Rating: 4.4 Decided to visit on the past day before going back home. We intentionally planned so that this will be last so that we can take the day to relax and rest our body to go back home to our daily lives after busy day in NYC. We did some research and made sure to come on weekday earlier in the morning so that it's not too congested. We got there at 10:00am on Monday morning as which was perfect time. They have valet parking but it cost additional money so we just used their free parking lot which is located a block away from the main building on the same side. Once we got there we checked in and were guided through with instruction on what to expect and rules. Once you check in your bag gets checked. Be aware that you cannot bring any outside food or drink. You can bring empty water bottle/container which is highly recommended. After the bag check you take your shoes off and drop them off at the shoe locker which is guided by the staff. After that you enter the inner zone. It's recommended to start at floor 4 so that you can go to the main locker to drop off your other luggage and change into swimwear if not already. It's also recommended to take a quick shower before going into the pools and baths which you may want to do once you go to the bathroom. Once you are settled you can put your robe and go on your way to the amenities. We started our experience on the 4th floor at the outdoor bath. Started on foot bath with stones, silk bath, carbon bath, and hinoki bath which were nice and relaxing. We then went to Dry sauna and ganbanyoku which is hot stone sauna. Hot stone sauce had few different type of stone you can lay on so we decided to try all of them. Once we were done we went into the cold bath with waterfall to cool ourselves and went to try the bath with water jets/hydrotherapy. There were few different types that target your back, neck, foot, ...etc. we basically tried them all. They feel pretty nice and some are pretty strong almost like S massage. Once we were done with 4th floor we registered for volcanic sand bath which is an extra charge $20 experience per person. We scheduled a time and went up to 6th floor for our session. Once they are ready they go over some information and precautions and get you changed to yukata. They do recommend to go naked under for full experience and i do recommend it as well. Once you are ready the staff will take you to a spot and have you lay down and start to cover you in volcanic sand from Japan. Once you are covered you lay there and enjoy the experience. It's like you are laying in the sand at the beach that are hot and heavy. Its feels very nice and relaxing. They will leave you about 10 minutes and will give you some cold towel on your head which feels great. You will start to feel some sweat dripping from your body and your face. Once it's about 15minutes the staff will come and direct you to get up and give you some water to hydrate. They will make sure you feel ok before directing you to go to the shower to wash yourself up before changing back to your Swimsuit. It's a good idea to go full naked under because sand will get under everywhere and you can clean them off during the shower. Once you are cleaned up we took a quick break and had lunch at the food court which is directly next to the volcanic sand bath on 6th floor. We got bulgogi with rice and fries to share which was ok. Bit expensive but to be expected with facility of this kind. Once we were done eating we went down to 5th floor to enjoy the saunas. We tried pretty much all of the saunas including salt, charcoal, red brick, infrared, stone, and clay. We took a quick break in ice room and once we finished the sauna we took a quick break at the relaxation area and lay down for a bit. Once we were relaxed we went up to the 7th floor and enjoyed the infinity pool. You can see the skyline of NYC across the hudson river. Took some photos of the gorgeous view. We lay down for a bit to relax and went back down to finish the day with foot bath as we were cold coming out of the pool. We went back to the 4th floor to change and check out. Got our shoes and walked back to the parking lot yo head out. Overall i liked the experience that was offered at sojo spa club. I can see that our experience may have been different if it was on weekends and or if the weather was not good but we planned well and was also lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy the facility to its full extent and i liked it. Service was good and a lot of the process was stream lined so that our time waiting was minimized. Would come back again. read more

