They…read moredidn't remove old caulking before applying the new one, and the glaze itself had 3 issues with it: some weird black spots, a section where the glaze dripped down and had hardened, and an exposed part of the tub that wasn't patched correctly. Also, the technician didn't speak English that well, so it was very difficult to communicate with him. The owner reached out to me and wanted to make it right. I wasn't expecting this since usually companies will just take your money and disappear but apparently if you just tell this company about it, they'll try to make it right. I took a few weeks to do a back and forth with them about the work that would be done, and they were very polite and professional throughout the whole thing. The front office was awesome with scheduling and answering questions. The same technician was assigned to the fixes, but I requested a different technician be assigned and they obliged. The new tech did a good job, and I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. There was some overspray again, but not a huge deal as the black spots and the exposed part of the tub were properly addressed. I found out that one of the issues I originally had (the black spots) were caused by my shower leaking and water dropped onto the glaze as it was drying. Seems like the first tech didn't put a cover over my shower head, but this new tech did. He also spoke English better than the other tech, so no translation app was needed. During this second fix-up visit, the owner himself came on-site to make sure everything was done correctly. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work that was done. It seems even if they do mess up, they'll eventually fix it. If the second tech was the one who did the work first, this would be a 5* review.

His people missed the appointments three times----we need to work and we can not sit in the house 24/7 to wait for the reglaze people to come. If there is an appointment, please come on time. Although there is a two-year warranty, the reglazing work is very smelly, we cannot live in the house for at least two days before the smell goes away.

Our wood floors were last refinished 18 years ago, when we first moved into our 1958 house. While…read moremany areas had only minor wear, the area under the dining table had suffered a lot of damage, with bare wood exposed in several places. We were looking for someone to do a general buff and finish on all the hardwood, but also with a specific focus on fixing the dining area. Of the five businesses I contacted, four said they would not do a partial sand/stain, but would only redo all of the flooring, sanding and restaining everything, which would have been far more than we were planning on spending for this project. Wilmer of Better Surfaces and Services was the only one willing to work with us on what we wanted. He was very upfront about the potential issue with a visual difference between the restained dining area and the existing stained flooring, but also discussed how he would do his best to mix the new stain so that it matched as close as possible, and work on the transition area to minimize any difference. I hope the pictures show what an amazing job Wilmer and his team did. The pictures were taken at different times of day, but they are all of the dining area, which needed the most work. In fact, one of my relatives was thoroughly confused upon seeing the final result: she knew we had planned on just refinishing, but upon seeing the floor, thought they must have instead replaced the dining area with all new hardwood! In addition to the great work, Wilmer was very good about addressing all of our concerns and keeping us up to date on the work, as we had to be out of town during all of it. His employees were very conscientious about locking up our house when they were done each day (my friend let them in every morning).
