Hello, I would like to start this review by saying that the course itself is excellent to be honest. Unfortunately, the course is not the main issue I am about to adress. My expierience at woodwind was unlike anything else. I peer over while with my wife and see a bunch of 17 year old ish teens drinking beer and smoking cigars. I am left with minimal choices as I was never one to stand by and watch this chaos continue. One of the boys was blonde and taller and the other a little shorter with brunette hair. This is an outrage and i demand the woodwind team hands this accordingly before more action takes place. Thank you. read more

Please note: This is for a social review, not a golf course review. Woodwind is up the street from where I work. Because I do not yet have a clubhouse for my homeowners to access (1 year to go!), I look for events in the area for us to attend together. Woodwind has been a fabulous partner! They have a robust social calendar and actively post events both on Instagram and their website. All events are open to the public. Last week we attended the first concert of the season. Their venue set up is fabulous! There is a big open green space with 4 or 5 different sections of seating and fire pits. The twinkle lights just make for a perfect summer night. Pierogi Love food truck (yum) was on site last week but they'll have different vendors throughout the summer with various food options. We'll be back! read more

They offered affordable options and made sure everything went smoothly day of. We even had a personal beverage cart which was a huge hit! This course has a ton of potential. It has a very strange layout that involves crossing the road twice during a round to play all the holes. They should change the order of the holes in my opinion. Like most Indiana courses, it is way overpriced. The greens, tee boxes and paths are in terrible condition. You almost need a UTV to make it down some of the paths. It's full of people that are destined to make everyone have a 6 hour round with their slow play. The staff is friendly but I likely won't be back. read more

Course was in as good of shape in 2023 as it ever has been. Great location in Westfield. Looking forward to playing here many more times in the 2024 season! Absolutely without a doubt the worse course I've played in my entire life. Attempts to make up for poor course condition with over the top difficult green layout. Green speed is inconsistent and half of the holes are under some sort of construction. $40 for 18 holes of twilight play on a public course? Lofty aspirations as a course with nothing to back it up. The course is under construction. They won't even let you play certain holes because they're not done. Bunkers are compacted and rocky. About half the tee boxes are really uneven. The layout was confusing for first time guests and there were no signs saying you have to go back across the street for 8 and 9. They need more signs guiding people to the next tee box. Greens and fairways were nice for the most part. The electric carts were nice but the built in GPS was off by 10-15 yards every hole. Some holes the GPS was off by 30-40 yards. The course has potential but I won't be back for at least 5 years so they can finish up work on it. Everyone I interacted with at the clubhouse was nice. I feel bad having to leave a negative review but i wouldn't recommend Woodwind in its current state. read more

Decent golf course for most levels of golfers. I'm not a great golfer, I shoot in the mid 80s, low 90s depending on the course/day. I wouldn't recommend this course if you're a 'bad' golfer as it'll be a long day. The course is relatively open, but there are sand traps, rough, water and some misc trouble areas scattered around. We just played there last weekend and was able to pick up a good deal on golfnow.com The course was in pretty good condition, albeit a little wet in some places. A couple of the sand traps were half sand, half miniature pond. Some of the greens have seen better days, but its the end of the season and its been a bit dry. Clubhouse is stocked well and the beer gal made her way around a few times throughout the round. Overall good experience, but I wouldn't walk into the pro shop and pay $70 or whatever for the round. read more

The course is in horrible condition - bunkers are full of rocks, weeds around and on the greens. Poorly maintained and manicured. I cant believe the course charges $65.00 for a course in this shape. Waaaaay over priced for an average course that's under heavy construction. I paid full price for 17 holes and there were construction fence obstacles on other holes. I would not go back unless the price was dropped to at least half. read more

$40 on a Friday before 5pm. This course is worse than Sahms..greens are poorly taken care of and the course is backed up with high schoolers. Little to know direction in which the course runs. No visible yardage markers. Overall layout is horrid. I would recommend if you are going to spend $40 for 18 holes then go to a more well kept course. This was a very disappointing experience. I've not been to a golf club as poorly managed as this one in some time. The sand traps weren't kept, several signs were missing at the holes and you couldn't tell which one you were at, no signs directing you were to go, empty vending machines on the course, etc. For 50 dollars a person I expect great golf and this was not even acceptable. I was charged 9 dollars at the club house for a Gatorade and a turkey lunch meat sandwich. Just an awful experience. The course itself is beautiful, but whoever runs this obviously just doesn't care about its quality. Steer clear. read more

