Had the fish and chips. 2 dry pieces of fish that lemon or sauce could not help. Kept getting stuck in my teeth. Had to stop eating. Gotten twice the amount of juicy delicious fish elsewhere for less money. Fries were cold and limp. Also ordered disappointing salad. Salad was chopped,half limping,no egg, the so called bacon was the bacon bits you get in a jar. Waste of money again. Steaks are preseasoned, if that is to your taste. Would consider this closer to a 3.5, mainly because of service and not the food. Wood n tap is a local chain with quite a few locations and a decent loyalty program. Came here on short notice with a large group from work and quickly got a private room assigned (nice!) With a really nice dedicated waitress. She was the best part of the experience always there and making sure the team was taken care of. Ambiance was nice as well, nice wooden tables, rustic modern vibe, definitely got the upscale bar vibe going. Pricing isn't too bad, drinks are reasonable and food prices reflect an upscale bar atmosphere. A few issues though, minor and major - parking is a pain, good if they're busy but parking lot not big enough and the area isn't conducive to street parking. Never a fan of stressing about parking. Bigger issue is the food quality is very mediocre. Chicken tenders looked worse and cost more than raising canes (and weren't crispy nor full of chicken). Nachos lacked enough topping - it was like 80% chips... you can't skimp on the cheese... or the meat. Fries weren't that crispy... wings were decent but definitely not enough blue cheese for a double order (should have brought 2 or 3, not just 1). Would like to come back here if the food can match the rest of the venue. read more

"I'm not no red football To be kicked around the garden" (Sinead O'Connor) If you live in Connecticut, the odds are pretty damned good that you've visited one of Wood n Tap's ten locations, including one just over the state line in West Springfield, MA. They offer very good casual dining, a nice bar, and a great Happy Hour menu. Today, we discovered they also feature a pretty sweet NFL Game Day menu available only for "Dine In Bar Room" customers. We were driving home from Boston while listening to the NY Giants-Cleveland Browns game on my phone, it was 2:30, and we were hungry. My wife had a brainstorm to stop for lunch at Wood n Tap to catch some of the game on FOX TV. We sat in the bar and saw they had five televisions up on the walls, showing a variety of games. The Giants game seemed to be their primary offering because the audio feed was piped into the bar, and eventually, I discovered it was also piped into their Unisex restroom. Their NFL Game Day Menu had some awesome values on it. For $12.99 you can choose from Bites-n-Chicks (Mini chicken sliders served on potato rolls with French fries, Bar Bites (mini Angus burgers topped with American cheese, pickles and house made Honey Dijon), an Angus burger topped with American Cheese, pickles, onion and a tangy sauce, Bar Chicks (Blackened chicken with American cheese, caramelized onions and chipotle aioli, or Island Chicks (Caribbean seasoned grilled chicken with citrus slaw and mango aioli). These deals are available Monday, Thursday, and Sunday during NFL games. I went with a bowl of their Chili ($8.99) and my wife ordered the Bar Bites mini burgers with Tater Tots ($12.99). I loved the flavor of the chili, plenty of ground meat, onions, beans, a dollop of cheddar, and some sneaky heat. It was served with five tortilla chips wedged into the bowl. My only complaint is that the portion size seemed a little light. Yes, it was served in a big bowl, but I doubt there was more than an inch and a half of chili inside that cavernous bowl. The hamburger sliders were great, as were the Tater Tots, but let's be honest, Tater Tots are ALWAYS great, aren't they? When our bill came, we were surprised to see the burgers rang up at the regular price of $16.99 instead of the football special deal at $12.99. We questioned our server, who didn't seem to know much about the football specials, but when we showed her the football menu advertising the sliders at $12.99, she apologized and admitted she didn't realize that was the case. At least she honestly admitted her mistake and rang up a new bill for us. read more

LOL to the tappin (tappan if your hudson valley) update, been over a decade (!!) and theyre still doing some construction. also updated, this yelper is now up to a natural 5top if you catch my drift, although, only 4 participated for this update. i liked my food, it was somewhat reasonably priced, although up-charged lemonade when its all ice ice baby?? i got the whisky burger, smokey! fries were fresh, so that helped. service was trying their best, i could see it, no deductions, i play fair. as you can see, im updating and upgrading, mostly for overall value. feed 3 plus a kids menu (not thrilled about that lemonade), and the fish tacos go ala carte could have been a bit more filling, but it was somewhat reasonable overall. i would explore with the 5 of us with another groupon/deal somewhere, but knowing its a hundo easy, still tuff pretzel to chew. happy to flip flop my attitude. read more