Got some good experience and paid the price tag to prove it~ services like massages seem over priced but there are other options not too steep like the volcanic rock session of 15mins for $20 and 30 minutes of smaller services for $60-$75. The volcanic rock seemed the most worth it. Admission itself is $60 on certain days. Weekdays seem like the main move to make to avoid the crowds. For a Monday, it was full but not crowded or overly loud. Decent amount of people. A lot of the negative reviews seem to come from weekend goers~ You're not coming here for an amazing meal, but I did enjoy my meal! Better then I expected, and I expected a main food hall like of meal~ my bulgogi rice bowl was weirdly in two bowls and needed to eat separately because I couldn't just dump the rice on the meat. It was very tasty and savory! my fries were very crispy, fluffy and salty~ great to maintain your electrolytes up~ I was not disappointed and was very satisfied with my meal~ yes, a tad over priced with a total of $30. Bring your own bottles to refill at water stations~ juice and other drinks can be sold here but are pricy. You wear bathing suits and robes are provided to you. There seems to be staff everywhere working and moving to provide information, maintain clean facilities, dry floors, and replacing any missing items or leading individuals around. They were enforcing the no phones in locker rooms rules to everyone, even when you were not taking pictures which is nice to be yourself and change. Phones were allowed elsewhere for texting and general usage as long as you weren't bothering guest or loud. Very positive experience! I definitely recommend doing daily admissions and enjoying the amenities provided and enjoy a light meal to stay hydrated and full of energy to relax. Huuuuge place. Pros- seems pretty clean, lots to do, they even have a swimming pool and gym with yoga classes (free with admission) but I didnt try that. They have disposable slippers for when using the bathroom. Unlimited towels u can use. They got stacks of towels everywhere u can just grab and go, and not have to reuse the same sweaty towel the whole day. Tips- bring socks to wear while using the saunas if youre one of those germophobic people. Slippers arent allowed in those areas. Its been years since Ive last come and I just came over Memorial day weekend. I didnt have a reservation because I had expired gift cards from 2021 that I wanted to use (as face value) and I couldnt use them on the website. Tip: you can call them to make reservations. I didnt call because it was forecasted to rain and I didnt know if I really wanted to go there while it was raining. But i drove to them on a saturday morning anyway and decided to walk in. They initially wouldnt let me do a walk in as they were busy for memorial day weekend but after i told them about my expired gift cards, the manager agreed to let me and my husband come in. Anyway, place is huge. Pools were nice. Saunas were nice. The only room i didnt like was the Ganbanyoku (bed rock bathing). Maybe because it is located right next to the pools and everyone just walks in wet, but that room stinks like wet towels. Place also got pretty busy towards the afternoon so I recommend going early! It was mostly light rain throughout the day so we had no issues being outside in the pool. Food is not cheap and i wish they had more korean choices other than bulgogi rice. I was craving for korean soup noodle! Overall, i had a nice relaxing time here with my husband. Towards the end, we went back to our own gender bathhouses and gave ourselves 45 minutes to enjoy the pools in there and shower and then leave. We stayed at sojo for about 5 hours. Overall feeling: Super nice and fancy but I cannot fully relax knowing how much money I'm spending. I got a couples massage with my partner that came with two free hours to explore the spa afterwards. The massage was amazing. They did such a good job and the space felt super clean. Not much other to say other than I felt completely relaxed and they made sure that we were comfortable with the levels of pressure and the products they were using. I felt super taken care of the entire time! Afterwards we had two complimentary hours in the spa. The locker rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is attentive and helpful. I really loved the bathhouses/ saunas/ showers that were in the women's room. The saunas and pools were fun! We explore what we could within our two hours and were able to hit almost everything that was free. And with that being said, I could not image paying the hefty fee to spend the whole day here. After the two hours I was ready to eat some food (the cafe food was so expensive so we passed on it) and take a nap. It was a ton of fun, but at the price point of $300 each for the day I will NEVER do this again. One more shoutout to the staff. They made the place feel luxurious. But with the lack of things to do other than just sit in a crowded pool or sauna, I cannot image how anyone can spend an entire day here. read more

Had a great time yesterday at sojo spa. First time here with my friends to celebrate a birthday and def enjoyed the time spent. They have valet parking and we were able to check in and have parking covered due to reservations. They checked our ids and bags and then we left our shoes inside a locker. We headed up and there's 4 floors 4-7. We started off at 4 at the locked room and they are very strict about phone usage in the bathroom which i liked and thought Made sense for privacy but some people were texting and being told to put the phones away. After we put our things away we put our robes on and headed to check out the place. Everything is pretty spread out and nothing was really crowded. We enjoyed the pools especially more than the saunas and felt pretty relaxed. We didn't get food here but i did buy an orange juice which was $6 and good. The infinity pool here is beautiful and the view is amazing. The pools in the locker room are really nice and clean and so are the showers. I took a nice shower before we headed out. This place is definitely a money grab. Admission itself ranges between $110-140 depending on the day of the week. This doesn't include any extra stuff they have available such as volcano bath (which is an extra $20). So pretty much you're paying the money for saunas, hot pools, steam rooms and a place to nap! I think massages are around $230 which is way expensive imo. Valet was $15. Facility itself was ok. It gets pretty crowded throughout the day so it's best to go early. The outdoor pool doesn't really get that hot but it had a nice view. Food was awful. Our stomachs didn't feel good after eating their lunch items. It's a place to check out once, but I probably won't be coming back. There's better facilities in the city that is more intimate/exclusive. read more

