We booked this truck as our dessert for our backyard wedding of 200 guests. We gave them our address, that was in the canyon, and we told them multiple times that our driveway was up a hill. They assured us that that was ok, as long as it was flat at the top to park. (3 times to be exact) The night of the wedding, they showed up on time however they would not go up the driveway. My husband, had to go down our driveway while the reception was happening to try to come up with something so that they would still serve being that it was our wedding dessert! They had our drivers bring their food up and they served churros and ice cream from a table that we had. We hired them because of the food truck. We had a food truck theme to our wedding, both dinner and dessert was supposed to be served food truck style. The dinner food truck had no problems, they looked up our address, made sure it was doable before we paid anything. I was so bummed that our idea was ruined because they did not do their part in making sure our house was an option before booking. This wasn't the only thing though. A few days before the wedding we got a text saying that they have another event the night of our wedding so they had to leave at a specific time. We were able to accommodate and I let it go because I thought maybe it was miscommunication but it was added stress while planning and setting up the wedding and it was very unprofessional. A friend tagged me on their post on fb a few days ago. Never knew they existed til then. Ended up ordering online and got there at my designated pick up time at 5:30. They were very organized. No line and had my order ready to go neatly packaged up. The truck goes to random cities for pick ups so follow them on social media to find where they will be next. In writing over 1,000 Yelp reviews, I haven't written a bad review in several years, as I really hate the idea of writing negative things about a small business. But this one certainly warrants a one star review. TERRIBLE idea to hire them for an event. We decided not to have a wedding cake at our wedding, since we thought it would be so much cooler to have a food truck pull up to serve our guests dessert as a surprise in the last two hours of the night. We had a big open space for our outdoor reception. There were multiple large trucks that went into the area to drop off tables, chairs, as well as a sizable bathroom trailer, and a DJ that played out of a vintage truck that was bigger than the churro truck. We were told that we needed a flat area of three car lengths for the truck to set up. We had a space cleared specifically for that. I found out from my wedding coordinator that the driver refused to drive into the area where the wedding was. Our wedding coordinator told us that she "argued" with the driver for about 10 minutes and there was nothing she could say that he was going to come down into our wedding space. He parked a couple hundred yards away, in an unlit spot. Many of our guests did not know that the truck was up there. That is, not until they were leaving two hours later and were handed a churro as they were walking to their car. Far from the vision that we had in mind when we decided to skip the wedding cake for surprise churros. My husband reached out to the owner Diana with his dissatisfaction, and she did not care to make any kind of resolution. Diana responded that if the driver had driven down there, a branch from one of our trees would've damaged the truck. There were no branches in the way that would have damaged the truck. As I mentioned, there were several larger trucks driving in and out of the space without any issues at all throughout that day into the evening. Poor, poor customer service. I needed someone for the Thousand Palms area and I did find another churro vendor that was in Rialto, California willing to be a part of the event I have next month Update-I'm not sure why my review was removed. But I have proof and will add it to my review. I did call this location before I even submitted a quote through Yelp. I spoke to Diana on Sept 15th and asked if they service the 92276 area. She checked and said yes. Then quoted me $1700 for two hours and to service 150 guest. I told her thank you for that info, and that I'll get back to her once I have checked with my husband before contracting them. That same day I had filled out a quick search through Yelp to get as many churro vendors, and get quotes through multiple spots. Oddly the Churro Truck shot me a response saying that they don't service this area. Why is it that when I actually called their phone number, they quoted me and said yes? You order online for the location they will be at, pay for your order and then go at your designated pick-up time. It was super organized, no waiting and virtually no contact. They were friendly and efficient. Now about those churros - hands down the best I have every had. They were warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. All 5 grandchildren were in churro heaven. The ice cream was delicious with the churros. That was a first for me. My only issue was that they only give you 1 tiny container of each topping for a huge family pack plus all of the extra churros that I purchased. I had to buy several extras separately once I arrived. I just don't think that is reasonable for that many churros and five cups of ice cream. Aside from that, I would definitely do this again. Lazy and dishonest service. They agreed to serve desert at our wedding, but the driver refused to drive to venue. He told his management there were "branches" in the way, but that is a lie. There were a couple willow tree vines and he could clearly see that three trucks bigger than his own had made it back there with no difficulty. Instead he set up several hundred yards away from the venue and many guests never knew he was there. When I expressed my disappointment with this, the manager Diana told me she considered their end of the bargain upheld because the driver gave out churros to guests as they left. Imagine ordering a wedding cake and the bakery just handing out slices in the parking lot after the reception... that is what they consider service. On top of that Diana was inconsiderate in her response and tried to twist my words so that it seemed I was complaining about something I had never said. Frustrating and dishonest. The few guests who did know the truck was here during the reception said the churros were good. I hope everyone else got to enjoy them on their car ride home, but that is not at all what we paid for and the management/staff could not care less. read more
