I'm back! I haven't been here in a couple years. The restaurant is located at 100 Buckland Hills Dr. in Manchester, CT. This is a big game and sports watching value. The building is huge! For my first drink, I'm having the Reserve Old Fashioned made with Woodford Reserve bourbon, simple syrup and Hella Aromatic bitters (that's new). Hella Aromatic Bitters are craft, all-natural cocktail bitters made with real herbs and spices, featuring dominant notes of clove, cinnamon, and allspice with a robust bitter finish from gentian and wormwood. This is well balanced but without a garnish. I do like the circular ice cube. That's a nice touch. For our appetizers, we are having the Guacamole and Chips which is made with fresh guacamole topped with pico de gallo and cortina cheese and served with tortillas chips. This is very good. There's a lot of chips! We are also getting the fried pickles which are crunchy breaded pickle slices served with ranch dressing. I don't eat these very often. They are good! For my entree, I'm having the Fire-Grilled Salmon which is grilled Atlantic salmon rubbed with Louisiana spices and served with green beans, rice pilaf and finished with butter. The fish is real tasty! The rice is nice and the beans and to store ate good too!Make sure to squeeze that lemon. This is good! I'm also having a side order of fresh garden salad which is romaine topped with grape tomatoes and shredded cheese with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The salad is fairly good-sized and is quite good! For my next drink, I'm having a Godfather. The Godfather is a simple, two-ingredient cocktail made with Scotch whisky (Johnny Walker Black) and amaretto liqueur, served over ice in an Old Fashioned glass, often with an orange peel garnish. It's known for its smooth, nutty, and slightly sweet flavor, balancing the smoky notes of Scotch with the almond sweetness of amaretto. Well, there is no ice cube for some reason or a garnish for that matter. But, its tastes pretty close. For my last drink, I'm having a Jameson Long Island Tea made with Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bacardi Silver rum, Cointreau, peach, premium citrus sour and Coke. I can't remember the last time I was at a Dave & Buster's! This was a fun visit and treat. I'm only competitive when it comes to games but that's what makes it fun!! We grabbed a drink and food first. I went for the danger water, which was tropical and great, and the barbacoa quesadilla which was crispy and full of meat. Our waitress was nice! Came here for a girls night with a few friends Our server was quick and service was prompt. I got the eat, play combo with 300 chips and the Lemon pepper boneless chicken wings. I also got the frozen lime rita. Very tasty. ** **edit for the 4 stars I previously went to a different Dave & Buster's about a month ago where our server was very slow and refused to give good customer service. We ended up calling corporate where they told us Sunday nights would now be the new half price game day. So we went in on a Sunday and the board only specified Sunday sip Night, not the half price gaming that somebody over the phone told us. The miscommunication and lack of knowledge of this leads me to believe there is discrepancies in training. I asked the server if this was the new game night. She said yes. I also asked a manager and they said that the game nights changed the Sunday. All of the games were still full price on Sunday night at 9:15. We talked to somebody that was in charge of the games and they said the server was possibly not switched over because this was something new. Decided to come here with a group of friends on a Sunday night for the eat, play ,and drink ! We started off with getting some adult beverages. I got the pretty pink margarita with a patron shot in it. For dinner I ordered the golden finger with fries and Cole slaw. Service was fast and our waitress was super friendly. Very disappointed in customer service. My children and I were having a good time but the ending left me angry and dissatisfied and the staff did not care. I grew up with my father in retail and all his stories of what he had to do to make things right for customers when the company was wrong. When cashing in our tickets, my daughter picked a blanket that was marked within her range, but when we checked out it cost me another 20$. Yes, I could have made her put it back but this was not her fault. We showed staff the sign under the blanket which read the amount and took a picture. The staff in the shop stated it wasn't miss marked despite seeing it for themselves. I then asked for a manager up front and all they offered was to give me more tickets or play time. Me, My daughter, and a friend of hers decided to go to Dave and Busters. I bought 3 Unlimited Food and Play Cards. (At first) Then, I reloaded one of my cards with 35$ worth of chips. The service and food was ok, just standard food you would get at a corporate-owned restaurant. The gaming space was clean, and the bathroom was pretty clean. What broke my whole trip was lack of clear advertising on the cards and the misogynistic-rooted costumer service. When I bought the cards, it was not clearly stated that you could not use the additional chips on the card until the minutes expire. I clearly expressed my concern to the manager my issue of the chips not loading onto the card correctly. He played dumb with me, saying that he couldn't load the 35$ spent onto a new card, nor a refund. I've worked in retail for many years before my current position, and that is not how it normally works in retail. When a customer has a complaint, it is better to resolve costumer complaints than risk a bad review. Seems like they do not do that here. Probably why they have under 3 stars. After this happened, I saw a man have this issue and it was resolved right away. Misogynistic and disgusting. Overall, the trip was lackluster, overpriced, and I do not recommend if you are a women (with or without kids) and end up having an issue with your play cards. read more