Had a beautiful day with a group of 11 women! We bought day passes and each picked our own experiences. This place is known for the Korean Scrub. The deluxe Korean scrub was invigorating and left my skin butter soft. My friends really enjoyed the deep tissue massage, and foot massage. The saunas and pools were plentiful and fabulous. This place was packed and yet there wasn't anything too busy for me to experience. The volcanic ash burial was a different experience that I am glad that I did but probably wont do again. The cafeteria food was delicious. The only problem I have is with the checkout process, it almost erased all the pleasure gathered all day. Was literally planning the return trip and now they are giving me doubts that I want to return. We were double charged, reassured that charges were refunded without a receipt showing the void. They mixed charges with separate parties! Would not honor a deal that staff advertised on the phone. The manager was only relaying messages through the employees before finally coming out. The company does not empower their employees to handle errors and I have never been someplace that doesn't care if you leave unhappy like this! I am walking away wondering how much I have been charged, what surprise bill I might have and the extra cost I had to pay the driver to wait while I had an hour long bill settling session before riding two hours home! First time coming here. Though I didn't stay overnight, I love the ability to book a hotel room within the same building--true indulgence. If I came back, I'd spend more time in the hydrotherapy pools. So many different jets to hit all over your body. 1/3 of them didn't work though. The cafeteria food was alright. I don't intentionally eat "healthy" foods but I can tell this menu did its best to still provide flavorful options and variety. I think the wet sauna must have sweated all the water out of me because the dry sauna and hot beds weren't as hot as I expected. I noticed the floor lounging beds had dead skin cells on them. Felt extremely unsanitary and literally left to find another. Really wish the spa sandals were complimentary. I finally made it to SoJo. After years of living in New Jersey and New York, I did the thing. And honestly, it was OK. Food: very decent. I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would and more than I enjoy at most larger Korean spas. I got the bulgogi bowl and I was not only pleasantly surprised by the food, but also the service. One of the team members was very helpful and even brought me my drink when she noticed that my hands were full and that I couldn't easily carry the tray. Security: Bruh... I have never seen such aggressive security in my life. There was a woman going through bags with a vengeance. Obviously, they don't allow any drugs or alcohol, but I saw her pretty much pull everything out of one bag and start checking extremely small compartments because she said she "smelled something." when the person informed her that it was removed and left in the car, she kept digging around. Again, I understand, but it was so aggressive and not a positive start to the experience. Every person with a bag had their bag pretty much tossed around by this one particular person. Outdoor pools: these were nice, but I really was not that impressed. They weren't as hot as I would've liked and definitely not as clean. We came on Saturday afternoon so the spa was very obviously more packed than it probably is during the week, and the views are gorgeous, but the pools left a lot to be desired, especially given the price point. The areas around the pools were also a bit dirtier and unkempt than I would've liked. Indoor saunas and rooms: I love the variety here. There is so much variety here. But there are also so many people who go into these saunas and are loud for no reason. In fact, what I enjoyed most was being in the quiet area, just laying on the reclining chair and staring out the window. The locker room area was very chaotic and overwhelming. In fact, I didn't even make it to the bathhouse section, which is typically my favorite, because there was so much chaos in the locker room. I think I would be more open to giving this place another chance during the week. I definitely want them to train their security guards to have a bit less of an aggressive demeanor, especially when people are coming to this spot to relax. I really can't get over the price point, though. I don't think it's worth that price. Having been to these types of spas across the country, I don't think it's justified. Although I lived in NJ for years, had many friends visit, colleagues stay at the hotel, and driven by dozens of times, this was my first visit. We booked a couples massage which included valet parking and two hours at the spa. Having traveled to Korea many times and experienced authentic spa culture, I can say that Sojo tries hard to emulate. However they miss the mark because it's hard to change American culture. Doing what's best for the common good - a somewhat involuntary trait in Korean culture that's based on respect - doesn't translate in an individualistic American culture. So this means guests at Sojo display constant etiquette missteps that impact everyone else's Sojo experience. Because of this, I found Sojo to be a mix of Disneyland, IKEA, and what I imagine to be cruise ship culture. Cameras out everywhere including the men's and women's locker rooms. Talking when they shouldn't. Standing around in open spa doorways...while heat escapes. Generally showing up like it's a tour and always trying to achieve an instagram moment. Sojo doesn't help the situation with their Disneyland turnstile approach to managing crowds and the number of people allowed at one time. We found multiple spas or spaces overcrowded and unusable. It diminished the experience. Our massage was nice and masseuses were great. However again, the waiting room felt like churn and burn and was less relaxing. Would I return? Maybe on a weekday morning as the weekend was crowded but itcertainly wouldn't be a regular event. One recommendation to Sojo management: ban phones throughout. One of my favorite experiences from my trip to NY. My favorite spa experiences have been in Asia and Sojo Spa Club was a pleasant surprise! There are seven floors. The infinity pool on the top floor is a beautiful place to watch the sunset and see the skyline at night, as long as you ignore the construction between you and the view. The first floor we almost skipped, luckily we didnt because it was the most fun floor. A variety of hydromassage setups throughout the pool targeting different areas. This pool was very fun. There were saunas, cold rooms, the standard variety of salt rooms, clay rooms, etc. I loved that this place was spotless, and the crowd was very doable for a Saturday in summer. I absolutely love come here on the weekdays! Their price is around $90 for the spa entry and it is fairly empty on weekdays, especially in the winter. The only downside of this place, for me, is the food. They have the cafeteria and most of their food ranges from $18-$30 which I think is a bit overpriced, especially considering the quality of the food that you get. This time I got there to go to Ramen and pay around $22 for it, which was a lot more than you would pay at a regular Ramen place and the Ramen itself was not good - the broth was in savory, the egg wasn't runny, the chicken was very rubbery, and it overall didn't even match a food court quality Ramen. They have multiple saunas and outside baths, which are incredibly relaxing and very well taken care of. Their massage service is also pretty good - just know that they already include the tip for the massage therapist when you first schedule the session. It's nice that they have valet parking, but it feels like you have pretty much no choice, but to take it, since the parking lot for the place is in a very awkward and hard to find spot. The only thing I would change about this truly would be the food, as I think it really does impact your experience at the spa. read more

