If I had an option for a negative rating, I would! My 89 year old father and 77 year old mother have been buying produce from this location for over 5 years. Watermelon purchased 2 days ago was spongy and disgusting in terms of flavor & texture. They returned the watermelon for an exchange, without a problem. (Thank you!) The exchange that they received looked beautiful, but it was, again, of POOR quality...As they are elderly, they can not continue to return to the store to replace poor product. I like that I can find exotic fruit and vegetables that aren't in my neighborhood Kroger. The options change with the season. I'm also happy they carry Sukary dates. They have a better taste (to me) than Medjool dates. I can eat they plain or add them to a smoothie. They're also delicious when chopped and added to salads. The prices are fair and they have an abundance of whatever is in stock. Recently, I've noticed that they put ice on some of their produce. I suppose that helps keep it fresh longer. One improvement I'd like to see is fewer gnats and removing produce that's obviously over ripe. Checking out is relatively quick. I like going early, before the crowd. read more

I've been shopping here for 20+ years. I realize it is not first quality produce, but it is very affordable. On 8-16-25 I purchased two heads of romaine lettuce that had a binding wire that said "organic". That night, I made a salad with the lettuce and other items had used in prior salads. Within 1/2 hour of eating my salad, I was in the bathroom violently vomiting. Shortly after that, I had a sever case of diarrhea. For the next couple hours, both persisted. On 8-17-25 I went back to Randazzo's to inform them that they may have gotten a "bad" batch of lettuce and they might want o consider not buying from that supplier again. I went to the back of the store and found the owner and explained my situation. His response: "I haven't had any other complaints". I explained I had just bought it the day before and I was surprised that something marked organic could cause such a reaction. He stated, "It's not organic, it's a Michigan grown product". OK, what does that have to do with it possibly being contaminated? My objective just to warn him of a possible problem. I wasn't there to ask for a refund or an exchange(and that didn't happen). I wasn't happy with him blowing me off when all I wanted to do was extend a courtesy. read more

I didn't realize that I last reviewed Randazzo's three years ago. That review could have been from three weeks ago, three months ago, or three decades ago, and I'm sure it would've been basically the same. COVID broke the world, but it did not break Randazzo's. The only real difference now is additional safety precautions. They have the floor markers to show a 6 foot distance, and everybody wears masks, but everything else is unchanged. This is still absolutely the best place to go for fresh produce. If business was hurt by the pandemic, you couldn't tell that from any of the times I've been in here over the last year. There is still an amazing variety of high-quality produce for fantastic prices. You can still get Chinese eggplant, galangal, and other things you will never see at Kroger. And, I got grape tomatoes for a dollar; I figured I might as well buy three of them at that price. The cheapest price I've seen anywhere else is about two dollars. You might see brussels sprouts that are slightly different sizes in the bulk bin; so many places take pains to keep things a uniform size. But, nature didn't grow them all a uniform size, so why should you pay extra to have them that way? In three years, when I look at this review, I have a feeling things will still be basically the same. That's what I love about Randazzo 's. read more

I always get a huge basket full of groceries for unbelievably low prices! If you can get there, do it!! Your family can eat healthier on a small budget. Take care of prepping the produce as you bring them in to keep the wasted food down. I wish they had one closer to Riverview, MI but still try and get to Westland as often as we can. The stock people are super nice, helpful and will stop what they are doing to guide u to finding whatever you're looking for. I love this place. They always have the cheapest produce. The store is clean and the staff is so friendly! I took my boyfriend there for the first time last month and he was like a kid in a candy store! They even have fresh Tamarin for making pad thai from scratch. Because the prices are so cheap I will do a run to Randazzo's for my family who live in Port Huron!!!! I love this place! You can fine some really good deals or you can get burnt on some really good deals. Not all Randazzo's are the same. I get it, pricing is set to the area. I use to love going to the one on outer drive but also like my catalytic converter even more (they stole it while I was in there shopping). Macomb Twp. one is the nicest but you'll also pay way more as compared to the other locations. So when in Roseville if you're gonna stop here to shop just touch the produce and look at it carefully. Don't expect customer service because it's subpar at best. read more

Came here fruits and veggies and this is just the plave to get all things fruits and all things veggies. They have all the fruits and veggies you could ask for and more. I was surprised they have asian fruits and veggies that I thought only the asian stores had. I haven't been here since I was a child but I'm glad I did. Check fruit in containers thouroughly. The strawberries and blueberries were not in good shape. The cashier was very nice and fast. Got us checked out super fast. read more