Food was good, but portions were very small. Our side order of french fries looked like McDonald's french fries and they were on a tiny little plate. We added chicken to our salads and they gave us one small little piece of chicken. Prices are very high for what you get. read more

I love their salads, especially when you can add a choice of protein. They also do take out meals that come with different packages to suit your needs and the price is very fair. It's a casual restaurant with a bar room where you can also dine in. Parking is okay but they have valet for the crazy peak hours. Service is hit or miss depending on your server. It's a great atmosphere to do happy hour or dine in with friends. I recommend it. read more

So.....it's a Sunday night.....I started off somewhere else and their kitchen closed so I opt for this place. I call ahead and ask if they're still serving food...."oh yeah up until like 10:30." I'm like cool. So I walk in and they tell me the dining room is closed. Now mind you I just called like 30 seconds before I showed up. So they tell me to sit anywhere in the lounge. So after a busy day I pick nice big booth. They come over to me and say to me "oh you can't sit there." Imagine my confusion at this point. I said you told me I could sit anywhere. Then they said oh well we can't let you sit there because it's a big booth and if someone comes in, we won't have that space for them. So I look across into the middle of the lounge and there's another long table that would fit that many people that's empty. So then they guide me to a place that they will allow me to sit now and had to clean it as well. So I order my dinner very late dinner because it's 930 10 o'clock at night on a Sunday. The whole time I'm there nobody sits at the booth that I was reserved for bigger parties. Nobody else even came into that lounge for the rest of the night. I left at 10:30 which was when the kitchen closed. The moral of the story I'm not going back ever. That was like just completely ridiculous. Basically, if you wanna tell people where they can and can't sit.....then put them at a table that they're going to sit at. Don't tell them that they could sit anywhere and then tell them they can't sit somewhere. Needless to say I wasn't very comfortable and should have just walked.....good luck if you go there.....not really a hospitable dining experience for me anyway! read more

Not bad, but not good either. Relatively inexpensive bar food, enough to fill the belly but not anything to excite the tastebuds. My first stop on my Nachovember trek is the closest locale to me. I've been to Wood-n-Tap once before, and it was relatively expensive bar food. Not tasty and not worth the price. I am happy to report that they have fixed the price problem, but kept the quality issues. The location is relatively nice, although the parking lot is a bit of a nightmare. the inside is relatively low-lit but clean. We got seated quickly, and although our server was inattentive we were able to bug other servers to get things like napkins and refills on drinks. The food did eventually come out, and the nachos were the first item out. The portion was actually kind of massive! For the price, the portion was very large and there was plenty of toppings covering each one. The sweet potato fries were crisp and flavorful, and when pared with the dijon dipping sauce led to this nice sweet and tangy flavor combo which worked out well. The other items did kind of fall flat. The wings were small and overcooked, the flatbread was sparse on toppings and lacked any real flavor. Even the nachos were bland, which was weird because they took the time to actually fry up the chips but not season them. I could tell they fried them in house because they didn't drain them fully, so a bunch of chips were very greasy. I struggled on what to rate these guys, but opted for 3 because although our food was not great it was still edible. For some bars, they can get by with basic but filling food. So long as the clientele are drinking, then basic food can be enough. For people looking for a good meal though, it's not anything special. read more

Ordered 2 dinners tonight on UberEats. One was the Bar Bites (burger sliders and fries), the other was Corned Beef and Cabbage. When it arrived, there were no condiments (like ketchup, etc.) and the Corned Beef entree was bland and barely salted - it also leaked all over the bag. Epic fail. We're staying in a hotel, so we had to carry that mess back up to our room. Careful what you order from here. read more

