What church should be. We visited over 12 churches and none were this friendly AND Biblically…read moresound! The pastor is on point, uses the word and is bold for Christ. The congregation is friendly, kind and sincere. The youth pastor is more concerned about discipleship and growing true followers of Christ, rather than just entertaining kids. The only downside is its far for us. Will try to visit and support at least 1 or twice a month.

What an amazing house of God! Pastor Dames and now retired Pastor McClean are two of the most…read moresolid men of Christ I've ever met. They are loyal, passionate, and Christ-centered. During our time at the church we learned a lot. My husband looks upon those men as hero's. I recently lost my sister Kimberly Tippett and one year olsd nephew Kamryn in the North Texas tornado storm. We were helpless as we've never lost an immediate family member or planned a funeral before. My husband called Pastor Dames and he embraced our family and told us whatever we needed the church would meet. He connected us with the bereavement team and they went to work on our behalf. They allowed us to use the church facility at no cost even though my sister was not a member. They pulled out the red carpet! Portia was a complete angel! We were able to be relieved from the extreme stress of planning a funeral of two for such a tragedy of lost. Phenomenal church, non-diluated teaching! Passion for Christ and his followers. Love love love NDCBF!

Long story short, I always looked for Jesus and wasn't raised in a religious family. The Heights,…read moreat the time, truly seemed accepting at first. During a long, hard divorce, where we tried to keep our kids invested in their church, my kid's youth mentor told my child "I'm so sorry you have a mother like yours." She was heartbroken. And refuses to return. None of us are prefect, but I'm private and only one side was heard. Grace wasn't given, love needed to be earned. This church was the final straw and after decades of me searching for God, this Church taught our family that Faith comes from us and not a building full of judges. My kid saw it before I ever did. And that's heartbreaking. Since we left...we coparent and our kids are thriving without having to meet so many moral expectations. So maybe the heights saved us in the end.

This is my church. I had visited two others prior to this one, and it feels like home to me. (The one I attend is for the 50+ age group at 9:30 a.m., so we can attend 11 a.m., and we love it too. It's called Open Door.) I believe their is a mid-week ministry for young adults, and there definitely is that for kids and teens.
