived right on schedule at 0'Dark:30 to dump my cord of wood as close to my wood storage as possible. This made it SO easy for me to stack it by transferring it with just a few steps, no wheelbarrow needed. Mark's skills at backing into a tight space with close attention to the eaves of the house and overhead wires was absolutely amazing! And the perfectly cut wood in his truck was stacked so tightly and precisely in rows that there was clearly no shortage to my order. This has been my experience every single year since then. I was compelled to share this to neutralize any unfounded negative posts against this honest and reliable family business.
