Tamar is a great trainer. My wife and I have done couples workouts with Tamar for the last year. We both feel stronger and more energetic from before we started. She watches to correct our form, and offers alternative options when necessary. The workouts are always in different styles and different exercises which keeps it interesting. Cardio and stretching are always part of the routine as well. Tamar is also very knowledgeable about the body and can answer questions about why exercises are done a certain way, which I really appreciate. I could not be happier with my decision to sign up for personal training with Tamar. I actually found the studio because I live in the neighborhood and was walking by it every day during the pandemic, and eventually convinced myself to start moving my body again and going for actual workouts. I needed someone holding me accountable, since at-home workouts were just not cutting it. The first time I met Tamar, I immediately felt the good vibes from her. She cares about the people she trains... and I love when she encourages me during workouts by calling me "Athlete"! It makes me feel strong! Coming out of the isolating portion of the pandemic, I had been following (and still follow) anti-diet culture posts on social media. I knew I didn't want to start stepping on a scale, or tracking calories, or measuring body fat. I didn't want to look at any numbers. I just wanted to move again... and ENJOY moving again. Tamar was all for it and she has totally supported me in what I need from our personal training sessions. (By the way, I totally understand that some people will want to talk about food and step on a scale, so keep in mind that Tamar is flexible in how she trains her clients.) This a a small personal training studio with a very spirited and fun personal trainer, Tamar. It has all the equipment you need for private 1:1 sessions customized to your goals. Tamar offers monthly plans, or typical session packages. I do the monthly plan with 2 sessions per week for a reasonable price. Scheduling is flexible and I look forward to my sessions every week. I came to Tamar with terrible back pain Andy had put on a lot of weight due to an injury. My first goal was to feel confident in my body, feel strong, and get healthy. It has not been easy and some days I get frustrated with myself, but I feel more like me than I have in a long time. She's also been helping me with my eating to make more reasonable decisions for a sustainable eating plan I can actually do. I told her at the start that all of the fad diets is done over the years have given me a toxic relationship with food and she actually listened. The music is good, the attitude is good, and you'll sweat, but you'll never feel bad about yourself, or where you are today. I'm going to write this right after Happy Hour Yoga simply because I feel so refreshed. I went in sluggish on a gloomy day only to and come out energized and rejuvenated. I am making a grand effort in generally finding healthier habits not just physically but mentally and emotionally. I also want to detoxify. This class fits the bill and I didn't feel pressured to be a Pro. It is callled "Happy Hour Yoga" because you can choose to have an adult beverage after class which adds a fun social twist (non-alcoholic options are available. Tamar is the best! I've been a client since The Workout Spot opened and can't say enough food things. Some trainers call it in, Tamar Brings It week after week. There's a variety of exercises, a great selection of eclectic music and fun conversation. A bunch of times I'd tell her some muscle feels a bit wonky and Tamar would work around it or with it. I've been going to Tamar's "Happy Hour Yoga" class for a few months now, and, at the risk of overstating - she's changed my life for the better! Fridays have always been a tough day, as I'm pretty exhausted by the end of the week. But since I stated going to this Friday class, I come home rejuvenated, energized, and generally more positive (and less exhausted). It is a great way to unwind and prep for the weekend. Furthermore: I'm one clumsy-assed person, and I've noticed I've developed much better balance. I've also gained more patience and mindfulness. And because of that, I seem to hurt myself less (see above re: clumsiness)! Since she's a personal trainer, she also gives good advice and education throughout the sessions about health and fitness, it's kind of a free extra perk. I've been to several other yoga classes and got tired of holier-than-thou attitudes and "coolness". Tamar is not like that at all - super chill, really authentic nice person, and fun to be around! I decided to write this review today because I've been sick all week, it's now Friday, I'm feeling better, and I realized I've been waiting all week looking forward to going to class tonight. Tamar is an awesome trainer who balances a tough, no-nonsense attitude with genuine kindness and fun. So you end up enjoying the time you spend with her, even when it's full of those effective but hard exercises you dread. I worked with her for 6 months in 2014-2015 and developed lasting habits for a strong/toned figure. She listens to you and works with you to develop a plan that you'll want to stick with. I've had personal trainers in the past who felt super transactional and "one size fits all." I've never felt that with Tamar, she's clearly invested in her clients. In addition to advising me on exercise and diet, she was emotionally supportive if I was having a bad day or sad about a breakup. Because of her genuine caring nature on top of her fitness knowledge, I can see how she's a great trainer for all types of people regardless of age, gender, or fitness level. read more

First off, Tamar is one of the best Yoga instructors out there. She is both lets workout and stretch with a little bit of energy flow mixed in. Best part is she helps you improve your poses. I moved away a few months ago and I am having a hard time finding a yoga instructor as amazing as she is. It does not stop with the yoga. Her personal training sessions are well worth it. You work your butt off, but her energy and support makes it still a fun experience. And just like with yoga, I am having a heard time finding a trainer that I trust as much as her.
