    burger salad
    Morgan B.

Had a burger salad for lunch today at Plan B and it was very tasty! We got pickles as a starter (think like bread at an Italian restaurant) and it was such a cute idea, and delicious! Our food was cooked as expected, and our server was super friendly and professional, but funny. Would recommend if you're looking for a chill environment and a great burger.

I tried this Plan B on a Friday night expecting a busy night with some wait time. I was surprised to be seated pretty much immediately. Nice window seat in bar area. Our service was very prompt once seated. We ordered a couple of cocktails Grape kool aid and a toasted almond. kool aid drink was very good. The restaurant had good selection of Bourbons as the restaurant name implies PLAN B burgers and bourbons. The ambiance was mellow this Friday night. I did note that they normally have a DJ on Friday nights after 10 PM. We had no intention of hanging that late so I can't comment on entertainment. We opted to just order main courses this evening. The menu is focused on burgers so my gf ordered sliders while wanted something different so I opted for a fiesta bowl. Bowl consisted of basmati rice with tomatoes, jalapeños, avocados tortilla, aioli and chicken for protein. I would've liked some beans but not included. Burgers temps have 2 levels "pink" and "no pink. " sides for burgers are never ending variety of fried potatoes she opted for tater tots. Burger was good although slightly undercooked. Fiesta bowl was good w arriving jalapeños with seeds so it had some kick which was fine by me. Parking at this location can be very challenging because so many businesses in complex. So just be prepared to hunt for a spot. There is a parking garage tucked away in rear of parking lot you can sometimes find spots behind the plaza. I would like to rate 3.5 but didn't want to low ball them.

I kept on hearing about Plan B since they have multiple locations; the following towns/cities has one, Simsbury, Hartford, Milford, Southington, Springfield, and West Hartford. We decided to get lunch here and were very pleased. The service was spot on and the food was great. The interior was clean and spacious. I wasn't craving burgers so I ordered the Shepards pie; it had corn, ground beef, mashed potatoes, tomatoes, rosemary, gravy, and frizzled onions. The meal was huge and flavorful! I really loved the frizzled onions, it complemented the dish very well. Also, I had their b-berry cocktail, the menu says it tastes like juice but feels like vodka; it's house-made blueberry infused vodka and it was amazing! I did not taste the alcohol at all, which could be dangerous after a few of them. What I love about the place was, it's kid-friendly. There were a ton of options to choose from. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, a great experience with food and drinks and can't wait to go back to try their burgers, which is what they're known for.

Solid burger joint with a more upscale sportsbar feel. I built my own burger - very good, but could have been juicer. Fries also good. What I like about this place is that they have a nice selection of local craft beer on tap. Service from the bartender was excellent!

Sadly, must downgrade the usually cool Plan B experience to 3 stars. They keep monkeying with the great happy hour and it just keeps getting worse! I came last month for my birthday and it was still pretty decent. I documented this in the photos. Espresso martini, 3 fish tacos for $4, yummy desserts... Now tonight a month later, it totally stunk from chintzy & cheap menu changes. First--no more cute little gratis pickled cukes to start. Why?! Then, instead of the three awesome little tacos, they served ONE each--I kid you not! Same price as the last month for THREE?! Also, raised prices for other items and loss of some of the better things like my favorite mini chili and salads, and NO more happy hour espresso martini. Ugh, I feel so disappointed---totally cheated! It's really no bargain now, just get regular sized items from the main menu for a better value. Three stars still for the great staff & fun place, bedsides all this bad business. But the happy hour is just so unhappy. Boooo!

Not so happy hour It's the little things that make a dining experience memorable. Last month we came for happy hour and had 3 delicious fish tacos for $5, 3 wonderful chicken tacos for $4 and a few other delicious appetizers and drinks. Loved it. Return trip...as pictured the shrimp taco is now a single taco for $4. Chicken taco also reduced to one lonely bite at $3 instead of 3 for $4. Mini burgers are back but at a cost....previously 6 for $13 are now 6 for $20. And the wonderful expresso martini is gone. Sorry Plan B, but Happy Hour was much happier before. Now it is higher priced than similar tacos on dinner menus around town, burgers at dinner prices when thinking pound for pound, and just nothing that stands out and calls to us as our Happy Hour destination. Thinking the only one truly happy is the owner when he cashes out the register at the conclusion of Happy Hour. Per my prior review, still a solid choice for dinner. Great service and very good food with a nice vibe. Next time they offer the happy hour menu though, I will say pass.