Do NOT go here if it's raining or if the outdoor area is closed due to weather. They were completely overwhelmed and oversold spa access on the weekday we chose to visit. All the pool areas were crowded at 10am, so we couldn't even get in. The saunas were unusable because so many people were looking for a place to go that the doors kept opening every 15 seconds, preventing them from heating up properly. The quiet area with chairs was so crowded that people were using them like lounge chairs on a cruise ship, with one person holding a chair for six people's belongings. It just felt like a complete waste of money to pay for spa access. They are not trying to create a luxury spa experience, just 100% a cash grab. I booked a couples massage for my wife and me, and considering the $500+ price, I expected a luxury experience. We showed up 15 min early, as typically spas at this price point will offer tea, a relaxing environment, and go over where you'd like to focus your treatment before you begin. When we arrived, they told us to come back in 10 minutes, because we were too early. Then, when we arrived 5 minutes before our service, they still said they weren't ready for us to come back; it was a terrible start. I've had over a hundred massages over the past 10+ years, and at the 200$+ price point, this one was in the bottom 5 I've experienced. Just mediocre at best. To top it off, at the end, the masseuse hard-sold the oils/lotions they use, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I get a better massage at Bergen Spa in Brooklyn for $55, and given there was no high-end experience here, it's the same. I wouldn't come back even if they charged half of what they do. Not much has changed at Sojo since my last visit a year ago. It's still a great deal if you time your visit. Browse their website for the calendar of pricing and you'll find a day that's a solid value for the what you get during your visit across the 4 floors. Hydrotherapy pools, assorted saunas, other focus pools, an infinity pool, and cafe with great food offerings. The food is extra of course, but I'm sure you'll be happy with what you purchase. We can't veer from the tuna poke (it turns heads), but everything I saw looks delicious. We aim to arrive right at the opening - 9 AM. It's quiet, peaceful and the crowd won't be noticed until at least after 11. So you'll get a few hours of tranquility. In the afternoons, it can get busy and you'll almost certainly encounter people who keep blabbing. Overall, we leave completely relaxed and having enjoyed our visit... Of 5-6 hours! Watch their website for deals on gift cards. I bought one this time that includes bonus dollars, which help pay for food or maybe a smoothie at the end. On that note, I tried a berry smoothie and it was refreshing to enjoy during my drive home. I still recommend this place, but definitely a weekday and as early as possible. read more

