My family had the tools but NOT the know-how to build up-to-code stairs for the public. We called upon our 2015 porch 'hero' company, Progress Contracting Corp., owned by Tim & Nicole Fiorillo to ask if they could somehow give my husband and son the ins and outs to do goabout building the stairs. West Roxbury's Stratford Street Church was over-the-moon grateful to get Progress Contracting Corp's gift of time and assistance with the measuring, mitering, sawing, mentoring, etc. that allowed my husband, Peter Low, and our son, Aidan, to construct them a set of amazing 'rolling/locking' stairs for the Church. Years ago, Progress Contracting Corp. saved my family from a $50K porch disaster and they became extended family to us. With their help this much-needed project cost my family $150-ish but it was a priceless gift to the Stratford Street Church near us. I have a very old AC unit that's in the attic and I wasn't very optimistic but after about an hour of working on it Alex got it working again by replacing a fan and installing a new thermostat that was compatible with new part. He just recently installed the final touch for a whole home portable backup generator at my home, a new 3/4in gas line basement run to supply the generator (or maybe a deck grill someday), the inspector was very accomodating and approved the work quickly! He has also previously helped with regular maintenance like water heater anode rod replacement and a few gate to ball valve replacements for leaky or seized water valves. Apparently it's "unusual" here in MA to have whole home portable backup power (Costco bargain!), everyone is told a $15k concrete slab generator is the minimum, at least, that is what Castle Electric said to me!