Food was very underwhelming. Lacked flavor. Presentation could be better. Fish & chips were overcooked. Coleslaw had spring onions in it which overpowered the entire side dish. Hand cut fries were not good. Meatloaf had potential. A lot of Worcestershire sauce for my liking and a bit dry. Mashed potatoes were very gummy. Chicken tenders were overcooked. Tater tots were good. Fried pickles were okay. Nachos have potential as well. House cooked potato chips with chili, tomatoes, onions and queso sauce on top. Needed salt. Half sour pickle chips are their complimentary starter but very salty and I love pickles but I did not like those. Pretzel bacon cheeseburger was overcooked and bland. You only have two options on how you'd like your burgers cooked: some pink or no pink. We asked for some pink but ours was dryer than the Sahara desert and this is a burger joint. The warm cookie Sunday was okay. There was more ice cream and whipped cream than cookie, served with 4 dirty spoons. We haven't been here for over 10 years because we didn't like it then and we don't like it now. The only thing that's changed is they have more than just burgers for options. Service was very bad. Our server was very forgetful and not attentive. Had to ask him multiple times for utensils (hello!), dessert menu and drinks. He also handed us a handwritten sheet of paper with beers because he didn't know what was available on tap. Ambiance is very LOUD! Don't go there to converse because you won't hear the person next to you. The server couldn't even hear us. I'm surprised our orders were somewhat correct. People surprisingly like this place and I'm not sure why. The food and service is awful. Parking is a headache. I'd rather go to McDonald's. If you're into under-seasoned food, a loud environment and poor service then this is your place. I do not recommend this restaurant for any fellow foodies. I don't see the hype at all.

Had a craving for a good burger yesterday and not that fast food junk you can just grab and go. I decided to venture to Plan B and after looking at wait time for the West Hartford, Hartford and Simsbury, it seemed like my hopes would be dashed. Fortunately Glastonbury had little to no wait. We were seated quickly and ordered food for the kids while we decided what we wanted. I order the double day burger with Parmesan fries and my wife had the fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. Our server Alix was amazing and she recommended that I try the John Daly as my drink. It was a great choice. It reminded me of a Long Island ice tea but a bit stronger. My burger was delicious. The double day is a smash patty and you immediately get the crust in each bite. The spicy maple sauce is a nice compliment to add some moisture you're missing from the patties being so thin. My wife reported her fish sandwich being really good with the fish being nice and flaky with the crunch from the batter. I was so full I decided to skip desert so I'll have to try dessert next time. If you want a real burger in a nice quiet spot with nice decor you can't go wrong here. PS what I don't get to try that i definitely will my next visit is the huge variety of bourbon on the menu.

Went for happy hour on a Friday night - disappointed that sliders were not on the happy hour menu either due to varying happy hour deals at different locations or recent changes - who knows ? Love the hummus appetizer and then had the chicken thing without the toppings and hubby had a burger - probably wouldn't go for happy hour again since their happy hour isn't that great compared to their regular menu so no need to rush in that time spot and I like their salads anyway Stephanie was a great bartender!

Kens is a small breakfast place in glastonbury, and there always seems to be a line out the door (for a good reason). Once inside tho, the waitresses and busboys are always super friendly. I love that the waitresses always stop by for a quick chat when they see you. The eggs benedict is super amazing here. Actually everything is but thats my fav. French toast super amazing too, especially when they have the egg nog French toast on special. They always have two flavored coffee options which i love. And the home fries are always well seasoned and crispy on the outside and oft in the middle. The only downside really to kens is the wait which sometimes goes out the door. They don't take reservations and they don't have a sign in, so it kinda sucks for someone like me with Rheumatoid arthritis because I cant stand for very long, so we cant go on the weekends. But we went twice during the week this week and the wait was very short. I love the atmosphere and the menu was designed by Sue herself, so we were able to get the best recommendations. Lots of omelets, French toasts, wraps, etc. All the food was amazing, but a common complaint I heard from the group was that the sandwiches were a bit dry or needed a sauce to push it to great. Definitely check this out. Be prepared for a wait and a deliciously good time.

I'd be more understanding if the place was slammed, but there were plenty of open tables and a solid number of waitstaff walking around. Things started off with an excruciatingly long wait just to get our drink order taken--a beer and a cider, nothing fancy--and even longer for them to actually arrive. No exaggeration, it was over 30 minutes before we had drinks in front of us. The food itself was pretty good. I had the barbacoa tacos, she had a burger. The quality and flavor were about what you'd expect from a place with a huge menu--solid, satisfying, no real complaints there. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and pleasant, which made the painfully slow service even more confusing. It got to the point where I basically launched my credit card at them just to avoid another 20-minute wait to sign the check. I like this place and the food is decent, but I wouldn't come back if I had anywhere else to be--or couldn't devote an entire afternoon to lunch. If they checked in more often or offered another drink, it would've gone a long way. And pro tip: definitely don't come here for a first date. If you run out of small talk, you're going to be sweating it out.

