I love this place and there's not much else I want to say.. But I will. I don't care if it's a Saturday, Monday, whatever day it is I'll eat Werners if I can. You see the line, and you see the line go. The food is so quick you're in and out in a jiffy. If you really complain about a line HERE.. Maybe it isn't the place for you. I'll enjoy more food if you don't. All in all this weiner joint has been here forever and should always be here. No modifications needed. Man on the grill will always give you a smile and make sure what you're getting is to your likings and the guys at the stand will always top what you get with some delicious toppings.. Wanna go here? Do it.. Will you see me? Possibly.. Will I buy you a Brautwurst? No..

Solid market with some top-notch sausage-fests on Saturdays. You can see the smoke wafting down Johnson Drive as they grill out all kinds of their sausages, all at a couple bucks a pop on Saturday. If you take one thing away from this review it would be to check them out on these occasions. The rest of the market is okay, specializing in German and other European goodies that you're not likely to find at many other places. We tried some lebkuchen, a German cookie that we our family makes around the holidays. We wanted to compare cookies and let me just say we'll keep making these on our own. You can buy their sausages frozen to go, as well as pick up a lunch any day of the week inside.

On Saturdays the outdoor grill serves from 11:00 am - 2:30 pm. I've been coming here for Saturday outdoor grilled sausages for over 20 years. The bratwurst and knackwurst are my favorites. The bun bread is fabulous.

This place is pretty cool! I've walked through the small store before but never needed anything. I've only came on Saturday though during the "Sausage Anonymous" Meetings LOL. Brat with Sauerkraut and German Mustard...how can you go wrong? So good! They make their sausage in house and the flavors are pretty good!

Fritz's takes a blue ribbon for its $3 made and smoked in-house hot dog. Free sauerkraut, mustard, Dijon, BBQ sauce, and ketchup are available at the condiment table and other toppings are available for purchase, I added jalapeños and slivered onions for $1. A masterpiece on a soft but durable bun. I also bought a $5 pint of sausage "burnt ends" that I ate plain and mixed into a scrambled egg dish. The $8 whole smoked chicken was my wife and I's favorite chicken we've ever had. I'm sad that in Fritz's has been in operation 99 years and that I have never been in before this weekend. While during most of the year, they do sell lunch, that's just not why most people go to Fritz's. They're renowned for their smoked meats. Around holidays they sell smoked turkeys, gravy, and- most importantly- their 3 sausage stuffing, which is a must for our holiday meals. It is delicious! It can get busy some mornings with people picking up, but I always see people getting helped fast, the line goes quickly. Pro tip: you don't have to be there right in the morning. Wait a couple hours and come in, you'll be fine. Year round, we're a fan of their breakfast burrito mix of meats- just cook it up with eggs and you have yourself a filling meal. Then there's the dog bones.... Altogether, this is a simple and unassuming place, a bit old fashioned, but very much solid.

The person assisting me was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a passion for steak. I picked up a couple of the T-Bone steaks. He said they were exceptionally tender and would fall off the bone. As an extra service I was given some of their house rub. I seasoned the steaks with the rub and dry aged them for only 3 hours. I put them on my charcoal grilled, and cooked them medium rare. They were the best steaks I have ever had in my life. They seared perfectly and I will only buy my high end steak from this place in Kansas City from now on!

What makes this place stand out is the concept. You can walk up to the butcher case, pick out your own steak, and have them grill it for you. It's a fun experience that feels different from a traditional steakhouse. If you'd rather order from the menu, there are also plenty of meat and seafood options available. We shared a bone-in ribeye that was absolutely delicious. We started with the Sweet Potato Hummus, which my wife especially loved. The real surprise of the night was the Hot Honey & Goat Cheese Brussels Sprouts. Those were outstanding and easily one of the best sides we've had in a long time. The roasted potatoes, on the other hand, were just okay. Another thing worth mentioning is the deli-style refrigerated cases in the back of the shop. They're packed with prepared meals, sides, meats, and other items that looked genuinely tempting for taking home later. Overall, a very enjoyable first experience and a creative addition to the Kansas City dining scene

Here, the strict, timeless geometry of the Left Bank softens into a warm, sun-lit casual elegance, a neighborhood sanctuary where the hum of local politics replaces the brooding silence of the philosopher's corner. It is a space where the Democratic social scene is always in full, effervescent effect, a kinetic theater of ideas where local strategists, organizers, and policy wonks gather over marble tables to debate the future of the state while tearing apart freshly baked croissants. The air thickens not with existential dread, but with the electric, hopeful prose of a collective striving for progress, making it the definitive salon of the modern suburban landscape. The beauty of French Market lies in this seamless blending of civic passion and culinary delight. Every corner of the room feels curated with a benevolent affection, an atmosphere fueled entirely by a staff that can only be described as thoroughly fabulous. From the front counter to the busy kitchen, the team moves with a synchronized, smiling grace that makes every patron feel like the guest of honor at an intimate neighborhood gathering. They navigate the bustling room with a genuine warmth, pouring drinks and delivering plates with an infectious energy that elevates the casual setting into something truly extraordinary. It is a rare, beautiful thing to find a restaurant where the hospitality feels less like a service industry transaction and more like a generous act of civic kinship. On the plate, the market routinely touches the sublime, offering dishes that sing with a clear, poetic precision. The crab cakes are a revelation of coastal longing, packed with sweet, tender lump meat and boasting a delicate, golden sear that yields effortlessly to the fork. Nearby, the croque madame arrives as an opulent, dripping monument to breakfast-time indulgence, a decadent tower of savory ham and melted Gruyère crowned with a perfectly runny egg that coats each bite in a rich, golden velvet. To wash down these triumphs, one must order the French press coffee, a dark, aromatic brew that arrives in a slow, plunging ritual, delivering a bold, robust punch that commands your full attention and jump-starts any morning debate. While the kitchen operates at a remarkably high standard across the board, a discerning diner must exercise a small measure of tactical restraint when navigating the entrees. For all the brilliance on display, it is best to gently bypass the steak frites for the time being, steering clear of the dish until the kitchen source a more premium quality of beef to match their otherwise flawless standards. But this minor detour is easily forgotten the moment you glance toward the pastry case. The desserts here are an absolute, transcendent poetry of sugar and butter, offering delicate tarts and airy confections that are nothing short of sublime. French Market remains a triumphant, essential neighborhood jewel, where the food is exceptional, the people are magnificent, and the conversation never stops flowing.
