Great customer service. Helpful and honest advice. Friendly folks who were perfectly willing to…read moretalk options or make recommendations. For what I got, very reasonable pricing. A little over a week ago, my cat decided to water test my laptop. Long story short, a glass of water spilled into (!) my laptop. The laptop sat immersed in this pool of water for nearly 20 hours. Everything was complete toast. Although most of my files are in the cloud, especially the most important ones, I decided there might be the occasional file or folder that I might not notice tomorrow or even a year from now. I decided it would be best to retrieve the contents of the drive on the laptop for peace of mind. I left the laptop with them to do an assessment first. That assessment was ~$80. After their assessment, they indicated that the contents of the drive were retrievable and gave me an estimate of $400 to retrieve the contents of the drive (the $80 would apply to that figure). I decided it was worth the cost, if for nothing more than that elusive peace of mind. I also needed a drive to put the contents on (or provide my own). Since I didn't have one, and didn't want to bother with purchasing a 3rd party drive, they charged me $140 for a Toshiba Portable Storage device. So, for about $600 (w/ tax) I got everything off the lost drive. Was it worth it? Without a doubt. Would I go back? Hell yeah.

Long gone are the days when your…read morecomputer blew up and after spending several hours trying to fix it yourself, you trudged over to Prog Tech and had a one on one conversation about what the options were for getting you back up. And then you left it there and they fixed it. Now, it's obvious they don't want the local, neighborhood individual with a problem. They make it next to impossible to connect with anyone from just trying to find them on Roosevelt to no one answering the phone when you call them repeatedly just to make an appointment. They couldn't say more clearly, "We don't want you!" Stay away from them, they're not for you.

In the 1990s, I built a website on GoLive that was the envy of my colleagues; other agents would beg me and pay me to design for them, but it was all I could do to create one website and go about my workaday life. A couple of years ago, I recognized that my site looked hopelessly amateur (but earnest, right?) so I went to my graphic design firm and they gave Real Basics the design and now my site is rocking like never before! I'm not worried about a lot of things like security, and Real Basics makes sure that I don't have to worry by being proactive about it. My website is my calling card to the general public. Everything needs to look great and feel fresh, and Real Basics makes it happen. If you're a real estate broker, let Real Basics redo your site and it will upgrade the image of our whole profession, for reals. Real Basics is really, basically, the best!

First off he advised me to move to a more secure and affordable hosting service and then handled the move with ease. Next he met to learn about my needs. David has a way of explaining the technical things I need to know in a way that is completely understandable. Why I continue to rely on David is that he's attentive to the invisible but critical details of a website, while offering clear and honest advice about how best to show and tell the world about my business.

Once he called back and tells me the business is right around the corner from where I was parked, I was frustrated unable to meet face to face. There's no visible business sign from the street, other than a residential home for the address publicly provided. Eric called me again about a week after to see if I was ready and told him I'd get back to him once the design is complete. In the meantime, I gave him an idea of the design and the number of shirts I'm looking to order. I got no response, via text, in the two texts sent. I called many times, leaving v-msgs and no call back. I called around June 19th, alerting him I'm ready and still didn't get a call back. I just placed an order with another company for about $2K worth of merchandise. They might be good once they "accept" you but trying to get a hold of them has been difficult beyond reason. I really wanted to give a local business a chance but clearly they didn't want my business. I'm hoping there was more going on than the silent treatment I got.