I have been here many times in the past - you can get so much for such an awesome price. The store has open, self-store bins. However, I went there on 10.04.20 for the first time since Covid. I was very disappointed with the store's response to Covid. I was hoping to see "sneeze guards", etc. It seems there were no precautions taken. There were no "sneeze guards," everyone was handling the same tongs without sanitizing, and staff not wearing masks or not wearing them properly. I was highly disappointed. Well, this location on Gratiot is as old as the neighborhood in Roseville near martin rd. It is a busy fruit market for customers of all nationalities that I could see when shopping there for a few items with my Mother. The store is old, rundown but stocked with many types of fruits and vegetables along with dairy refrigerated products to grab and go. NO DELI SO NO LUNCHMEAT, NO SEAFOOD OR BAKERY like the location on Hayes at 22 mile. I noticed many varieties of odd veggies and fruits for ethnic shoppers. They also sell loose and bagged apples, oranges potatoes and bagged salad mixes. Their Dairy products are all one needs, milk, cheese, eggs, sour cream, cottage cheese, even apple cider made in Michigan products. When we were shopping throughout this market, I noticed quite a few hard working employees smiling and enjoying their jobs by saying Hello or asking to help us. It's not a fancy business like Nino's but the local and regular customers that shop here are pleased and happy to walk in and find all they need to make their daily or favorite foods or meals. Prices are very reasonable, low or in budget. Bananas were from Costa Rica which to me looked pale. On this day of shopping Friday they only had 1 area of tomatoes which were pink and tough looking so we passed on them. No stickers on them anyways so hot house ?? My mom was very happy to buy a 10 lb bag of white Michigan potatoes in that paperish type bag that she always looks forward to since she makes mashed potatoes and potato soup a lot 10 lb for $2.99. She was happy. Gallon of milk was 2.79 high price? I'm not sure but did this location have a fire and they remodeled a few years back? Didn't look to remodel to me it just look like a farmer's market either in Royal Oak or Mount Clemens. The check out girls were very happy, pleasant. They did a fast job in checking us out and packing. My final review= 3 is stars. read more

One of my favorite places to go for a wide variety of fresh and cheap produce. I drive 30 minutes to come here because I love it so much. HOWEVER, I came today for my 2nd time during the pandemic and I watched a manager teach a new employee and talk to customers without a mask on. Almost all employees had their mask below their nose or mouth. Customers were also doing this and not being instructed otherwise. It was discouraging to see the lack of awareness for others health. I love this place, but I'm hesitant to come back until changes are made. read more

This is not a gourmet market. You might have to pick through over due bananas or pears to get the ones you want for home. However- this place has the lowest priced fruits and vegetables. It has a huge variety of the week of seasonal greens, berries, and all kind of yummy fruits. It even has Asian veggies like bitter Mellon, pea pod stems, bean sprouts, thai chillies, etc. They do have a small section of local breads/other stuff- but i usually only get the produce. I have never spent more than 20/30 dollars here. You can even buy plants here btw! All and all, don't expect something fancy. This place is seriously an amazing gem. The parking is crazy on the weekend- so I recommend going through the back way. read more

I must say, though, I do feel like any fruits and/or vegetables that I buy from here seem to spoil faster than if I buy them from other produce sellers. This is by far the best place to shop for fruits and veggies on the east side. The thing I like most about the place right off the bat is that unlike Nino Salvaggio's, Randazzo's seems to give preference to Michigan grown produce. Now, though this isn't much different than a farmer's market, there are some goodies that you just wouldn't run across too often at farmer's market - Michigan harvested maple syrup, for example! They have a wonderful selection of fruits, veggies, nuts, and spices. Though they don't advertise themselves as such, they're akin to the "international" style of fruit and veg market. Prices are good but the quality is pretty bad. I was there yesterday and bought some various things. The raspberries I bought were mostly moldy once you got past the top layer in the container. The grapes were quite moldy. The green peppers were 3/$1, but about 1/2 the size of the ones at the grocery store. The manager is frequently yelling or harshly directing staff to the point that I'm sure they hate working for him. I'd rather pay a bit more for better quality. If selling moldy fruit is the standard by which Randazzos operates, I will be going to a different fruit market without the Randazzo's name and maybe pay a bit more- but I'll actually get to eat what I purchase without getting sick. The health department should check this place out. P.S. you have to REALLY like bananas if you buy them from here.. they are already well ripened and you probably have to eat them all today or tomorrow before they're completely brown. Moral of the story: pay a bit more to go to Vince & Joes or anywhere but Randazzos and then you don't have to throw away half to 1/3 of what you buy. read more

