But what really made us go with Woody's was Will's extremely professional demeanor with every exchange, taking his time to explain every step and suggestion. We really got the feeling that he felt our time was more important than his. When he and his crew came they were no different and even after the job went almost 3 hours longer than expected (made sure the hedges they trimmed didn't look butchered), their clean up was immaculate. Since I first reviewed these guys over a year ago, we had them come back and remove two trees in the back yard. It took a while to find a date that they could come, but they ultimately came out and again did a proficient job. They also have looked after a stand of Green Giants we had them install as a screen at the back of the property; they said they would look after them if we had them install them, and they have done so. One other note: we spent a lot of money in Summer 2012 to have them prune, trim, cable, de-vine and otherwise tend the previously-untended forest on our property. When Sandy hit in October 2012, our neighbors had a lot of trees come down -- one went through our direct neighbor's roof. We didn't lose a single tree -- not one. The maintenance was a worthwhile investment. read more

Joe Douso the owner with 30 years of experience did a excellent job cutting down a 104 year old copper beech tree that had beech blight. It was a difficult job in that Joe and his crew had to remove some fencing and shrubbery and bring two trucks one crane and one bucket truck left to dismantle the tree. Joe and his crew finished in a day and a quarter completely putting the yard back to perfect condition including moving some shrubs around for us. Joe is very honest and is a certified arborist taking the time to explain exactly what was the demise of the tree and walking our yard pointing out issues with other trees caused by tree people that don't know how to maintain trees. Keep in mind a 60foot copper beech that's 104 years old can be an expensive job Joe was within the prices of other tree guys and was honest with the necessary dump fees. Long Island tree guys cannot sell their wood and have to pay for disposal. read more

Honest, and knowledgeable. This guy is busy. Probably because he is very good at what he does. Came and did the work as described. Even had to take off a couple of extra limbs that were cracked. Didn't charge anything extra. At the end of the day there was a very minor issue that he had to take care of. He said he would come back in 2 days to do it. He didn't ask to get paid for the work he performed or try to negotiate to get paid some of the money owed to him. Came back that very same day addressed the issue and got paid. That tells you he cares about his work just as much as getting paid. Very rare nowadays. read more

Will came to estimate for tree pruning. We had been told by other tree services to remove large limbs, or to lace the canopy. Will provided us a great deal of info. during our consultation, even if it meant no job for him. He recommended NOT pruning! Truly an amazing service:) read more