I recently visited SoJo Spa Club in Edgewater for a Korean massage and to enjoy the mineral pools. I've been to several Korean spas in the past and usually love the experience -- it's typically relaxing, warm, and feels like a retreat. The facility itself is beautiful. It's clean, modern, and well-maintained. The mineral pools and amenities are impressive, and everything is organized efficiently. However, the overall vibe wasn't what I was expecting. There are a lot of rules, multiple monitors throughout the property, and a security-style check-in process. While the staff were polite and professional, the interactions felt very mechanical -- almost robotic. Everyone was nice, but it lacked warmth and that personal, high-end hospitality feel that makes a spa experience truly special. For someone who prefers a more relaxed, human-centered, luxury atmosphere, this felt a bit rigid and institutional. If you value structure, organization, and a very controlled environment, you may appreciate it. For me, I was hoping for something softer and more organic. read more

Ok, so I visited over the summer and I'd intended to update and forgot. Look, it has sooo much potential, but unfortunately people don't quite understand spa culture. Who am I right, but allow me the moment you break it down: 1) Spa's are supposed to be quiet. No one wants to hear about your tawdry love affairs or vacation plans spoken loudly in the Himalayan Salt room or anywhere else for that matter. you are not in a hotel getting ready for the club in Vegas. 2) Spa's are supposed to be clean and places where people go to get clean, the most disturbing thing is the amount of people NOT properly bathing before dipping into the communal pools. And please don't hit me with the I bathed at home, which actual supports my point. No one wants to be bathing in your body grease. These are two damn must dos that are mostly completely overlooked at SoJo. I really want to love this place because besides the unruly and unclean clientele, it's damn near perfectly laid out. I've been wanting to try this place because of the photos I've been seeing all over the internet about the view and outdoor jacuzzis. This place exceeded my expectations on every level. Food prices were lower than expected(I'm from NYC). It would be top tier tier if they had cocktails though. Very clean. The main thing that floored me was that they have jacuzzis all around the outside perimeter of the fourth floor which makes for great photos. But as you go up in floors the views get better and better. My favorite was the top floor jacuzzi. They have huge half baked cookies that are delicious. They have fro yo! I finally made it to SoJo Spa, thanks to a dear friend who treated me to a day here since I'd never been. Daily admission range from $90-$135. My best advice: go during the week, and go as early as possible. The pools and café were practically empty, making it a peaceful and restorative experience. The highlight for me was the large infinity pool on the top floor, perfectly warm and relaxing with beautiful views. I also loved exploring the quiet areas, which were perfect for taking a break between pools, and trying both the hot and cold saunas for a full reset. Where to begin?? I'll start at the very beginning of our family adventure to celebrate my sister's 50th. We arrived a little more than an hour before our appt check in time to be greeted by a long line for valet. Once we got the car checked in, we went to another line to check in(you get 4 totally hours from the minute you check in!! Anything more and they charge you), then to another line for them to check your bag. Think TSA... Then you get moved along to a shoe locker room where you remove your shoes right before you walk in and lock them up for the duration of your stay. Then you can walk barefoot or with socks through an electronic gate to go to the fourth floor to the locker rooms. It's chaotic!! the elevators are packed. The place looks like an airport or Grand central terminal, but everyone is barefoot and in white robes. Locker sizes are fine. You can only wear your sandals/flip flops in certain areas. So those were on and off. Can't use phones in certain areas, can't talk in certain areas. By the time we got to the spa service area, all 4 of us were stressed out!!! We couldn't use the pre service lounge because it was being sanitized. There aren't enough lounge chairs in the other lounge. We we went in for our services. I did the add on to my massage for a 10 minute head massage. After my regular massage, He put in some putty like stuff, but as he was putting it in, he was basically pulling my hair. I was cringing. When it was done, there was no time to relax before getting up. It was basically get dressed and get out and then walked out into the spa services lobby. No after massage relaxation room. The lounge chairs in the quiet room are okay, nothing special. The saunas and stone rooms and salt rooms are alllll packed. We finally found a few beds for the hot stone beds(8 beds), only to have the person next to us snoring. Lucky them. We made our way to the infinity pool, which looks lovely, but is small for the amount of guests there and there are only like 15 lounge chairs there and at least 50 people in the pool. We decided we had enough stress and as a group of 4, it was almost $1300. None of us want to go in the near future, unless they make some changes. Oh and they add the spa gratuity on top of the post tax price. There should also be a separate locker room for those that are gender neutral. I did not feel comfortable with a trans man in there. Some may be legit trans and some may just be pervs. Sorry, but as much as I believe everyone is entitled to be comfortable in their own skin, myself and others should be comfortable as well. I had heard good things about this spa and it did not disappoint! It's probably the biggest and most comprehensive spa facility I've encountered in the NYC area. It's a little hard to get to from Manhattan but the bus from PABT drops you right in front of it. I came on a weekday around 4pm ($90 for admission), and by then it was already a bit crowded, but I never had to wait for any of the different pools/saunas. There's a bunch of different unique experiences spread across several floors, my favorites being the Hinoki bath, infinity pool, and charcoal sauna! I also got a Margherita pizza from the food court ($18) which was really good! All the facilities were clean and well maintained. I just wish we were given some disposable slippers or something rather than having to be barefoot. Would recommend as a great way to treat yourself or hang out with friends! read more

