I never like giving any reviews especially a negative one but this needs to said so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. I've been going to this practice for 20 years and never had any problems. The last 2 years here have been horrible. I had a routine eye exam last summer and after getting new glasses found out they gave me the wrong prescription. I found that out after I picked up my 2 new pairs of glasses and couldn't see out of them after spending a fortunate on them. I went back to the office a few days later and asked to speak to the office manager. They told me she was in a meeting and would be out to speak with me in a few minutes. After 45 minutes of waiting, I inquired about speaking with her and they told me so was too busy to talk to me and gave me a phone number to call another time. I tried to call her for 3 days and of course she was not available to speak with. They took my name and number and assured me she would call me back. No one ever called me back after leaving numerous messages. After my 4th message I finally spoke to someone, and they assured me someone would call me back. The office manager did eventually call back and was adamant that I did not receive the wrong prescription. She proceeded to tell me the prescription was correct explaining mathematical equations with this number plus this number equaled the numbers on the prescription. I asked her if she was an optician, which she said she wasn't but was the office manager. I told her that I couldn't see out of my new glasses, and she said that she knew how to figure out eye prescriptions because she had been working there for many years and the prescription was right. After going and back in forth with messages etc. for several weeks and then getting nowhere with her, I ended the conversation. I called the next day for an appointment to see Dr. Wiseman. I told them I only wanted to see him because I was having a problem seeing. I had to wait for an appointment to see him, but Dr. Weisman confirmed that despite having the correct name and date of birth on my prescription, I was given the wrong prescription! He gave me the correct prescription. Unfortunately, because I had to wait weeks for someone to correct this gross error, I was stuck with 2 pairs of useless expensive glasses! I did tell Dr Weisman about what the office manager said about insisting that I had the correct prescription and he said she is not a medical professional and should have never said that. To make matters worse they billed my insurance company for 2 office visits ($375) and billed me for those 2 balances. I called and spoke with the billing person and explained to her that I had to come back because I was given the wrong prescription and shouldn't be charged for their error. She was just as condescending and unhelpful as the office manage and said I was seen twice so I had to pay. I explained I wouldn't have had to come back if they didn't make a gross medical error and had given me the correct prescription in the first place. *Please note that this bad review is not about Dr. Weisman because he is a wonderful professional ophthalmologist that cares about his patients. He deserves 5 stars but the way the office staff treat people and breach confidentiality and HIPAA at the check-in window don't even deserve a 0 star. I will never go back to that office. read more

I am sitting in the exam room, my eyes had just been dilated, I was ready to have my eyes checked out. And then, a person comes in and introduces themselves as the office manager. She goes on to say that she had just sent me a certified letter stating that because I had missed appointments that I was no longer welcome at WO. I asked her why I my appointment was accepted, why had they just put stinging stuff in my eyes? She had no answer? I asked her why no one had ever mentioned a missed appointment or how many I have may have missed? She had no answer? Come to find out it was only one in 2020 that I missed in all my years as their customer. The practice is awesome but, I am still ponder who this person was and why she is still employed at such a fine practice. read more

It's the 21st century. Nowhere on their site has a listed phone number. I misplaced my prescription and needed it ASAP. They won't email (again, it's the 21st century) but they could fax it (who uses fax these days?) By the time I'll get this mailed to me, it'll be too late for my eyeglass appointment. WOA, you really need to enter the second decade of the 21st century. I realize that most of your clientele aren't familiar with modern methods of communication, but that's rapidly changing. Refusing to email people and using the always slow USPS is a very inefficient use of time. read more

After about 20 years of going to this ophthalmologist, I had a terrible experience that caused me to leave them. I just had my first appointment with my new doctor and it validated my decision to make a change. My last visit with Worcester Ophthalmology was extremely disappointing. The staff seemed rushed. The tech/intern seemed totally incompetent and appeared to be working without any supervision. Concerns I expressed about the way the eye test was conducted by the tech/intern seemed to be totally dismissed by the doctor. Today, my new doctor had the latest technology. The staff was outstanding, professional and thorough, in sharp contrast to what I saw during my last visit at Worcester Ophthamology. I'm very happy to have found a new doctor elsewhere. read more

When first went here about 4 years ago I love the place and love my doctor. When I called them they on 10/10 they said earliest appointment I needed a referral from my PCP. I have issue with my PCP and wasn't able to make an appointment. The lady I initially talked to say she would schedule me with another doctor so I figured I don't need a referral for him. Since I lost my glasses I thought maybe I could order them without having an appointment. I called back to ask and another lady said I needed a referral to see the second doctor as well. read more

I had a great experience here. My father had been going here for a few years so when I got a speck of something stuck to my eye I made an appointment. Everyone was friendly and professional. The office is clean, well lit, and efficient. I never had to wait very long to be seen. Dr. Anderson was confident but not cocky, knowledgable, approachable, and gladly answered all of my questions. Most importantly, her steady hand was able to quickly and painlessly remove the well-embedded foreign body from my eye. I felt very comfortable the whole time. Dr Weismann left with no apologies or warnings and dumped me to another doctor. i spent 2 hours in traffic getting there and back and another hour and a half reading reviews and finding the best. It looks like I found the worst. read more

I have been here a couple times and I agree that while the experience with the doctor is great the flow of the experience from reception to doctor to payment/discharge is disjointed and lacking attention to detail. I never got a bill from the first visit and when I called them on it, I confirmed my address. When I went in for the second visit I confirmed it in person. Both times they insisted they had the right address all along. I got the bill in the mail after paying it and someone had crossed out the incorrect address they had first entered. It had not been correct in their system and they could not admit to a mistake? They gave me a hard time about my insurance, so I had to call the insurance company myself while there and hand them my phone so they could hear it for themselves. I've left phone messages that never reach the intended doctor. The office staff feels distracted, uninterested, cold and is not terribly accurate. Initially met with Dr. Gallo on a semi-emergency basis on a Saturday - He was very personable, helpful, reassuring and allayed my concerns. I returned later for a followup with Dr. Anderson who was also extremely competent. I've continued to see her since then and have always been happy with her knowledge and professionalism. The staff has always been friendly and efficient and even when the waiting room was full I've rarely had much of a wait. I'm happy to recommend Worcester Ophthalmology. read more

I just had a cataract removed and replaced with an artificial lens by a member of this practice, Dr. Teri Kleinberg. The surgery took place early in the morning, and by the end of the day I could tell just how much my vision had improved. For a week afterward my eye was a bit sore. But the prescribed eyedrops helped and my vision seems to have gotten even better. Dr. Kleinberg and her team took good care of me, and on top of all she's a most charming person. I have nothing but good things to say. read more

I have been a patient of this practice for many years. I have never had one problem with any of the providers or office staff. Although the wait time for an appointment may be several months out for a routine exam, (as any other doctor's office) when a problem occurs the staff will come through with an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend this practice and have happily referred family and friends! read more

Went in with high hopes only to end with damage done to the optic nerve resutling in vision loss. Opps Sorry! Must be something wrong with you but there seems to be nothing we can find, so we can't explain it. Cataract Surgery is alot more dangerous than many realize. read more