Choices were limited to 'small and large plates', there was no appetizer section. We were asked "sparkling bottled ($$) or tap water?". We chose tap. Server brought an old-style quart-size milk bottle and small juice-size glasses. The water had no ice, so I assumed water was cold, it wasn't. I ordered a 'breakfast' stout, my wife coffee. Stout was served in a wine glass, not a traditional pint glass. Wife said coffee wasn't that hot. When they brought our beverages, wife asked for a napkin since none were on the table. Like most civilized countries, I like to put a napkin in my lap when I sit down in a restaurant. Apparently you need to ask for one here. Young server muttered something about place settings are brought when food is delivered. I guess an ale and coffee aren't napkin worthy. Not sure what they accomplish with this goofy policy. It looks more like some kind of cost cutting measure. We made reservations a week earlier, wanted us to confirm a second time through text the same morning. It led me to think this must be a popular place with people clamouring to get in. Once there, place wasn't bust at all, no waiting customers and a sea of unoccupied tables. Our guest arrived after we ordered our beverages. After a few minutes, I ended up flagging down a server to get her a drink. Another sign we were stuck with a 2nd or 3rd-string staff. Our aunt ordered a specialty drink from their menu; "champagne in a laundry basket", (looked more like laundry water in a wash tub). After taking our orders, paper menus were collected to be reused. Maybe they were saving money on copy paper. I kinda' wish she left one in case we wanted desserts or something later. They were keeping the table clear of literally everything. I ordered a humus plate for use as an appetizer, something to share and couldn't be screwed up while waiting for our main course. When entrees showed up, we all chose 'smoked sausage eggs-benedict', extra servers were in tow with plates, napkins and silverware, napkin place settings given after all plates were on the table. My wife was seated across from me, sitting next to her Aunt Nan. The first plate was placed in front of me. Even being the neanderthal caveman I am, I knew this was the most basic etiquette faux pas (I felt humiliated j/k). Ladies are ALWAYS served first, another red flag from an inexperienced staff. The 'smoked sausage' Eggs Benedict failed on many levels. It wasn't hot, poached eggs were both over and under-cooked- egg whites had chunky white snot, yolks were not runny. The 'smoked sausage', was kielbasa logs cut in half lengthwise, they were overcooked and impossible to cut without flattening and mutilating egg and muffin. They could be used as wheel chocks, I had to deconstruct it so sausage could be wrestled with on the side. Wife said the 'homemade' English muffin had the tap water taste like what we were served 'for free'. I couldn't help but envision a garden hose filling a mop bucket used for filling the milk bottles. The Hollandaise sauce lacked silky richness and flavor, I've had better with McCormick packets. Benedict was overpowered with the taste of the smoked sausage. This meal was our aunt's special treat for our birthdays. They did not finish their meals, leaving mostly the pieces of the hockey puck-hard sausage. Server had been touting the pastry chef for the home-made English muffins. They were not any better than Thomas's English muffins. I am a plate-cleaner by habit, I've even been called human garbage disposal, so I managed to clear this one, (except for the egg snot, it would've taken a straw to finish it). My wife always has leftovers I happily dispose of quietly, not this time, gave it a hard pass. I felt unfulfilled, I was food frustrated, so I ordered some bacon cheese scones and shared them with the table. They turned out to be the best thing we had, warm Bisquick quality with a good taste of bacon and cheese almost as addicting as Red Lobster cheddar biscuits. We consumed them like a pack of hungry wolves. I asked and was told they don't serve them with butter. These begged for butter. IMO, butter should already be on the table. My wife picked this venue for our birthday treat meal with our beloved Aunt Nan from MA treating us. I apologized to her for our disappointing choice. She said she was glad I said it, she didn't want to say anything to make us feel bad. With tip, the bill for 3 was $171.00. We could have had a better meal and service at an IHOP for a quarter of the cost, I know I would have felt more satisfied. This experience made onto my list of top 5 worst eating experiences.