I tried to order a rum punch, but it never arrived. I eventually gave up and switched to a beer, which came fairly quickly. I ordered the fish and chips and asked for extra lemon, which never came. The fish didn't seem like typical cod and didn't taste very good, and the fries tasted a bit stale. The appetizers were the highlight of the night--nachos, chicken pizza, fried pickles, and mozzarella sticks were all really good. If I went again, I'd stick to appetizers and beer. Everyone was enjoying the large wall-to-wall football screen. To make things worse, they forgot our ranch and blue cheese, which was a bit frustrating. As for the drinks, we were really disappointed with the whiskey. It was very clearly watered down, and when our friend politely pointed it out to the server, her response was, "Yeah, welcome to Dave & Buster's," basically admitting it was watered down. She seemed unaware that this could actually jeopardize their liquor license, which was concerning. Overall, the experience left a lot to be desired. While the arcade games were fun, the service and food quality just didn't meet expectations. I can't believe this was my first time here after living in Ct for almost 25 years! We finally went here as a family last night and we had a great time! Good variety for the games, very easy to purchase the play cards at the self checkout kiosks. We didn't had any of the food or drinks, got pretty noisy and overwhelming after a while. I was very surprised of how many young kids were there, this place being advertised more of an adult friendly game zone. I wish they had an age restriction. My wife and I haven't been to Dave and Busters in a while and upon arriving we noticed that it was very busy but we still went to go sit down and order food. I had the All-American Smacked Down burger that I ordered medium well while my wife had the nachos from the appetizer. Everything was fine and the food came out fast, but I noticed that my burger was kind of and couldn't figure out why. Yet, I still ate it. Fast forward to the next day and I woke up with terrible stomach problems all indicative of a stomach flu or mild food poisoning of some sort. Sad to see they got rid of using your tickets to redeem for coupons for the restaurant. Dave and Busters now offers loyalty rewards which I recommend you sign up for. Spending X amount of money helps you "level up" your rewards level which gets you free credits for games or even free entrees and apps over time. Also having your Dave and Busters card and dining at the restaurant you can earn credits to play the games. You can even refill your game card on the app. This place is great for people of all ages, the bar and dining area is very sports focused and you can walk around and play in the arcade with a drink. I would not recommend sitting at the bar every time I go the counter is always sticky/wet or a mix of the both for some reason. It does get pricy with family and kids you can easily burn $100 with kids. Be mindful of what games you play certain games like the ones that the scanner is lit up purple, are more expensive typically the coin dropper games. The redemption area for credits is very good, a lot of D&B branded items are pretty cool and there's plenty of things for adults to spend some tickets on and the kids! 4/5 due to the change in coupons for tickets and price increases for playing arcade games and a messy bar. read more

Went on Halloween and surprisingly no one was there. The food was good and came out quickly. If you are really into sports there are multiple screen and they are enormous. You won't miss a moment if you go to watch a game. Customer service was good especially when I fight broke out and the manager gave us a coupon for the trouble. This is my second time here and it was just as fun as the first time. When I was younger I would come here for the prizes but now I am just enjoying the games here. This is the perfect spot especially in the winter where you just want to stay inside. Even though masks aren't required, I would recommend wearing one since germs could be flying everywhere with all the people. That was over an hour late. We were supposed to have 10 $30 loaded game cards but was missing one. The unlimited wristband for birthday child didn't work. Server seemed annoyed with us because two different sodas were flat and sprite tasted like plain seltzer (10 year olds were BOT happy). Service was super slow. Food was not good at all. Kids hated the bland overcooked Mac n cheese (what kid hates Mac n cheese?!). They were slow getting our foods out, causing the children to eat later but wanted us out immediately so they can host the next party. Super annoying that they messed up and we had to literally pay for it. My son was super upset his 10th birthday had so many flaws. Too many hiccups when I'm paying for a service