I requested a quote for an wood chair with broken leg. The owner requested pictures and got back to me with a very reasonable quote in less than 5 min. There was no estimation fee or work order paper works for this simple task, unlike other shops I inquired. I ended up not using this shop because the Airbnb owner had their own carpenter; I ended up paying slightly higher price as such. I was fortunate to come across Steve's glowing Yelp page, and decided to give him a call about some repairs on an antique solid oak king bed frame I had purchased. I needed a piece of wood trim that was missing to be replaced, as well as touch up in a few spots. After chatting for a few minutes, Steve requested I send photos, and he would get back to me. I received a call later that day, and was quoted an extremely fair price. Once I was able to get the extremely large and heavy bed frame moved to Steve's shop, he surprisingly gave me a call a week later informing me the bed frame was complete and at the quoted price! I also left him with an antique wooden magazine rack I had picked up and tried to refurbish. I asked if he could fix my botched project, and he said he would try if he had the time. Nonetheless, that Ethan Allen 70's rack looked fantastic! This type of restoration is becoming a lost art, and Steve has decades of experience under his belt. Steve repaired a chair that had been broken by movers. One of the back posts had been broken off and the whole back felt like it would come off if you lifted the chair up by it. He repaired the broken post so you can't tell it was ever broken and secured the whole back into place so I can lift the chair by the back if I need to. It looks and works as good as new!
