I'm from Northern California, where Me-N-Eds originated and so I'm used to coming here for great food. I love this location in particular because the staff are always great, and it's the closest to my house. When I find myself in the City in the Hills, I'm probably going to grab pizza! The restaurant itself is a bit small, so it's not ideal for groups, but great for takeout.

I love it!!! The spot is cute and looks pretty darn clean! The youngins are hard working, and learning new skills. Which as as a teacher I can totally appreciate a business that gives them an opportunity! The pizza is very cheese with lots of topping and it's very tasty. Next time I will definitely get the wings they looked chunky and dripping with sauce. Yum!

Food was good service was good, with only two men working the cashier and making the pizzas. I'm still trying to get used to inflation so the meal for 2 was pretty pricey. it's a new restaurant so everything's clean and modern great way in the east side where we need more restaurants.

While this was a bit of a wait, it is due to the fact that they are brand spanking new! The staff were super kind, friendly, and very attentive. The pizza was fantastic and the price wasn't too bad either! So glad this pizza place was put in! Definitely recommend.

We loved it so much, not only did we dine there, we ordered a bunch of food to go and drove it home to heat up and eat the next day. The next day food was just as great as when we ate there. It just has wonderful dishes. Founder by Nick Uricchio, and his son Steve they opened Uricchio's Trattoria, clearly a family affair. Sadly, Nick died some time ago. He was the nicest guy and always had a smile on his face. His nick name was Papa Nick. He always said hello to the customers and was just a doll. Go in his honor. It is just as great as when Nick was there. Steve is usually there to greet you and he is wonderful. Uricchio's Trattoria offers a great selection of appetizers, soups (a must) and entrees to satisfy anyone. They have fresh seasonal dishes prepared with care from Executive Chef Raphael Hernandez who has been there forever I think. Parking is easy. Make a reservation, you want to do that. It gets crowded. We have been there without one before and loved sitting at the bar and eating. Anything with shrimp is great. All of their pastas are great. We loved their spaghetti and meat balls. Their vegetables are made right. They don't consider it something just to toss on your plate. They are al dente and so great. Their Linguini pasta with shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels in a tomato basil marinara sauce is my favorite and they have the best salads and desserts. It is a must stop in Bakersfield. The place is beautiful.

Seated for dinner with 90 minutes to spare before our show. Waited an hour for our food because they were understaffed. The food was spectacular, and our waitress (Micah) worked so hard for us. We were really pushed, but the manager (Clair) took such good care of us. Food arrived 5 minutes before we had to leave, but it was so tasty! Leftovers were better the next day. I give it 5 stars because of the overall experience. Great cocktails, great service, spectacular food. Definitely will go back again and again.

I know, to many locals this is probably unimaginable for someone who has called Bakersfield home for almost 20 years, and let me say.. I get it. I now understand the hype. From the delicious food to the way they make you feel like family with their impeccable yet personable service, it is no surprise this over 115 year old local family business has won over the hearts and minds of Bakersfield and those who visit. Our warm welcome: We didn't check the hours beforehand, and showed up at 2:30, which is their closing time, like complete chumps. Never the less, every person in both the deli and restaurant insisted for us to come in and eat. The owner, Gino, was one of the many friendly faces who greeted us and ensured us it was no problem. This was very kind. I don't like showing up within the last hour before a restaurant closes, let alone the literal time they close. The kindness and welcoming approach in which everyone insisted we stayed, made me know they truly wanted us to have the chance to enjoy an amazing lunch with them, and amazing would be an understatement. The service was down right impressive. Our server, Chris, was incredibly friendly and attentive. Arguably the best service in town. Now let's get to the delicious food: Everything we ordered was top notch, but the truffle sachetti "pasta purse" completely stole the show. They are now a forever must as a shared appetizer or main dish. Though I do very much look forward to jumping around the menu and coming in during their daily and seasonal/popup specials I've seen on their social media. The phenomenal ambiance: The atmosphere is something out of a Billy Joel song, a compliment I am sure I am not the first to give. The inside is decked out wall to wall with old family photos and Bakersfield memorabilia. As it was a nice day, we sat outside in their beautiful shaded area with a very nice outdoor bar I wouldn't mind coming back to pay a proper visit. Needless to say, while this was my first visit, it won't be my last. I look forward to the taste of the truffle sachetti and the warm, welcoming atmosphere Luigi's provides.

Luigi's is crowded. Parking kinda sucks. The neighborhood ain't great. The food is awesome…read more Luigi's is a family-owned Bako institution. Service here is quick and attentive. Why? The lunch rush is pretty much their hours of business, start to finish. Although there's lots of seating, both interior and a party-atmosphered patio, the wait can be lengthy. Speaking of "lengthy", expect to spend a couple of hours here, including the wait for a table, eating your meal, and spending time in their shop. The food is hearty and delicious. A "small" personal antipasto plate shows up at your table shortly after you sit. There are so many delicious-sounding things on their menu it's hard to choose what to order (I had one of the best tasting steaks I ever had here) They serve dishes I've only seen here, like the Sacco beans (which are also sold in their shop) What I can see after eating here a few times is that they offer a marriage of old school Italian-American with local Basque influences and personal family touches. Luigi's is strictly a daytime lunch affair. They are opened Tuesday through Saturday, but only from 10:30AM to 2:30PM. That's it. There is no dinner service. The area -- Old Town Kern -- can be-- okay, IS -- sketchy, even in the daytime. There is plenty of parking; lots are scattered in the restaurants vicinity, but Luigi's is so popular and they're only opened for lunch so you get a full days number of customers in the span of 4 hours. That said, a trip to Bakersfield practically demands a visit to Luigi's. IYKYK and if you know you'll go.

The menu has many options; I decided on the gnocchi. After some delicious, pillowy-soft bread and a lackluster salad, my dish arrived. The potato dumpling pasta was perfectly made and the meat sauce was very tasty. I usually fill up quickly with pasta and this was no exception.
