After ultimately making the decision to quit, I knew I needed guidance and reached out for legal support. A close friend strongly recommended this firm, and I am so grateful that I took their advice. From the very beginning, the attorney was patient, compassionate, and thorough. He took the time to explain every step of the process in a way that made it easy to understand my options. I never felt pressured. Instead, I felt informed and empowered to make the decisions that were right for me. Communication was excellent throughout the entire case. I was assigned a case manager who was always available to discuss details and answer questions, which made the process feel organized and manageable. It gave me peace of mind knowing I could easily reach someone whenever I needed clarification or support. In the end, I am very satisfied with the outcome. More importantly, I feel relieved and finally able to move forward. I am truly grateful for the professionalism, guidance, and support I received. If you are dealing with an employment matter and need legal assistance, I highly recommend this firm.

After reviewing my situation, the firm informed me that wrongful termination claims, on their own, typically do not permit recovery of attorney's fees unless they are accompanied by additional claims such as discrimination or harassment--which were not part of my original complaint. Consequently, the firm declined to take my case, citing the limited potential for recovering attorney's fees.

However, the intake conversation was unnecessarily dismissive and adversarial from the start. I was repeatedly interrupted, spoken over, and not given a fair opportunity to explain the specifics and context of my situation before assumptions were made. What I found especially inappropriate was the implication that I was being dishonest simply because my experience did not immediately fit a predetermined narrative. People seeking legal guidance during difficult employment situations deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect, regardless of whether a firm decides to take the case. I was also told that medical conditions unrelated to work are not protected at all in California, which is simply inaccurate. This response suggests a fundamental misunderstanding of basic employment law principles, which is disappointing for a legal intake representative.

I spent months talking to other employment lawyers before I found Labor Law PC. A lot of firms are…read moregood at one kind of case and stay in that lane. Mine did not look like the usual employment law case and the issues were complex. The facts were messy. The employment rules were messy. Nevertheless, Noël Harlow and her team looked at what had actually happened and agreed to take me on. Going through litigation is isolating. People who love you get lost in it. I got tired of trying to explain it. I felt alone in it. Noël was the person who could hold all of that and then say it back in plain language. Once I could explain it at home, I could start repairing relationships that had been strained by how little anyone around me understood what I was going through. I am grateful they said yes when others did not, that they treated me with dignity, and supported me through this most fragile and isolating time of need.

When the terms of your settlement agreement doesn't have your best interests in mind, and you ask…read morethem about it, they tell you to talk to a tax attorney to answer your questions, and that they can not offer you any advice or any explanation, because they're not tax attorneys, completely leaving you in the dark. This is the point where I went from feeling like a had an attorney that was alright, to completely unsure and regretting picking them to represent me. It sucks because if ever there is a time to want to feel confident and assured in the people representing you, it's then. They pressure you to settle. "We advise you accept this settlement" " yeah but I don't know what my acceptance of this settlement means for me come tax season, could you please explain it?" "No, but we advise you accept this settlement." The only communication you'll get with your attorney come settlement time is the forms you need to sign. It's supposed to be a 45/55 split. You get 55. But they split the initial amount then they charge you fees which they deduct from your portion. Shouldn't what you're charging me in fees be included in your portion of the settlement? Isn't that what your portion is for? What is your portion for then? So now it's a 45/55 split, with THEM being the 55. And you still haven't paid taxes on that settlement. They'll remind you that this is what you agreed to as if any normal person understands what any of that shit means when they sign it, not to mention you signed that agreement four years ago, and they'll make you feel stupid for even asking. That's what I get for expecting a bunch of lawyers not to be a bunch of shiesty swindlers. Also I had to show up in person to my deposition in the opposing attorneys office while my attorney was on zoom. I don't think they understand how uncomfortable it is for a former employee to be present and alone in the law office of the attorney for their former employer. It's like imagine being robbed, and now you got to go make a statement to the authorities, giant camera pointed right in your face, in the office of the defense attorney representing the criminal.
