This was our 1st time here and I was disappointed. Staff are very friendly and helpful so that's a plus. Drinks and beers are good too and prices not to bad for those. Only negative is that they don't have a paper menu to look at only online and above the register. On this visit we chose to get the 8pc chicken and logs well done. We absolutely loved this. It was full of flavor and the logs were huge. Definitely getting this again. Now on to the pizza. The pizza from another table smelled really good so we were excited to try this. We couldn't eat it. The dough was not good and had no flavor. I was so disappointed because I was hoping that this was going to be great. Some of the veggies seemed to have an odor or looked discolored. I will never get this pizza again. I do want to try others as they sell by the slice. The salads looked really good and are huge. They are located in a shopping center, some deep potholes by the Sonics. Be careful! But the store itself is a great location, tons of tables and seating. When I walked in the cashier immediately welcomed me and helped me. I called in my order so only waited for them to bring it out. We have ordered their pizzas, calzones and pastas, which have been all good. We ordered their GIANT pizza twice already and it's enough for a party with leftovers. When they say giant the mean giant! I'm a pizza aficionado, been making pizza since the 90s and worked for Rusty's as a pizza maker back in the day. How have I not heard about Cataldos, born and raised here?! My bf said this place is a hit or miss. I tried it once so far and it was the best garlic knots Ive ever had and the pizza was darn good. I moved to Burbank in 2018 and tried pizzas all over LA. Central Park Pizza was the first I had here and were ok, not great. MidiCi in Sherman Oaks was pretty good but expensive. I tried Slice House - never going back. Reno's smells better than it is (so greasy too). Chains like Little Ceasars, Domicos, Pap Johns, Johns Incredible Pizza, Blaze, CA Pizza Kitchen, Fresh Brothers, Pizza Hut etc - disgusting, even Round Table and Shakey's is better than these. Marcos Pizza, Mountain Mike's and Me N' Eds trumps the bad ones too. BOSS Pizza in Bakersfield was absolutely the #1 Pizza for me until they suddenly closed down in 2018/2019, having been in business only a couple years. Frugattis - no. Flames Pizza and Bakersfield Pizza Co - no flavor. I grew up in Bakersfield and PizzaVille was absolutely #1 for so many years but it's just not the same. Rusty's is still da bomb. Woodstone Pizzeria - eh. Pieology USED to be good. Numero Uno used to be great in the 80s/90s. Lucifers - nope. PitFire - gross every time. Tried What Up Dough - absolutely not. People say Prime Pizza is good but I'll tell you this: during the Plandemic, a Prime Door Dash driver accidentally delivered someone else's HUGE pizza to MY place. It looked soooo gross and unappealing that I threw it away!! MOD Pizza in North Hollywood - honestly super good. Tried Nova Cafe and Pizza Pazza in Burbank - yes, pretty good. But I'm in love with BAKED - the absolute BEST pizza in Burbank. I've tried sooo many all over LA that I only remember L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, very fancy and expensive but delish! I enjoyed 800° Woodfired Kitchen in Hollywood once. Mr. Moto in SD - hit or miss, mostly miss. LBK Pizzeria in Studio City - delish. But recently? I loved Cataldos in Bakersfield - delish - best garlic knots! Rosa's pizza used to be the best there in the 80's/90's and their sister company Sorella's is a hit or miss. So take it from me who has tried so many more places than I can remember. read more

The slices of pizza are huge. The Raviolois and bread are delicious! The manager is very kind. Big open room with lots of connected tables. Separated room with 3 booths, multiple vending machines, and a crane claw machine in. The place looked very clean. Awesome place to have a quick lunch or dinner with friends and family! read more

The food here comes out pretty quick, even when the dining area is busy. They put a lot of fresh toppings on the pizza and everything is fresh. The staff are kind and helpful. As far as the ambiance goes, it is pretty cool, several big T Vs playing sports, several family groups enjoying food and drinks. read more

Dinner tonight with friends, a big piZia, salad and potato logs that looked like fries. All was fresh and hot. Very good. when I asked for something to take the leftovers home they acted as though I was asking for way too much?? Kinda strange. Was I suppose to take my own containers for left overs? We have been coming here for years. They have the BEST Cheese Ravioli. Those that need Gluten free, they have a wonderful Cauliflower crust pizza (with whatever toppings you like) that is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend trying these guys. read more