to take care of a party to go smoothly. They sound good on paper but the reality doesn't live up to the promise. I will not host another party here. Came in the middle of the day for my son's birthday, almost no one in the place so that was great. Our server was quick, knowledgeable and so kind. We asked about a half off food special that was on their app and she did not know of it. She made every effort to speak to her manger and get us the discount but they were certain it was a mistake. I generally go to D&B for the games. I was on 2 minds on whether to have food. Surprisingly food and drink was good. Smashed bar sliders and fire grilled salmon were my favorites. Strawberry lemonade was good. It had pureed strawberry. Strawberry watermelon margerita tasted excellent. It had strawberry infused ice cubes. I ate all the ice cubes as well. But the drink was super weak. They should add more alcohol. Chicken wings was mediocre. Generally I go for games on Wednesdays. All games are half price on that day. So double bang for the buck. Recently in Groupon I started seeing all day gaming pass for 2. That is a good value. Only blue games are allowed though. In the span of one week, I visited Dave and Buster's twice. The first time with two 12 year olds and only did the arcade. The second time with two 10 year olds and did the arcade and dinner. So I can now comment on both the arcade and restaurant. First, on both occasions, I purchased a Groupon that gave you two unlimited passes to use the non-coupon games for $25. This is a huge waste of money. Less than 25% of the games there are non-coupon and of those, many are excluded from the offer. So, you will never get your money's worth from these cards. The boys had a lot of fun trying different games to win tickets/coupons. It is a kiddie casino so set firm limits and set your kids' expectations. $100 will get you a large poop emoji pillow for 4000 credits... and that was with a lucky 1000 ticket win on a machine. Otherwise, be prepared to get dollar-store quality merchandise. Basically, you need to go into it understanding you are paying for the experience and nothing else. And it is a very expensive experience. There are much better amusements out there that will get you better value for your dollar. The restaurant experience was very underwhelming. After waiting for over 5 minutes for the hostess to seat us (because he was on the phone - not due to a line) , we were told that there was a 45 minute wait - not because it was busy, but because two servers called out. So, we opted to sit at the bar instead. The service was very slow there also, but that was not our server's fault. I felt bad for her - she was way overloaded. Two bartenders just stood there tho no one was sitting at the bar. They could have helped out. We finally ordered drinks (they ran out of Coke Zero) and meals all at once so not to waste more time. The menu is very limited and full of high calorie foods. I settled for a Cesar salad and tater tot side. My kids got the mini hot dogs and the Philly cheesesteak and chicken tender combos. My salad was ok... a bit heavy on the dressing, but tasty. It came with what I assume was some kind of large Parmesan crisp...it was inedible. I don't know what purpose it served, but consumption was not one of them. Tater tots were perfectly fried. I would be worried if they messed those up. My son enjoyed his sliders, but didn't like the tenders at all and didn't eat past one bite of them. My other son ate most of his mini hot dogs... though he felt the dough was underdone. He ate them anyway. Takeaway - D&B is a good rainy day place to take the kids if you are ok spending money on quick entertainment...but avoid the restaurant. This is the best place to go for a family night or even date-night to just some getaway alone time of fun & dining . They have reloadable cards to play the machines with soon as you walk in you can load it up and get right to the games . There is a large dining area and bar area. The game room is pretty big ,so take your time and have fun . Tonight was all about drinks and appetizers. The girls chose a burger and a turkey club sandwich both looked and tasted good. I ordered the Cantina Steak Nachos with the works . Absolutely filling and delicious. Potsticker and wontons were both slightly spicy ,but had loads of flavor on them. I just came here last night with my family. The food was very dry! I ordered the chimichurri bowl as I did in the new haven location. The bowl looked disgusting. The asparagus looks like it was sitting out under a hot lamp all day. It was in strings not edible. The chicken tasted dry and old. I did not enjoy my meal. I don't get the hate for Dave and Busters, like at all. I've been going to various locations over the last decade and thanks to an unexpected trip to Connecticut last weekend I found myself back at the Manchester. We came here around 5PM and had an expected wait of about 45 minutes which is to be expected at a place like this, so we spent that time getting our game on! I spent a majority of my time playing the giant Star Wars flight battle simulator game and Rampage, so I was all set on the fun factor. Once we were seated we had a wonderful server who was really friendly and helpful throughout are dining experience. We had a pretty large group so we indulged in some appetizers which mostly consisted of buffalo chicken chunks which get a big thumbs up in my book. For dinner