I went to this store on Thanksgiving 2019 & was thrilled over the low prices. I purchased green apples to make apple cobbler, but decided not to make it at the last moment. It is now January 2020 & those same apples are sitting on my table in PERFECT condition. Just like McDonalds food. Just understand what this place is, and is not. It's not the place to go if you're looking for decorative low-voltage lighting beaming down at the freshly polished fruits and vegetables. It is the place to go if you want to buy those same fruits and vegetables, unpolished and stacked high for up to 75% less than other fruit markets and supermarkets. It's not the place to go if you enjoy shopping in an aesthetically pleasing, quiet environment. It is the place to shop if you can handle the crowds... It's always busy, many other shoppers are sometimes rude, and half of them don't speak english or never heard the word excuse me. Again, the price you pay for saving a lot of money. I love this place. Restaurants love this place (I've seen them in here). They can't be counted on to have that ONE thing you might be looking for (they were out of broccoli last time I went). But, it's a cook's dream... Be creative, you'll just have to make something else that night. They have too-good-to-be true specials... Be warned, however, when those blueberries are .25 a box, you better eat them quick, there's a reason they're THAT low. All Joe Randazzo's are amazing. They're the best spot for cheap, fresh produce. I'm embarassed to say that I kind of stopped going to Eastern Market once my husband and I discovered Joe Randazzo's. So many times I've filled my trunk to capacity on a mere $20 in produce. This place is not to be confused with "Randazzo's" - which is the same family, but different owners. Joe Randazzo's is simply produce and it's very economical, the other includes a deli and butcher shop, and the prices are higher. read more

It is a little bit like heaven. There are people from all different backgrounds gliding up and down isles of glorious, cheap produce. These fruits and veggies are fresh, bountiful, and the staff does a good job of picking out spoiled/unsavory items. I was especially wowed by the vegetables. The grape tomatoes. The portobellas. The peppers. The eggplants. Lordy. They also have some eggs, dairy, nuts, bulk foods, etc. The fruit was also impressive, though it was not as flawless as the vegetables, and Nino's fruit is definitely a step up. Check out was a little slow, especially since it is so crowded all of the time, but looking at the receipt - $26 for an obscene amount of produce - made me smile really big. read more

They only reason I'm giving this one of the many locations on there 3 stars is because they really need to update the inside and make it look like the other amazing randazoos around this area. They fruit is priced like you would see in a krogers or a Walmarts but higher quality. I've been going to the one on 16 mile now a lot more because of how much more they offer than this location. There's no need for a 1-star review. This place has been around for quite a long time and the name isn't trying to fool anyone. I've been to the "awesome, nice, clean Randazzo's" before, but this place has them beat as far as raw ingredients goes. I've never questioned the quality of the food there once. This place is hands down the cheapest place to get your fruits and veggies in the Metro Detroit area outside of Eastern Market. The selection isn't the best if you're looking for different varieties of something other than fruit, but there are a few "ethnic" options and occasionally some tropical delights like lychee and jackfruit. The place does get crowded and it can be hard to find a parking spot sometimes, but that's because people know that it's the place to go. Also, you may want to wear a jacket in there as they keep the place a bit cool, which is a good thing for the produce. You won't find meat here at all as far as I know, and they don't have a bakery. If you're in the market for some trees or flowers when it's warm out, this place also has phenomenal prices on plants, much, much lower than anywhere else. I bought a fig tree there a few years ago that I still have, although I wouldn't recommend planting a fig in Michigan unless you can bring it in during the winter, as our summer's aren't long enough for them to flourish. In all, be prepared for a crowd. I recommend taking the residential street just after the entrance and pull into the parking lot from there. The place isn't fancy for sure, but I don't need fancy if I'm saving a considerable amount of money. You can leave this place with $20 worth of produce that you'd easily spend $60 or more at a standard grocery store. read more

Have been coming to this location over 5yrs, driving over an hour one way. They apparently changed management and the person managing the registered is very disrespectful and always have a unpleasant appearance, not sure if he was trained in the skill of smiling. He's always watching customers as if they are stealing - who would steal at this low cost market. The issue that is discouraging happens last week when he yelled at a cashier for no apparent reason. Love this place. You can walk out of there with more veggies than you know what to do with for $25.00!! No, it's not fancy or arranged in beautiful piles...do you really need to pay for that? Super crowded which to me...gives it a European market feel. And when you see people buying some unknown veggie...ask them what they are going to do with it. One of the best places to get fresh produce and garden flowers during spring time... the prices are just reasonable and the staff are very accommodating whenever customers are inquiring or requesting during their visit to the marketplace. There are vegetables that wont be available and are seasonal... the prices change from time to time according to the Law of Supply and Demand... The parking lot is almost always full but there is sufficient parking spaces in the area. Wow, where to begin?! I feel like going full Stephan from SNL in saying "This place has everything" Tomato's, Potato's Durian, Plantain's and 10 different kinds of Mushrooms. There is so much produce inside there is barely enough room for humans, which seems counter-productive somehow. It was Saturday before Easter so I guess I had it coming. People everywhere.
