I have read the other reviews and noticed descriptions of Dr. Schwartz prescribing expensive orthotics. I had the same experience. He stated up front that there would be no refund if they didn't work, and that payment would be cash or check only. They most emphatically did not work, so I bid a sad farewell to my $500. One benefit of this practice is all the car magazines in the waiting room and exam rooms. Often I would be reading one and then carefully escort it out of the office to finish at home. The very last time I was there, I asked him if I could take the one I was reading. He thought about it, then said well, it was OK if I returned it THE NEXT DAY! What? I'm gonna drive an extra 90 miles to read his magazine? There's a pile of about 50 various magazines on the table in the waiting room. Do they carefully inventory all the People, Time and Sports Illustrated magazines, or just the car stuff? Seriously, Schwartz, were you kidding? You could have used my five hundred bucks and bought about 100 damn magazines. Sorry, I will calm down now. Anyway, I could talk cars with Dr. Schwartz all day, but I was pretty disappointed and insulted about this silly magazine issue. I should have ripped it off as usual. But overall, I advise seeking another practice which is less focused on relieving you of your cash for ineffective accessories.

While my appointment went well, the standard insurance paper work for a cortisone shot (the most common intervention other than pain meds) was rejected, and no one from the office followed up. There were no follow up notes after my appointment for next steps. My primary seemed very surprised that this routine procedure was denied which makes me suspect that they didn't do the minimal paperwork required. When you call 'the office', you reach someone at the main switchboard who presumably passes on a message which may or may not be returned. In my case, it was not even though I requested that they resubmit the paperwork. Keep in mind that many many people reaching out to a pain management doctor are in excruciating, debilitating pain. When I finally went in, I was barely able to walk and had to lie down during the appointment due to the extreme pain. Currently, I'm repeatedly leaving messages at the switchboard attempting to try to get my cortisone shot months after all medical staff I met with agreed that it was necessary. If you are in an acute, debilitating situation with your pain, I'd recommend you seek someone who runs a more responsive office.

While I am not qualified to comment on the quality of her work during surgery (and I was anesthetized while that was being done anyway) her reputation as a surgeon is tremendous. I will try to remember to revise this review when I get six months out from surgery but, so far, (knock wood) I could not be happier. I know some people have expressed difficulties with her staff. Like any Doctor who is considered to be at the top of their field, you are going to wait a while. Otherwise, I found the pre surgery process to be reasonably organized and far from onerous. I will try to remember to come back in six months an add to this review but, so far, I am very thankful that Doctor Laroque sas my surgeon.

I had been reading a magazine in the waiting room concerning knee resurfacing surgery.. I said too bad they don't do this for hip replacements. She said" There is hip replacement surgery. I just don't perform them, but Dr. Peatman is qualified to do hip resurfacing surgery". She called his office and I went straight to his office.. was the kindest doctor full of knowledge still very young at the time, he put me at ease and explained everything about the surgery. Having hip replacement surgery was the best decision I've ever made in my life. I've had absolutely no pain in the hip., the morning after my surgery, I hesitated to put weight on that leg for fear of the pain that would happen in my hip. The nurse encouraged me go ahead. It'll be OK,I put my weight on the leg, in total amazement,I had absolutely zero pain deep in my hip. I had forgotten what it felt like to have zero pain in my hip. It was and still is to this day, amazing to be without pain. I love my hip-still to this day love my hip resurfacing surgery. I am so thankful for Dr Thomas Peatman. It goes without saying Dr. Peatman has and always will have his own special place in my heart. His office staff were also wonderful to me. I will add I was his first Hip Replacement Surgery. This is the reason I travel almost 200 miles to be treated by Dr. Peatman. The Webster Orthopedic Group is a class act. Every person I have dealt with has been friendly, polite and professional. Calls are answered or returned promptly, waiting room time for appointments is almost non-existent, Dr. Peatman and his staff are efficient and respectful of my time. Often, they get me in early and out quickly due to my long drive. All my crazy requests are handled efficiently with 5 star customer service. I have never been made to feel I'm asking for too much or wasting the staffs time. Dr. Peatman is a confident but not cocky surgeon who always makes me feel he has my best interests at heart. He takes time to answer my questions and explain treatments and procedures so I fully understand. He never appears to be in a hurry. During my surgeries, I have noticed the operating room support staff seem to enjoy working with Dr. Peatman. I even had one nurse tell me he is the best surgeon she had worked with.