When you walk in Cataldo's you get that feeling of an old school pizza place with the long tables and checkered table cloths. The pizza is pretty good too. They have a great lunch special with a giant slice and you can add on a small salad as well. They make New York style pizza, and we always order the plain cheese. I like it the wife likes it and the kids like it, but the best item in my opinion are the potato logs. They are so good! I would go there just for those. Service is always quick and friendly. I would recommend if you like New York style pizza. read more

Cataldos is a fine example of ownership neglect and hard times. It wasn't long when you could make an argument that cataldos pizza and antipasto salad was the best in town. Those times have passed. They no longer take the time to even chop the lettuce for salads. Tomatoes are thrown in chunks. Lazy work being done by employees with no management than cares. The ranch is watered down and in small containers. We had to buy more for the family salad. Because they give an impossible amount to do anything with. The cheese is a quarter of what they used to give the meat portions halved. As a matter of fact the container that holds the salad is smaller. You can get incredible pizza one day and not so good the next. The spaghetti taste like kern schools, not in a good way. Cataldos shows every indication that ownership is in a bind financially. That's ok, times are hard. But the lack of detail with the food is something I can't excuse. read more

Found this pizzeria last week and was pleasantly surprised to have a great tasting, sweet lunch deal close to the office. Pizza is not oily, dough made fresh daily, same with pizza sauce. Really good tasting pizza. Slice is more than enough to fill you up. The salad is fresh, high quality with romaine lettuce, no iceberg. Also comes with red onions, olives, tomatoes and more. This place always nails it. Never had a bad experience there. The pizzas were just right. Not too saucy, crust had great balance between crispy outside and chewy inside. Wings were a little overcooked but that seems to be the way it Bakersfield lately. read more

For B-town, it is about as good as it gets. For most places, even Frazier Park/PMC, there is better. The sauce has some flavor, there is enough cheese, and the crust is a bit thin but not at all crisp. It has become the family go to place because we all agree we can eat it. But it is second favorite on most everyone's list. The C salad and dressing is yummy and a value. The wings are a bit puny with the standard sauce. Nothing to see, but will work for a craving. I love Cataldo's Pizza!!! Pizza is always yummy and never disappoints. I have been to this particular location several times now and it is the closest to my workplace. Lunch time gets pretty busy at times; however, it is very much worth it since a giant pizza slice is only $5 and you don't have to settle for just pepperoni and cheese pizza slices, you can choose from their other specialty slices for the same price. Chicken wings here are just okay for me, I would have to rate them 3.5 stars. I have tried both the buffalo and the garlic parmesean flavors and they were okay for me. I like my chicken wings on the crispier side, the buffalo wings are better than the garlic parmesean wings as I felt it was not as flavorful as I had hoped, but still not a bad wing. The potato logs, in my opinion, are one of the best potatoes at a pizza place here in Bakersfield. If you haven't had a chance to check the potato logs out then you are definitely missing out. They are deep fried in some kind of batter and the ranch served with the potato goes perfect together. read more

Still waiting on a call back from some severe food poisoning I got last week. Being pregnant with food poisoning is not cool, it was almost to the point of me having to go to urgent care for fluids from being so severely dehydrated. Cataldos Pizzeria on Allen Road is the best pizzeria on the west side. The food is always great and the service is top shelf. As well as, beverages and beer selection and specialty are great. I really enjoy watching football and basketball games there and it's one of my favorite spots to stop by before closing my day. The ambience and vibe is always chill! So glad they opened a cataldo's so close to me. Before they moved in the only pizza delivery i could get was pizza hut. The pizzas are great and so are the sides and salads. the fried mozzarella is only 5.99 and you get 10 huge sticks. The 30" pizza is always fun for parties. I love their pizzas because the sauce is good and the crust is not as over whelming as a lot if pizza places. The inside is the nicest of all the Caltaldo's in town with a bunch of tvs, patio seating, and nicely decorated(i might actually eat in some time) The employees were way beyond the niceness i would expect. the young guy at the counter explained all kinds of stuff to me about menu special to ordering online, smiling the whole time. Awesome pizza! Love their ingredients, their dough is wonderful- I am a fan! A regular sized order of wedges will feed 10- they are giant! Skip the garlic cheesy bread- it gets two stars. It was basically a soft white loaf of bread with some sort of white cheese microwaved and partially melted. I don't recommend wasting your money- my dog liked it though, he's not picky. A friend of mine loves their calzones, and we like ordering the big pizza for parties, it's well cooked and not the least but doughy.