Fiancé and I went here the other day and we cannot stop talking about how great this place is. They are going through some renovations in the bar area now, but the dinning area is recently finished and absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was packed at time of visit but we were sat quickly and someone was right over to take out order and checked in on us many times throughout our meal. The food was also a 10/10. I highly recommend the tuna wontons (light on the stomach and very flavorful). My fiancé got the Burbon Steak and I got the Salmon, both AMAZING. Also got a mixed drink and fiancé got a beer (1000% great). For dessert we got the lava brownie and it was huge for the price we paid. I am 1000% going back next time I'm in the area. We have been to just about all the other Wood-n-Tap locations and decided to try this one out today. We sat in the lounge. The service was mediocre. She was friendly but never checked back if we needed refills or asked how our food was and it wasn't busy. We had the mac & cheese, which was just OK. It lacked flavor. We also had a cheeseburger. It was also ok. Cooked to my liking but nothing special. There was no presentation to the plate that was delivered. And it was just over $16 and came with about 15 fries. Not a great first experience here. The food was not like the other locations. And the bathroom near the bar lacked cleanliness to say the least. Very disappointed. read more

We Also got the buffalo chicken tenders with fries, which were good but nothing to write home about...Fries could have been more plentiful. Drinks were good but a little on the tart side - got the berry lemon drop special and a pomegranate Cosmo - both around $10, going price for that type of drink but the tartness of the lemon in both was overkill. Love me some Wood-N-Tap. Great experience, great atmosphere, amazing grub. This is my youngest daughter's favorite place. Of all things, she loves the flat bread pizza. During the warm weather, it's a fun place to go and eat outdoors. I normally go with a burger, it's my favorite food! I'd recommend any of them. The entree salads are great when I feel like I'm a bit tubby and need some greens. Great environment and terrific for takeout. read more

Arrived, sat in the bar area, a handful of customers. After 20 minutes, no acknowledgment from the bar staff, no quick comment, hey we will be right with you two...NOTHING! Pretty unbelievable when people now go out to enjoy a dinner once in awhile, being a luxury to treat ourselves. They always have a great selection of beers, both local and national breweries. They do seasonal specials in addition to their everyday menu. All the food is very good. Stopped for lunch the other day. Chose to sit inside given the weather. Masks and social distancing were followed. Ordered the bacon burger and Caesar salad with chicken. Burger was cooked as requested and had plenty of sauce, lettuce, and tomato. Got sweet potato fries which were nice and crispy. Caesar salad was fresh and the chicken was cooked well. Following safety procedures, salt was given in plastic containers and ketchup served in small side dishes. Server was friendly and attentive. After coming to Vernon for over a decade I finally decided to try the Wood-n-Tap Bar & Grill for dinner with a little urging, although I never checked in I have had a few drinks here with friends but apparently that was before I discovered YELP. Tonight the restaurant was mostly empty, it was on a recent Tuesday around 6:00 PM that I arrived and the restaurant was not close to being filled even though the parking lot was filled to capacity. I will say I was curious about the food here but it was a business associate that suggested coming here. After being seated our server who will remain anonymous being I forgot his name took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to mull over the menu. My Sam Adams arrived ice cold - and our server continued with his exceptional service describing the dishes. We asked what the restaurant was known for besides beer and without hesitation he said "burgers". So without hesitation I ordered a New York Strip and my business associate ordered the Chilean Sea Bass after looking at the beautiful photo of the broiled fish and then the wait began and the beers were replaced with another then another. After more then forty minutes the food arrived - my steak, asparagus and risotto looked great and after one slice of the steak it was apparent the cook / chef knew what medium rare was, as for the risotto it was just okay. The fish arrived as well - fried, fried as crispy as a catfish filet from "Crapper Barrel". He questioned the server and the server immediately grabbed the plate and say he would fix it since it was suppose to be broiled. I started to eat really really slow not wanting mine to get cold and ordered another beer. The fish reappeared from the kitchen - it was dry very dry so he gave up and ask for it to removed from the table uneaten (yes they removed it from the bill after trying to get him to order something else) then we drank eight more beers and cashed out while our server apologized- hey it happens this place is known for its "burgers", the steak was good as was the service but they should not try to cook fish unless it's breaded and comes from a box for the kids... read more

We wanted a beer and a burger and this place was terrific! Enjoyed a black & tan with Guinness on tap. Lamb burgers with spicy Harissa and a fried egg.
