Son #1 had a meatloaf melt that he enjoyed. Both my husband and our second born son had the Mac and cheese. Each added some extra toppings and ate every bite. I had that nights special, shrimp risotto. I was quite tasty, with the addition of a few shakes of salt. Our server was attentive and pleasant. It was a nice night out. I'll be back.

Even as a vegetarian, I feel like I have plenty of options to choose from. Service is always friendly and helpful, even when asking for substitutions. Their rewards program is great and adds up pretty quickly. Here are some highlights about a few menu items I've tried over the years: - Eggplant parm grinder: delicious, crunchy bread and tons of melted cheese - no longer available, but I really loved their Caesar Veggie Patty sandwich they used to have on a fresh ciabatta roll. I'd get it for takeout all the time during the pandemic, and it was a great meatless option with a unique flavor blend. Please bring this back!! - Tater tot side: tastes like McDonald's hash browns in the best way possible, so light and fluffy. I could probably eat a bucket of these and they were cooked to perfection! - Side salads / any salad: always fresh, and the parmesan peppercorn dressing is my favorite version of it I can get anywhere! - Meatless wings (aka cauliflower bites): tons of sauces to choose from, and a unique offering I don't see often. The portion is huge! I love the parmesan garlic option but they're quite oily, so if you're getting takeout, beware - and have friends to split with because you'll get a ton! Tasty but I never need more than a few pieces worth - great to share. I also got a margarita flight today for their Sunday special, making it only $12 for 3 flavors that you can choose. They were sweet and not too boozy tasting, yet strong, and went down easily - I was impressed! Their beer and drink special menu is always changing and I can always find quality and unique offerings. The only thing I'd wish would be different is the ambiance. It's just always so dang dark in here, it makes me tired and feel like I'm in a much divier place than I am. They also always have this habit of seating you directly across from the one or two other occupied booths, so it feels like your neighbor can hear everything you're saying when it's not as busy. I really hate that and would appreciate more privacy! We also hate when we're seated in the first room by the entrance - it feels like such an afterthought, and sometimes staff is sitting in a booth right near you rolling silverware...just seems like you're not supposed to be there. Some of the booths by the bar are really small, and even when I'm the only one on my side, it feels like I'm about to fall out sideways, so I ask for a larger booth. The food and menu options here are truly great! My family requests to come here often. I just desperately want another light fixture or two and some more personal space while dining. Happy hour specials are also great, but they're not joking when they say you HAVE to sit at the bar for them! I have really enjoyed the TGaP over the years, and consistently rated them 5-star worthy. So when Station 1633 (catchy name, near the train station and Windsor's settlement date) opened, I knew I had to try it. So, on a recent visit w a friend, I did. Very busy for a weeknight. We were seated and given menus. Then...nothing for over 10 minutes. Our server apologized profusely, and took our drink and food orders. Our server also said that another server would assist, and we would be tag-teamed. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. My Station Burger was, w/o a doubt, the worst burger I've ever had at a tavern-type eatery (and I've had burgers all over the country). It's a patty on a flimsy bun that fell apart after a few bites (see pic). For the first time in memory, I had to use a knife and fork to eat a cheeseburger. No charbroiled taste, and who puts mustard on a burger? I guess I was expecting it on the side. My fault for not reading more closely. The fries? Seemed to be from a bag of frozen fries. All this for $18! Seriously, in my opinion, the burgers at BK are better. There are numerous places in the Hartford - Springfield area that serve hand-formed burgers on substantial buns w hand-cut fries, FOR LESS. Even the TGaP uses brioche buns. As far as being tag-teamed...didn't happen. We were obviously done, and waited about 15 minutes until we flagged down our server, who again apologized profusely for the wait time. Several other things. The menus are not similar. Some of the popular items at TGaP (pizza, eggplant fries, Reuben rolls, Philly rolls, to name a few) are not on Station 1633's menu. Why not?!? Even though the two eateries are less than 5 miles apart, they seem to draw from different areas, for the most part. Just as I'm sure I'm a "one and done" at Sta 1633, I'm also pretty sure that the owners will make a boatload of $$, especially on drinks. I'll stick to TGaP, or other pubs in the area. I very seldom rate something a "1", or "2". I'm making an exception in this case. Poor service, disappointing quality, inflated price. Thankfully, good company, and the excessive wait times allowed us to catch up. Grudgingly, 1 and 1/2 stars rounds to 2 in Yelp
