Walked directly in to the lobby reception and was greeted by two friendly desk associates. The check in required photo identification for both of us. Clear instructions to the Dr Office on the first floor. DR CHOI's office: Checked in by Kelly~ friendly and efficient. Nearly immediately checked with procedures and sent us to X~ray registration on level one lobby. ( this seemed like the only redundant process) there was no line, so we were able to check in quickly with the friendly desk representative who knew we were on our way- Good communication between Kelly at Dr Choi's office and Radiology reception. Within minutes we were on the way to 2nd floor radiology. RADIOLOGY: smooth arrival experience ( I recommend that you snap a photo of your script for your records before handing it over. They were accommodating for this when we asked, this may save time from having to ask for records later. WAITING: one other patient was in the waiting room when we arrived. The waiting room is organized, well lit, and clean. There is a TV The wait was reasonable and brief about 7 minutes. Erica and student Tammy greeted us and requested the script ~ we directed them to the desk agent. Within a minute, they left for X-ray. More pleasant staff. All is going smoothly for Radiology. He was on DUTCHESS COUNTY HOSPICE- he was found to be in A FIB - HR over 140 - can't breath - in pain as he has lung cancer & COPD along with a slew of other issues and not walking. O2 ORDER INCORRECT -- TANK PEOPLE SAY 2L and a family had to call hospital and they said 5L - was 6L while he was admitted. They figure that out. Saturday we call home care place - we have his paperwork however, the case manager was supposed to have primary call and fill out the paperwork- case worker screwed that up too and had hospital DR sign it. PRIMARY CARE Says "hey -- we haven't seen you -- we won't fill out the paperwork until you come in." SUNDAY NO NURSE SERVICE - NO AIDE -- NO PAIN PILLS -- SENT FROM PHARMACY--. I Called again frantically-- DR CARLOS SANCHEZ states "I made a huge mistake -I forgot to send pain pills". --- SUNDAY 6:20pm -- Asian DR calls - no name given at all -- SAYS "I can't give him pain pills "he was discharged 48hrs ago." Monday comes -- home care nurse says hey "his primary needs to sign off on paperwork". -- Son visits after work and find him sitting in wheelchair crying in pain. We call back -- patient experience by the way is the best sweet person to report all the wrong doings this hospital did to him . Discharge on 8/14/26 - he calls himself another ambulance on 8/20/26 as he is in pain and he fell twice. Meanwhile PT states he is best to go to REHAB FACILITY -- but because he said I'd rather go home -- NOTHING TO GO home too but himself!!!!! -- DO BETTER STUPID VASSAR CASE WORKER -- HOW YOU LIKE IT WE DID TYAT TO YOUR FATHER??? This hospital didn't help this man -- all persons deserve good care and good judgment-- so NOW he is back in the hospital -- I've complained to NY STATE and they say the hospital isn't wrong!!!!!! This practice had to do just one thing -- send a prescription for heart medication to my pharmacy…read more-- and it couldn't manage to get it done. At least five people there checked my pharmacy information, yet the prescription never arrived. Hudson Valley medical practices are negligent and irresponsible and for the most part staffed by incompetents. The doctor on call whom I finally got on the phone and who refused to give me his name said it's "inappropriate" for me to complain to a doctor about prescription issues. Well, I think it's inappropriate for a medical practice to play Russian roulette with a patient's health by not sending critical prescriptions. And the name of the doctor I spoke to is Sankar Varanasi. Ain't no hiding in the digital age!

This hospital is SEVERELY understaffed!!!! There is no doubt that nurses are running around trying and doing their best and working their tails off (for the most part.). I am aware that this is a level one trauma center. I thought bringing my mother there, she would be in good hands. Not the case. She was left in I. ER for over 36 hours in the hallway. I get it, they were super busy and didn't have a bed. She had to go to the bathroom, we flagged someone down, I heard her say, "she will have to wait". Get that too. They were over stressed. (She is a 78 year old woman with an impaction and a fractured spinal injury). She is out of her mind from all the oxy and muscle relaxers they prescribed her. It was ridiculous! They wheeled her in a wheel chair to the bathroom, left her there and told her to hit the button when she was done. As her daughter, I waited outside after she was wheeled away. I used the same toilet shortly after, there were SEVERAL dried blood streaks streaming down the bowl! I was HORRIFIED!!! Clearly they had been there for a while, I hovered over the toilet, my mom clearly sat on it! I can't even get into the ridiculous details about her nurse, whom told her I was being mean to him as I tried to find out information about her admission, high on over prescribed drugs, she told him not to give me any info about her. I am her healthcare proxy and power of attorney. That is the short version. In her discharge appears, they referred her to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon!!!! She is 79 years old, not a child and needs a neurosurgeon!!! Thank god, she has a good GP that referred her to a good neuro and changed her meds that they prescribed her that had her back in the RR impacted and out of her mind!!!!! She is much better now. I am traumatized by this experience at this hospital and pray to god I NEVER EVER have to visit for ANYONE ever again!

When you call for information or to get clarification, where to park, for example, you're sent to the queue where you will spend what feels like an eternity just waiting for a simple answer. Once you get into the correct parking lot don't get complacent. The elevators are not marked with the departments beside the buttons. As was my case, I was told to go down for the radiology department. Thinking I was already on the first floor, I push the LL button only to find out that the first floor is a lower floor and the second floor is the main floor. The problem is that when she has to get multiple medications using the pumps it takes longer, a lot longer sometimes hours of time is added to her visit. Some times we sit here for more then 6 hrs, if both pumps work that time can be cut by half.

I went in to see my OB about the pain I've been having, and instead of taking my concerns seriously, she kept trying to dismiss me and send me to the ER -- only for the ER to tell me I needed to follow up with my OB. I was then scheduled to see another OB, Katherine Bishop, and she was by far the worst doctor l've ever encountered. She completely dismissed my pain and concerns. While 1 was explaining why I needed to be taken out of work due to the pain and my inability to perform my job safely, she literally walked out of the room and never came back. This was an extremely unprofessional and uncaring experience. I would not recommend this facility to any pregnant woman seeking prenatal care - they lack compassion, communication, and basic respect for their patients.