Not impressed. Priced like a premium course without any of the amenities. Dumpy clubhouse, no gps on the carts, practically no yardage markers in the fairways. Some holes have 200 and 100 markers but on only half the holes at best. Hardly any 150 yard markers. Most of the sprinkler head covers were broken or missing. Ball washers every 4 holes. No water to drink on the course unless you buy a bottle for $1. Pop machine on hole 6 was broken. They do offer a discounted rate if you book thru their website. However, the mobile version wouldn't give the discount. The desktop version doesn't work right on a mobile device. iPhone in my case. And they won't give you the Internet rate unless you book online. Catch 22 esk. Took me 20 minutes on my phone to get a tee time booked while standing in the pro shop. Their site kept crashing or stalling. So book on a computer before you go. read more

I won't let the way I played affect my review. This is a good overall course. The greens were incredibly fast last weekend, which I was not expecting. I was able to adapt but unfortunately I am terrible at putting. The clubhouse was nice, they had sandwiches at the snack bar and chili dogs and such. Not a bad course to go out and have a casual round with friends at. It's a bit of a drive for me so I will most likely find a closer course instead of travel back up to this one. read more

Just an ok course. Not at all worth their $59 dollar regular weekend fee...or their $49 dollar regular weekday fee. Even their $39 dollar later in the day fee is pushing the price too high. All of the tee boxes are poorly leveled. The course has a water drainage problem. The yardage markers are absurd. Ive never played a course in my life that doesn't have many of the sprinkler heads labeled. On top of that...there are creeks and water areas where they don't even depict it on the course map...and they give you no idea what the yardages are to reach the water. This is ridiculous. It's hard to find the 200, 150 and 100 yard marks on several holes. All around just a sub par experience, especially considering the price. It is a peaceful course though, I'll give it that. Amazingly...they had the gall to place an employee on a par 3 green to see if you wanted to pay 10 extra bucks to win a t shirt if you could hit the green. Inexperienced players in my group didn't like someone standing right in the tee watching them. Pretty unbelievable if you ask me. read more

Strong 3 stars here. The back 9 especially has a layout that's just plain good. Conditions don't tend to be good, and the front 9 layout has some dull moments, but there are some great things about this place as well. read more

I played Woodwind yesterday with some work people and I assume it's closing its doors permanently at years end. It was in such bad shape that I seriously contemplated asking for my money back. Charging $49 for that goat ranch is flat out robbery. No lie, sprinklers running on both fairway and tee box for the first 5 holes, every tee box was full of weeds. Greens fried out and they were allowing some sort of soccer game to be played in between groups. I will never go back there again read more

I would probably give it 2.5 stars if allowed. Postives: -Well conditioned course -Some cool holes, particularly the par 3's over water -Added value of forecaddies on certain holes Negatives: -Expensive. Was $59 w cart on weekend, which for this area is pretty high. -Not a great variety of holes. Similar yardages on the par 3's and the par 5's have nothing distinctive about them outside of the 6th hole. -Greens did not do well from the winter. It appears they have thatch on the all the greens. They still rolled okay, but for the early season they weren't running great. Overall there are too many good options in the area to go back here for the price. read more

One round is all it took to remind me I would prefer to play anywhere else but this course. Lost $10 in cooler deposits because the clubhouse was closed when we finished our round. (closes at 8pm) Not to mention, a $5 deposit per cooler for coolers that tiny, leaky pieces of crap is absurd. They were supposed to mail me my $$ back but it has been over 2 weeks and nothing. This is on top of a course that was poorly designed when it was built, is never in good shape (tee boxes look like they have not been mowed in days, some greens have large bare spots, and crab grass everywhere, and bunkers, yeah let's not talk about that), and is obviously understaffed. The city of Westfield should have allowed this place to be turned into a subdivision, no one will really miss it. Do yourself a favor and just drive 10 mins east and play Pebblebrook, it is cheaper, nicer, and well staffed. And they have the nicest golf carts around. read more

This course makes you feel right at home and sometimes I think it is. Wood Wind provides great opportunities to join a league fit for anyone. The men's club has 255 participants and the senior league has over 80 players. Looking forward to the 2014 golf season. read more
