While visiting my parents during the Christmas break, I took the opportunity to please my belly. So that's why we ended up at Valentine. By the way "Poutine" has nothing to do with the Russian President! For those who have no clue of what I'm talking about, a Poutine is made of fries topped with salty pieces of cheese and it's covered with a gravy sauce. It's obviously fast food or let's say comfort food. That's the thing you eat after a drinking evening and it's great! This Valentine take away counter do make a good Poutine. They do have table if you want to eat there, it's not a problem. The service was fast and friendly. The fries and the cheese were fresh as well. For those who wouldn't have the balls to try the Poutine, they also offer smoked meat sandwishes, hot dogs, potato chips and fries, If you feel adventurous, you can try one of the non.traditional Poutine. Poutine with chicken pieces, Poutine covered with a kind of spaghetti sauce or a Poutine with BBQ sauce instead of the original gravy sauce. This Valentine is located in a rest area along the highway 10 near exit 115 (Magog). It's easy to access, there is loads of parking even for trucks or campers. In the same building there is a convenience store, a Touristic info point and other restaurants. There is even a gas station next to it. So in short it's a place to stop and rest if you are on the road.

We arrived around 11:45 am and just in time because by noon the line was out the door. I really enjoyed the poutine and hotdogs. I loved the gravy on the poutine, it was the right consistency and full of flavor. Cheese curds were fresh and made the squishy sound against my teeth and the fries were just soft enough without being soggy. Solid poutine! I also loved their hotdogs! Their all dressed hotdogs had a chunky mustard onion topping, which I really liked. Buns were buttery and toasted rather than steamed. I only ordered one but should have ordered three, they were great. Overall I really loved the vibe in this place, food came quickly and there were lots of places to sit. I did find the portions to be a bit small though. I wouldn't drive to Granby just for this place but if you are heading to the Eastern Townships or are in the area, it's worth stopping by!

The sauce was bland, cheese curds were good and fries were good. All together you get a mediocre poutine. The bacon on mine was undercooked so it was just layers of fat, the minced meat was not seasoned well and was pretty bland. The guédille was not good, lots of ketchup, coleslaw and a few fries. Go to La Fromagerie in Bromont. 100x better.

It was the busiest place in town for a Sunday night. The burger was cooked exactly as requested. It didn't come with fries so I ordered the barbecue chips and dip. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. From the moment we sat down, the attitude from behind the bar set the tone in the worst way. The older woman tending bar was openly dismissive, rolled her eyes at simple questions about the menu, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her every time we ordered a drink or asked for something basic like water or silverware. No greeting, no smile, and zero effort to be even minimally polite. At one point she dropped drinks in front of us without a word and walked away before we could even ask for what was missing. It's a shame, because the kitchen clearly cares, but the experience at the bar completely overshadowed how good the food was. If ownership ever addresses the front-of-house attitude, this could be a fantastic place, but until then, be prepared for excellent plates paired with some truly miserable service.

You know the one, it bursts with freshnesh and flavour with its blend of tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, and kalamata olives. We opted for the Gyro pita which was pretty good. The meat wasn't cooked on the spit but likely slapped on a hotplate or heated in the microwave. So, okay... we are a million miles from Greece and not much closer to a thriving Greek community so we accepted packaged gyro meat to be our fate. The traditional greek salad was fresh but the lack of greek olives in the salad was more disappointing than the gyro meat situation. That said, for the area this is a brilliant addition to the restaurant scene and I look forward to trying their souvlaki and their calamari. FYI, for allergy reasons the calamari are fried in oil that is not shared with other foods. Because of this it will take a bit longer to heat the oil for this special order which, I am told, is worth the wait. The owner and staff are the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

The service is great and super friendly, English and French not one of those Quebec proud places where they stare at you for speaking English. I spoke French but to my friends in English of course. My poutine was a medium it had chicken green peas and dark gravy. I really enjoyed the fries the cheese was super squeaky and gravy was great. It was my first time having this style poutine it was super filling so if you're going to tackle this alone go for a mini... ( it's about the size of 2 small circle white cups ) from normal poutine spots. Hot dog with smoked meat was lacking texture and wasn't as good as the coleslaw one. Was a good find and I would stop back off here.