I settled on the chicken fried chicken meal which has some A+ delicious fried chicken on top of the mashed potatoes with fried onions on the top and tasty toast on the side. Have I gotten this before? Yes, many times and from many different locations but that doesn't change the fact that it was scrumptious and delicious this time around! I almost forgot to mention the glowing blueberry drink I ordered which was basically like a blue jolly rancher, so again, big thumbs up! "Oh the games people play now Every night and every day now" (Games People Play - Joe South) Fifteen of us went after work on Thursday to check out the brand new spiffy Dave and Busters. Money hemmorhaged out of my wallet all night long. So what was my conclusion? We had a GREAT time, but it was expensive with constant "upselling" at every opportunity. Our visit got off to an unfavorable start. We arrived around 6:00 and headed right to the bar, a big two sided bar. There was one bartender who was working as fast as any bartender I have ever seen, but he was there by himself. He was there by himself for a really long time.He was filling orders for the dining room, and really had no time to even look up at the thirsty bar patrons holding up tens and twenties to get a few cold glasses. It was a solid 15 or 20 minute wait to get a beer. They had a pretty nice selection of maybe ten drafts (Harpoon, Corona, Yuengling) and this was my first encounter with their pricing structure and strategy. I ordered a Corona Light and was asked if I wanted to super-size it from a glass to a pint. Of course I agreed, and it ended up costing close to $6 for a very common draft beer. We ordered some appetizers and the server suggested a sampler plate that had a little of everything. I didn't remember it being on the menu, and I just checked the on-line menu and didn't see it either. We agreed and a few minutes later we had a platter of wings, pretzel dogs (REALLY GOOD) , quesadillas, and potato chips. I don't know what it cost, I didn't ask, the price wasn't offered and someone on our team travelling on an expense account graciously offered to pick up the tab. Now we were ready to play some games. The games at Dave and Busters don't run on coins and they don't run on tokens so you would know what you are spending each time you tossed a Skee Ball up the ramp. D&B runs on a pre-loaded "Power Card" that you swipe at each game as if it was an ATM card. I asked for a card with $20 credit, and was offered a super-sized deal again, pay a little more for some more games. Sure I said.... The game selection is magnificent. The game room is immense with all sorts of flashing lights and bright colors. basketball games, football games, a crazy fun 4-way air hockey game, a trivia game, a giant crane game, the choices go on and on. It really is impressive. But as you run around the room swiping, you really have no idea what the games cost and what you are spending. After I ran out of credit, I went to re-load at the sales counter, and guess what? I was super-sized again with "a really good offer" to increase my playing power for a few dollars more. I played air hockey, basketball, football, skee ball, a few wheel spinning games, a few electronic games, and the trivia game. Tickets poured out of the machines after we played. I pooled the tickets with 2 guys and we ended up with like 1,000 tickets. Now we went to the prize room to claim our jackpot. To say we were disappointed at our options is an understatement. Check out my photo- we got 9 little goofy toys we'll use in class as table toys and a few rubber erasers that look like a $100 bill. This review is for the Games Portion of Dave & Busters... This place is HUGE and was a welcome respite from the ice and cold that all CT residents have been forced to deal with this year. When I first walked in it was almost like sensory overload (sort of like Chucky Cheese on acid) and I did not know which way to turn. The combination of people running around and shouting along with all the bells, whistles and sounds coming from the 50 or so games throughout took me a bit to get used to. Instead of tokens and/or coins - each game is "activated" with the swipe of a card that you get pre-loaded when you walk in or at machines that are more than willing to take your real money and even ask you to "upgrade" your credits for few dollars more. So with our upgraded card loaded up, Mark C and I headed into the depths of Dave and Busters and proceeded to spend the next several hours competing against both ourselves and each other. We had a blast playing not only traditional video games but a lot of time was spent in the back trying our luck at several carnival games, including my personal favorite Skee-ball, for the chance to earn tickets. Pretty soon it was all about the tickets - how much we could earn to win one of the prizes at their Prize Center. Prizes at the prize center have not changed that much from when I was small - think over priced candy and stuffed animals besides x boxes and electronics. The cost to play is where Dave and Buster's business model is a genius. Unless you are really conscious - and look down before you swipe your card - you might not know that to play a game it takes from 3-10 credits to play. Just be aware that all games are not created equal :) Great way to spend a cold winter afternoon. I can see how this would be a great place for families, as there is something for everyone. read more