Great spa, lots of amenities including various saunas, outdoor hot tub/pools, indoor bath house, infinity pool, volcanic bath, and fitness center. There are also yoga classes on the weekends and a dining area. I visited once before with a day pass and recently came back for a service. I had the hot stone massage which was so very relaxing. It does get very busy with guests using day passes. Arrive early to avoid any delays at check in. Valet parking is included with services. It's a barefoot facility, we used grip socks. They also sell them if you don't have a pair or forget them. We brought flip flops for the hot tubs, but didn't use them much. Went during the winter and there are enclosures for going between the various pools and hot tubs. With a service, you are allowed 2 hours to use the facilities after your services. To stay longer it's half price of the day pass admission. 2 hours flew by. Also note: Check in is requested an hour prior to your service, this does not count towards your 2 hour limit. read more

Beautiful spa club with exquisite views of Manhattan's skyline. The sauna and baths were beautiful, but overcrowded and not relaxing. If on a Sunday, you will find yourself waiting in line to be next for whatever you choose to do. It was $145 per person for the entry into their facilities. You are given a robe and towel to this shoeless spa. You may purchase massages etc at an extra cost. Although it was well maintained, I got a "public pool" vibe from it, sadly. They have a strict no alcohol and vaping policy. At check in, you are given a bracelet that is your "card/wallet" for the day. No outside food or beverages are allowed. Your bags are thoroughly checked upon checking in. We had a nice time, but I don't think I would return. read more

Wonderful experience! We had a great time and absolutely loved the place. I was very happy, and so was my wife. I just wish we lived closer. The cold plunge pool was amazing for my sore muscles, and my wife's favorite was the hydrotherapy pool. We also had lunch there. I'm a big foodie, so the food experience matters to me. Visually, everything looked great, but the ramen was lacking in flavor and wasn't served hot, which was disappointing. The ginger chicken had a mix of flavors that didn't really come together for me. On the bright side, the steak and onion sandwich had great flavor and was definitely the highlight of the meal. read more

We had such a fun time at the SoJo Spa Club! It was fun to have a handful of amenities under one roof. The services were great and I really enjoyed my massage. Staff were friendly and spaces were cleanly. I was really excited for the food, but was disappointed. I really enjoyed my fist visit here with my fiancé and made reservations to go back this year for her birthday. The price was $140 per person when I reserved in February. In March I needed to change our reservation day but saw all the prices had gone up to $155 per person and they wouldn't honor the price I had for my original reservation. Unfortunately we bought gift certificates or I would not come back for that price. Once I use up these certificates I think we're done visiting since we don't feel it's worth it anymore, the price was $80 in 2019, jumping to $125 a couple of years ago, and now $155. 2nd time at Sojo, first time was 9 years ago. Still the same, i didnt notice anything new. A nice spa to do with family or friends. But not my favorite as i dont find it relaxing, more of a social setting and way over priced. I have my favorite spa I go to often and this place just doesn't compare. Visit here every quarter for a reset. This visit was on Saturday with a 10A entry time. Interesting because it was already busy. Facilities are clean with employees everywhere keeping the floors dry. This visit was March 2026 and the facility still has the outdoor renting up that helped you keep warm when walking between the outdoor amenities. Soaked in both Silk Baths, Carbon Dioxide Bath and the Hinoki Bath. The Hydropool is a must. Also went for a sauna circuit, starting with Red Clay and increasing in temperature finishing with the salt room. Tried the Volcanic Sand Bath for the first time and it was great but difficult to get through the whole 15 minutes because of the extreme heat. I would still do this again. I always love coming here. The weekdays are better because it is cheaper but it was still crowded when I went over the summer. The views are great from the top floor. They staff is very helpful and kept every area super clean which made me feel safe. Please read the signs they are very explanatory on whether certain areas are prohibited to have cameras. Overall I recommend it for a great self care day make sure to get all your moneys worth. There's a free parking lot about a 4 min walk away. Their food is great as well but if you want to save money you are not far from the Asian market place Mitsuwa. read more

