When booking I didn't get a lot of information from the receptionist about the different services & what would be a good recommendation. When I did book the "esthetician" arrived 20 minutes late which should have been an indication to leave. My skin is not acne prone & I do not get blemishes. For some reason she decided to squeeze at my skin leaving me with discomfort. After the facial I did realize my skin was irritated & red with my skin raised where she applied pressure . The next day I had scabs where she ripped my skin. Now I have to walk around with bruises and scabs on my forehead. I will not be back & do not recommend this place. You're supposed to walk out feeling refreshed. I now feel Insecure about my skin (which I never do) & have to apply makeup to cover up the unfortunate mistakes made. Disappointing overall. I booked a massage and body scrub here for my birthday, diverting from my usual place (Spa Dew) to something that I thought would be even more luxurious. In short, it wasn't. Checking in, I was treated as if I was seeing the hostess at Applebee's vs. checking in to what I thought was a premium spa. The locker room was fine except every shower was out of some products, which seemed weird. The pre-treatment room was odd in that there was some water to drink but no tea, which is usually fairly standard. The chairs were overly large and the lights on the walls read old church vs. premium day spa. Then, the treatments. The scrub was fine. 3 I would say, middle of the road. But the massage was so odd, I couldn't understand how it could be quite so weird. 1) The masseuse was wearing an ear bud the whole time. Wha? Nothing makes you feel like the person is less "in the room" than them wearing an ear bud like they're taking conference calls. 2) I asked for a pillow for my head and she acted like that was a strange request, though for the record, did provide. 3) When I waited outside for the massage while the room was getting cleaned after the scrub, she remarked that it smelled like "cat pee" in the hallway where I was sitting when coming to pick me up. Either don't mention that or apologize because of it. 4) She never asked me about the temperature or pressure. That's standard everywhere to check in with the client. 5) When I walked in, she asked me if I was there to celebrate anything even though I put it in my pre-questionnaire, making it clear that no one read it. If that's the case, don't send it. 6) What I did like was the aromatics used and the sound in the room. 7) Way too expensive for the quality received, which made me down right angry. I was so upset about the experience here for my birthday that I booked another appointment for a body scrub and massage that weekend at Spa Dew, which is FANTASTIC by the way. As an example, there, the room you change in is fully stocked with products, you start with a steam sauna, then a body scrub, then a wet oil massage, then they wash your hair, then you get a mask, and then a dry sauna, all with far more care and wayyyyy less expensive than this place. Just wish I had never booked anything here. Lesson learned. read more

3.5 stars I went to Woodhouse Spa for a 50-minute Body Balance massage, which was essentially their signature version of a Swedish rub. Upon my arrival, I found the woman at the front desk a bit rude, curt, and unfriendly. After filling out the necessary paperwork, she took me through the waiting area, which offered lemon water and some light snacks, and into the locker room. She assigned me a locker and explained that I should put on a robe and grab some of the offered sandals. Thankfully I had been there in the past when it was a Bliss Spa, so I knew that the area also included a sauna and showers at the other end. After I changed, I was looking forward to relaxing in the waiting area, but was immediately scooped up by my masseuse, Leslie C. She escorted me to a spacious, elegant room with a heated table. She asked me about areas to focus on and did actually concentrate her time on those regions. She also was courteous enough to ask if I minded if she included my scalp and feet in the process, to which I agreed. Lastly, she wanted to know the amount of pressure I wanted her to use. I said that she could use heavy pressure, at which point she said that she would need to then upgrade me to a Deep-Tissue, which was an additional $20. The massage was pricey enough, so I just said to stick with whatever she could provide with the Body Balance version, which wound up be light pressure that was relaxing, yet still effective. In fact, I fell asleep! The 50 minutes went by very quickly. Afterwards, Leslie C. escorted me back downstairs, but had to go into the rear room to get me some water. She said that the place was going to be closing momentarily, so that I only had time to change. I stated that my appointment was from 4:15-5:05, but that they were supposed to be open until 7:00 pm. She said that, since I was the last client, they would be closing early. I was furious! After paying all of that money, I was unable to enjoy any of the included amenities that I had been looking forward to. Instead, I had to quickly dress and leave. While my massage was extremely relaxing, I would think twice about returning after that experience. read more

They refused service to my 12 year old last minute literally after contacting me 3 times over the phone to confirm they will provide service to her as long as I am the legal guardian and stay in the room for the time of the service. The (blondish) lady at the front desk who rejected us was completely unprofessional and demonstrated an "I-do-not-care-about-you attitude" in front of a child who was very excited to receive her first 50 min. of Swedish massage, a birthday wish from three months ago. The attitude wasn't really necessary, it was not cool telling me they just changed their policy literally 3 minutes ago. Such horrible manners from a lady who is probably a mother herself! And she did not look uncomfortable at all while doing this. Conclusion: lack of customer service, moody staff. Avoid this place, or lower your expectations. read more

