I 100 percent believe every story about the hateful and rude and incompetent nurses because I lived it. Years after being in this place I have nightmares about it because the staff were so hateful and unprofessional and endangered without a shred of care or empathy. Does the staff here look at some people and decide I'll give quality care to this person because I'm being watched but this other person looks like they might not have any family nearby so we can go ahead and be awful and negligent to vulnerable people without getting caught. I find the positive reviews to be insulting after this place has traumatized and done lasting harm to so many

My experience with Novant Health in Wilmington left me feeling dismissed, unheard, and deeply…read moreconcerned about the quality of patient-centered care I received. I came in with worsening symptoms that I knew were not normal. Despite clearly communicating how my condition was progressing, I felt as though I was being medically gaslit. Because my lab values, MRIs, and echocardiograms appeared "normal," my very real and escalating symptoms were repeatedly minimized and ultimately labeled as psychosomatic. What made this even more troubling was the apparent bias I experienced due to my mental health history. I was open about having bipolar disorder, yet instead of being treated with thoughtful, comprehensive care, it felt like my concerns were filtered through that diagnosis--used as a reason to discredit rather than to better support me. When I expressed serious concerns about continuing my pregnancy--considering both my physical health and mental well-being, as well as the safety of my child--I was not met with compassion or proactive care. Instead, I was essentially told that I would need to "stick it out" for several more weeks, or wait until my condition, specifically preeclampsia, became severe enough to warrant intervention. Being told, in so many words, that I would only be taken seriously once my health took a dangerous turn is unacceptable. No patient should feel like they have to get sicker to be believed. Healthcare is supposed to be built on trust, listening, and early intervention--not dismissal and delay. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to examine how patients--especially those with mental health histories--are treated when they advocate for themselves. I deserved to be heard. I deserved better care.

"You can be assured we will treat your little ones like our own."…read more You all need to remove the above statement from your website as it is FALSE advertising. Two days ago we called you to bring our three-year-old grandson in immediately as we had just left the local beach when our little one got a huge splinter in his foot. It looked deep and he was upset, so I called to make sure that you could help us. You refused to see us and told us to take him to an emergency room. The closest emergency room is 35 minutes away. FOR A SPLINTER!!! We were not asking you to perform surgery, just to remove a splinter. You stated you were afraid that you would not be able to hold him down. Did you even try? Well, my husband and I (his grandparents) held him down while my neighbor, a retired nurse, came over and removed the splinter. If that is the way you would treat your kids, then you should close your practice.