Horrible experience don't waste your money, over sold and crowded!!! We get there, BOOM 15$ valet .... Okay no parking lot weird ... then we get to the front and it's busy in the lobby I started to get worried because it wasn't looking to lux , especially for the 160$ day pass. So we go to the next line , and it's like TSA lollll they're opening every zipper and crevice. Ok cool do ur jobs queen I don't mind, but the vibes were ruined after that point for me and I was trying to bounce back the positive vibe but it was hard, the person searching was kind but the way it felt like I was going to get in trouble for some reason. Anyway next line, no shoe facility, okay makes sense , where are the slippers though? No slippers or slides or anything nope. Okay yes let's all get toe fungus walking around on the cheapest carpet option they could've ever found. Dressing room PACKED. over whelming af, and guess what.... This killed me, 5 stalls of bathrooms and hundreds of lockers. Dead serious, where's the logic? Who designed this place?? It's disgusting, smelled awful in the bathrooms, and obviously had to wait in a line. Anyway, I get changed and we go out to the different rooms. Okay 8 floors seems promising... nope. Every sauna full. Could barely get space to go into any , the like 7 available options for hundreds to share????? Bro I was aghast, even if you could find space in the sauna people are opening and closing the door coming in and out, opening it to look for space , letting cold air rush in so I literally wasn't able to break a sweat. I swear y'all that "charcoal sauna room" not a single piece of. Charcoal in there. That was wood painted black I stg I was touching it and looking at it like wth is this? The Cold room was just a walk in fridge. Yep. Sad. After not being able to find room in the saunas we went to the infinity pool with the most stunning view of construction!!!!! And a roadway so gorgeous, loll Totally ridiculous , the pics couldn't even turn out nice. THENNNN. Some couples were in the pool hugging eachother and holding eachother awhhh cute whatever not bothering anyone duh. They get chastised???? That's strange and weird. When I spoke with the spa, they apologized and asked me if I wanted to adjust my tip (which they automatically add on top)! Awful customer service! Overpriced and over rated! I've been so SoJo Spa three times so far, and every family member and friend I've brought has thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed SoJo. It doesn't get old! The price is a bit steep, but no steeper than alternatives in NY, and it's well worth the money with all the sauna and pool options. There are multiple outdoor pools, about 6 or so, varying from carbon rich pool to jets to infinity pool. There are multiple indoor pools, including a cold plunge pool that I really enjoy. Lots and lots of saunas too. Surprisingly, the food hall is also very delicious, I happily eat in the food hall on days I'm here. It's not a boring burgers & fries place, they have salads, noodle bowls, pizzas, sandwiches. The pizzas are made in a wood fired oven, soo crispy and good. The tonkotsu ramen is also delicious. I had a mahi mahi sandwich recently that was only meh, but that's the only item so far that wasn't super delicious. Get the vanilla-clementine twist soft serve!!! SO GOOD. Plan to spend at least 6 hours here, it's a whole day affair, in a good way! Pro tip, also bring a water bottle (not glass, they don't let glass bottles in) and a face mask so you can pamper your face after all your pores opening up haha. Otherwise you can buy one onsite for $4. Free parking lot just half a block down. They also offer valet, but that's not complimentary. Lastly, I recommend buying your tickets online way ahead of time, because weekends and holidays tend to sell out quickly or will only have later entrance time slots (like 4pm onwards). read more

Amazing and a great treat for yourself or anyone you bring here! Highly recommend coming here on a weekday morning as there are so much less people and it definitely gets quite crowded. I got the classic massage as a splurge and it was a great experience, though the masseuse did try to push me to buy the hair mask at the end. I didn't get daily admission but the treatment comes with 2 hours after that you can hang around which was plenty for me as it got so crowded after. I came from Manhattan but it was an easy bus ride there and back and the stop is a short walk away. Highly recommend this for a self care day! read more

Before going, I had heard and read good reviews on SoJo Spa, but I was still skeptical and worried it would just be multiple regular saunas and pools. However, it turned out incredibly worth it! The first and main thing you'll notice is the incredible amount of outdoor space there is, with stunning panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. Within that open space, there is an extensive selection of pools. There's the infinity pool, hydrotherapy pool, hinoki bath, silk bath, carbon-rich bath, foot massage path, and a cold plunge waterfall! Aside from the waterfall, all the other pools are heated. As for the indoor saunas, there's a Himalayan salt sauna, charcoal sauna, red clay sauna, white clay sauna, ganbanyoku sauna, and an ice room. My favorite was the hydrotherapy pool, located on the 4th floor, where they shoot water jets/streams to target and massage different parts of your body. There's sections on one side of the pool that massage the bottom of your feet; another your legs, back, and even one where you lay down and get hydro massaged throughout your whole body. Prices here range based on the day, from $100 to $140. The cheapest admission tickets are Tues to Thurs, while the most expensive are on weekends. Honestly, despite how expensive SoJo was, it was a delightful and relaxing 'treat yo' self' experience that was well-worth it even without any of the extra treatments and services. read more