I am unable to respond to her comment, but want others to see how misguided her response is: I'm following up on this, as it seems that management is more interested in saving face on my Yelp review than addressing my concerns in the first place. I am unable to respond to Alla's comment on Yelp, pasted below, for your reference, but I'd like to clarify a few points, as I continue to pursue this dispute with my credit card company: 1. I had to follow up 4 times (email and phone) before getting any response from any management, and this was only when I threatened to dispute the charge and post a review. I also requested a phone call which I still have not received. 2. The reason I have been so adamant about a phone call is because there were no efforts made to assuage my concerns directly or provide updates on the 'investigation' being pursued. To be clear, I never accused the spa of bed bugs. The only person who used the term bed bugs was Alla in her response to me. Since no one could be bothered to pick up the phone to clarify, or apparently read the entirety of my messages, I'll post a sentence from my initial review for reference: "I won't accuse the Spa outright of having any specific type of bug outbreak, but I will say that the way that they've chosen to handle this issue is poor customer service (at best) and wildly irresponsible (at worst)." 3. To that point, the snide remark that I should 'seek medical treatment for my distress' is both unwarranted and misguided. My distress came from your lack of response, lack of quality customer service and lack of diligence in looking into the matter, and, therefore, no 'medical treatment' could remedy that. The only remedy would be for you to provide the quality of customer service that you tout on your website. I won't say that I look forward to a call or response from your management team on this matter -- At this point, I've given up hope on that. The best that I can hope for is that this feedback on poor customer service/experience is taken into consideration so that other guests don't suffer the same fate as I did. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you want to be cheated out of a service, go here!!! My partner and I booked a 50 minute massage service as we really wanted to get a massage and relax. Woodhouse Spa has great reviews and we have gone here previously so we were excited. Turns out: this 50 minute massage ended up being terrible. My partners masseuse had acrylics on that were very long so she wasn't able to fully enjoy, and even though we paid for 50 minutes, we only received a 40 minute massage. We were frustrated since we paid for 50 so when asked at the front desk how it was, we told them it was short 10 minutes. We explained to the person at the front desk that we started 5 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early so we only received a 40 minute massage. The front desk person told me they would get back to me within the next 30 minutes with a refund. One day later, they finally called and confirmed that they did in-fact confirm with our masseuses that our massages were only 40 minutes (so Woodhouse spa confirmed we were 10 minutes short) and not the 50 we paid for. They then stated that they received guidance from "upper management" that they can only give us a 10% refund as. When I told them that the 10% refund doesn't cover the money that we lost in the service, their response was "this was protocol" and "that is what upper management approved". We paid for a service we did not receive, even when Woodhouse Spa's own staff CONFIRMED that they cut our massages 10 minutes short for no reason. My partner wasn't able to enjoy their massage because of the long acrylics from their masseuse and when we told the manager that we aren't getting what we paid for, we were pushed to the side. What a prime example of terrible service, even worse leadership from the manager and 'upper management' and incompetence. read more

I booked a massage and facial for myself and my friend. An hour before the appointment the spa called to say only one of us could receive a massage because one masseuse was out. I said no problem my friend could have it and I would just do the facial. When we arrived the receptionist insisted we split the massage instead and each do about 30 mins. We agreed to this. The entire service - massage and facial - were standard. Nothing amazing. When we go to pay, splitting the massage results in an extra charge!! It was truly incredible. Will never go back. Overpriced. Ordinary at best. And terrible customer service. read more

I have many rheumatological issues. I was shaking my whole way there. But Dani at the front desk was such a relaxing presence. When I was waiting in the (beautiful and serene) lounge before my massage, she came in and was so sweet while refilling the cucumber water. Then, Danielle (the massage therapist, different than Dani), walked me upstairs and was so patient as I walked up, and I was very comfortable explaining my fibromyalgia to her. By the the time the massage was over, I genuinely wasn't shaking anymore. When I checked out, Dani's warm and kind personality made it so that I was calm and relaxed all the way back to the car, not just relaxed until I left the massage room. I'd recommend this spa any day, but hopefully you'll book an appointment for a day when Dani is working! You won't just leave smiling, but chances are, she'll also make you laugh. read more

I had such a wonderful time at this spa. Leslie was my massage therapist and she was wonderful! I opted to get a combination exfoliation with hot stone massage and acupuncture and it was soooo nice! Typically I just go for a deep tissue massage but I wanted to try something new and I am so happy that I did! During this season where our skin can get so dry it was nice to have this hydrating treatment combined with the hot stones. I really enjoyed the acupuncture part as well and could have added another hour to that part alone-- ultimate relaxation! If you are looking for a clean spa with wonderful service and professionalism, this is your spa. read more

I came for a massage which was good, not the best massage I've ever gotten. At the end, the staff tried to push 3 different products on me to buy along with a massage package. They did not disclose any prices to me but kept pushing that my masseuse really recommends them for me. Feeling pressured, I bought one product and when I left I looked at my receipt and it was $110 for one product. Realizing this was outrageous, I looked online and the website stated that products can be returned within 30 days of purchase. Two days later, I went back to return this product, never opened, and they told me I could not return it due to COVID. Since COVID has been around for almost 2 years, they should update their website since it has false information. Safe to say I will never go back. read more