I just want to start out by saying that the food is good. The waffles are delicious and there…read morearen't too many places around that make them in that style. However, this place is sneaky about prices. Firstly, They do not list prices on the menu, and after seeing my receipt, I understand why. If you want to add mixed berries to your waffle, they charge you $1.75 per type of berry. I ordered a black tea with a splash of milk, and they charged me the price of a tea latte. They also refuse to give tap water, and make you pay for bottled water- a practice that rubs me the wrong way. It cost nearly $50 for two people to eat breakfast here. Overall, the place isn't terrible, but is not transparent with prices.

We finally got to check out Zinneken's and it did not disappoint! The café is super clean, cute,…read moreand cozy with such a great vibe. The staff are sweet, friendly, and so helpful, especially for first-timers. The waffles are incredible. There are so many options to choose from, so good luck deciding! I had the Berries Insanity fruit-topped waffle and the fruit was honestly the freshest I've ever had. My husband opted for the Gourmand waffle (a Bananas Foster vibe). He opted for a Liège waffle (chewy) and I went with the Brussels waffle (crispier) and both were amazing. Drinks are just as good, from coffee and espresso to tea, matcha, or juice. We also shared a Zinneken's breakfast meal and it was perfectly made. Everything was incrediblly delicious and made for such a great brunch. We can't wait to go back!

This may be, perhaps, the best Happy Hour I have ever seen anywhere. It's EVERY DAY from 3:30-6. The food item options are huge (20-25) plus three dessert choices. There's are also seven quality mixed drinks, three beers and seven wines! OMG! The bartender recognized me! I haven't been here since January 2025 (1 1/3 years ago). She is even knew where I sat! The menu is unchanged except for a few minor things. For my first drink, I'm having the Max Manhattan made with Old Overholt Rye, Cinzano Sweet Vermouth, orange bitters and orange twist. This has a nice garnish and tastes great! For my first food item, I'm getting a Caesar Salad made with romaine lettuce, garlic croutons and Parmesan cheese. The smell of cheese is quite strong! It's a good portion. This tastes good! Crunchy croutons and tasty lettuce. For my next food item, I'm having a Salmon lettuce cup. Nice presentation! It's on a bed of ice and a lemon to sprinkle. This is quite good! Next up, I'm having a Cup of Clam Chowder. I believe these are house-made croutons. This came out quick! It's nice and hot! Tastes great! Well, with a little hot sauce that is...I like the classic music here. For my next drink, I'm having an Old Fashioned made with Old Forester Bourbon, simple syrup and Angostura bitters. Damn! Nice presentation (the Amarena cherry on the wooden stick) and a great tasting drink! The bartenders are good here! Very attentive! For my next food item, I'm having the Steamed Mussels made with soppressata, capers, shellfish stock, spring herb butter and Pernod butter. I love the focaccia! It is heavily buttered. The mussels are real good! For my next food item, I'm having the Scallops A La Plancha made with mustard spatzle, pea puree, asparagus and mushroom cream. This is good. It's heavy due to the pasta. It's like an entree. To wash this all down, I'm getting a bottle of Pellegrino sparking water. I like this stuff! For my next food item, I'm having four (Buck a Shuck) Cherrystone clams and four Oysters of the Day (only $1.95 each). These are good! I love the cocktail and vinaigrette sauces (with the crushed pink peppercorns). Sprinkle that lemon! For my next drink, I'm having a Happy Hemmy made with rum, grapefruit juice, lime and vanilla extract. What a great drink! Very unique taste! This has kick! For my food item, I'm having the "Baltimore Style" Shrimp Cocktail made with Old Bay Seasoning and stone ground mustard. OMG! The shrimp are big These are great! I love that mustard! For my next good item, I'm having the Blackened Fish Taco made with pineapple salsa and aji verde. I love it! This is easy to eat. For my last appetizer, I'm having the Happy Burger made with lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. I miss this badly! This is delicious! It's a well-seasoned burger let me tell you! For dessert, I'm having the Creme Brulee. This is the cutest Creme brulee ever! On a Happy Hour menu?! This is a first anywhere! My favorite dessert! This is great! For my final drink, I'm having the Gin Gimlet made with Greylock Gin, simple syrup and lime juice. This is good! It's light so it's easy to drink at the end of my meal. That's 11 food items I ate and 4 mixed drinks. What a fantastic meal here!

The clam chowder was just as good, thick and loaded with flavor and ingredients in every bite. The grilled octopus with potatoes was a standout -- perfectly tender (not rubbery at all) and packed with flavor. Oysters were fresh, crisp, and just straight up delicious. For the main, the paella was -- rich, loaded with seafood (shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, clams), and cooked perfectly. Paired it with a light beer which helped cut through the richness and kept everything balanced. Service was on point and the ambiance made it a great overall experience. Definitely a spot I'd go back to.