I'd heard about Sojo for years now and friends had raved about it so I was excited to check it out. Finally scheduled a girls spa date and came by a couple weekends ago. Transportation: They used to have a free bus that picked up from Penn Station area though as of this year that's no longer the case. Coming from NYC aside from driving the most direct route is via bus 158 from Port Authority $10.60 round trip. Admission: Varies depending on the day starting at $110 Mon-Thurs, $135 Fridays, $145 in advance $150 day of Sat-Sun. This includes access to locker rooms, saunas, lounge rooms, and pools. This does not include the cost of any treatments like their Korean body scrub, halotherapy, volcanic sand body mask, or massages. Treatments start at $20 for 45 minutes of halotherapy which is essentially breathing in minuscule salt particles to $250+ for massages. Similar to spas in Asia you get a wristband that serves as locker key and payment swipe that gets added to your balance for payment when checking out. Layout: 7.5 floors of which the top 4.5 are spa facilities. 1st fl has check in and shoe lockers; admin facilities make up floors 2-3. 4th fl has changing rooms w/lockers, baths, merch stand, saunas, ganbanyoku (heated stone beds). 5th fl spa services, therapy rooms, more saunas, quiet lounge, access to hotel rooms. 6th fl volcanic sand bath, food hall. 7th and 8th fl have outdoor seating for dining, outdoor infinity pool, fitness center, yoga room, coworking space and outdoor lounge areas. Stairs and elevators available. Experience: Shared spaces: Overall very clean and staff constantly working to keep clean. This makes a difference esp since all customers are barefoot. Pools: we started outside at around 11am-- waded thru the foot reflexology pool which was warm with smoothed rocks inset into the pool floor to stimulate pressure points that correspond to various body parts. Second we sat in the hydrotherapy pool that had seats with water jets to target back and feet. We made our way to the silk pools, and other two outdoor pools on the 6th floor. The infinity pool has a decent view of the city skyline tho also of the construction ongoing nearby. They maintain beautiful gardens outside by the pools, which means some of the natural elements (leaves, petals, bugs) fall into the water, I did see the pools being periodically evacuated to clean. The other pools seemed ok though just generally overcrowded so it wasn't as relaxing as I would've liked. Saunas and ganbanyoku: nice to enjoy for short period, and great that they have phone lockers and water stations placed outside each area with heated rooms. There are several different saunas to choose from though on a weekend again very crowded, I didn't go into a couple saunas bc there was no space. I did enjoy the lounging areas with heated stone beds, kinda hard to get comfortable at first but good for a short nap. Treatments: I didn't get a massage, but the spa lobby looked nice, if you book a treatment of $250 or more you get a discount on admission. My friends did the volcanic sand bath and they said it was very hot and borderline claustrophobic, which makes sense since they cover your entire body aside from your head with very warm sand for 20 min. The halotherapy didn't do anything for me though I took a nice nap on the cushioned lounge chair In the therapy room. Staff: everyone I interacted with was friendly, courteous and helpful, they made this a touch above 4 star instead of 3.5. Food: pretty good food here! Sad to learn they no longer serve the range of Korean food options they used to, the menu is geared towards more generic American tastes now, though the tonkatsu ramen $20 I got was decent with a fair amount of veggies and a good serving size. My friend enjoyed her pan seared teriyaki salmon $25 too. Soft serve $4 was a nice touch though the orange flavor was very artificial (I asked the staff what the ingredients were in case of allergies), I still ate it. After spending most of a day there, for the price, I'm not running back soon bc of the crowds, though might suggest checking it out on a weekday. read more

FOOD 4/5 Not as good as we had last time but still pretty good! * Margherita Pizza was very melty towards the center and made it really hard to eat. Flavors were great. * Salmon in the salmon teriyaki bowl was fresh. * Mahi Mahi sandwich was not as good as I had it last time... Bread was soggy. * Cookies [not pictured] were pretty good, my boyfriend bought two more haha. ADD-ON SERVICES 4.5/5 * Volcanic sand was a pretty cool experience, like a warm heated blanket.
