I live in Sacramento and came down for a wedding in SoCal. I had planned to wear my French Navy Borsalino to the wedding but of course I forgot it. I had decided to spend the week before the wedding in LA visiting family so I ordered a replacement hat from Hats.com (in a different color) a week before the wedding. I paid for guaranteed 2 day delivery to ensure I had it in plenty of time before the wedding. Of course they didn't ship it until the day before the wedding because they had to "process" the order. We found these guys on eBay of all places and decided to come them out. I am thrilled we did! This place has an amazing selection, even better than Hat Guys in Oakland (also a great hat store) and also sells boots. As soon as I walked in I knew I was in the right place. This is a family owned store and the people here know their products. Mike is who helped us, and he was great to work with. I showed him pictures of styles I liked and he brought out several hats. I settled on an out of production Stetson in cognac and got it for a great price! He also got me a feather that would better match what I would be wearing with the hat. Service - no one spoke to us, the man didn't even bother to look up at myself or my son, who was ready to purchase boots today( fearful of this community, sensing racism. Looking for hat to go to a cigar lounge party and I remembered this hat spot in Inglewood. I haven't been here in years since I started growing my locs. I found a nice derby style reasonably priced. Selection is incredible. Help is extremely knowledgable. You can't go wrong here. Wife though I should upgrade from tired old baseball caps. I was worried about looking pretentious, but did want to add a bit of class to my look. We looked at everything when we got there, and there is a lot to look at. $180 Stetson looked great on me, but really, I would only wear it once or twice a month. I needed something for everyday use. When we did go into decision mode on a flat cap look we still had hundreds to choose from. That's when the shop keeper went into action. He ascertained my size and brought out three caps that were in my style. The Borsalino was great, but insanely expensive. He let us know that the other two (also Italian wool) were made by Borsalino for the other brands. We bought both at $40 each. I will be back. read more

I went here for a specific style of Driver Cap. They had a ton of dif styles, but still didn't have what I was looking for. I didn't end up purchasing anything, BUT... The owner was super helpful, very nice and very patient. He went out of his way to show me all kinds of options and was very attentive to what I was looking for. This shop is the mother load for those of us who love high-quality hats. This store has everything from top-of-the-line Stetsons to Dobbs onto the lower-priced hats such as Stacy Adams. There are literally thousands of hats in the shop. When you walk in it may actually take your breath away. They have so many fedoras! As someone who is been in love with high-quality hats for several decades I have literally have never been in a shop that offered so many hats with such a wide variety. Everywhere you look they have rows and rows of hats and the walls are lined with hats. I must add that they also have a wide variety of cowboy boots. They have a lot of them as well. But, as cowboy boots are not really my style I will leave the reviewing of those to someone with more experience in the area. This is a large shop staffed by what appears to be a family. The patriarch, the father, has a vast knowledge in the area of high-quality hats. His wife is very knowledgeable, as well, and she is also very helpful if you are seeking out a specific type of hat. I believe their son is also part and parcel of the business and he helps everybody who needs it. What I'm saying is they are all very helpful people and they have a lot of knowledge they can offer you and they can also guide you with some direction if that is what you need. Overall great shop! Just bought some boots for the Feria de Ganadero in Chiquimula, Guatemala and my experience was great. I told the guy what I wanted, he gave me some Input, and I ended up only trying on one out of boots which were perfect. I was stressed because I have a wide big foot size 12.5 men and finding boots was a challenge. Not here. I was out in 10 min. I would highly recommend this store. Most of the hats were too small or a weird color. We had a lot of money to spend but I think the worker just wrote us off as we weren't dress up. Yelp 100 Challenge 2016 - Review 19 of 100... Yelp has me tellin' all my business... but in the name of helping consumers and businesses alike, here goes... I have a big head and sometimes wear other people's hair so it is essential that, when I rock my hats, they fit right. I need extended hat sizes. I was, first, exposed to this store in a very spoiled way - I would always receive hats from here as gifts. Someone trying to shop his way into my heart noticed how I was peepin' his Stacy Adams® hat collection and purchased a couple for me. He has an even bigger head than me and he realized his size is the correct one needed for my hair when in braids, which is bigger than normal because of the added hair. Once I realized where he purchased these (he tried to keep it from me for a while), I paid a visit and wished I'd never had! Hat collecting, especially with my mama's expensive style and the selection provided here, can be pretty pricey! This store is WAY too overstimulating for an indecisive (when it comes to accessories overload) shopper like me! There are rows and rows of stacks and stacks of hats to the left of the main walkway, and rows and rows of shelves and shelves of boots on the right side! Colors, textures, patterns, fabrics, sizes, styles galore! I could be in there for way too much of my life admiring the different headwear (AND boots! But I quickly left that area before I even saw a smidgeon of it - I have to practice some restraint and I love shoes!). What's great is that you can tell one of the associates what you are looking for in terms of brand, size, style, etc., and they can either lead you to the appropriate section(s) or check in the back. The older Asian gentleman is never really friendly to me - though he doesn't follow me around like other reviews have mentioned - until I start asking questions about his inventory. Then he kinda cracks a smile. I will forever be indebted to and very upset with this man because he is the one who introduced me to Borsalino®... this prestigious hat company provided me with my first patchwork cap. He said he gave it to me for a deal at $100 (which about killed me to pay but I gave it to myself as a birthday present) - after research and having hat aficionados comment on it, I knew he did. After having a hat cradle your head the way a Borsalino® does, your hat tastes escalate. Unfortunately, I found out upon my last visit to this store that the Borsalino®'s new CEO is discontinuing the cap styles I adore (boo!!!). The younger bald Asian gentleman was nice to me - very helpful and eager to find the answer to my nit picky questions if he didn't know it. I don't even look at the ladies hats (I prefer "little old man" style hats), but they have a pretty large selection of anything a damsel could want, from church going to club poppin' styles. Unfortunately, a store as large as this one does not sell hat boxes (which are very hard to come by!) nor do they clean hats. They can possibly shape a hat for you if the material is right and you purchase your own hat starch. There are a few metered parking spots on Market, but the majority of your spots for this vendor will be behind the store in a garage (to the northeast corner of the building). I will always be a fan of this place. If I win the lottery (guess I should play), I would spend a small fortune here and actually cross the dividing line to the cowboy boot side. (One pair of cowboy boots will do, for now.) I will stop by when I'm in the area and I will make special trips to visit. I decided to walk in this 12/23/15 to see what type of hats the store offers and educate myself on the styles. I was followed and stared at the entire time as if I was a thief and when I went to ask a question the response was was more than rude. The guy yelled, turned his back to me and brushed off my question. I felt more than disrespect today. The only place I have seen several Stetson Open Road hats in numerous colors and the pricing is reasonable. Go anywhere else and you may find one or two in the Silverbelly color and that's it. Since sizing is always a little hit and miss as it's rare to find two of the same hat sizes exactly the same size, I picked up a Open Road in Walnut that was just a tad too small and the owner took it and steamed it to fit me perfectly. Loads of cheap street parking located around the area. If your looking for a hat and can't find it here, you probably won't find it anywhere. read more

My friend from France wanted a Panama hat that was not made in China, so after checking out places like Venice Beach and at malls, I turned to Yelp review. Thank god I did, because he was able to buy Made in USA hat at about the third of what he was going to pay at Nordstrom for Panama Jack hat. What impressed us most was the selection (& prices) - i say there were easily 30 different white Panama style hats to choose from including some from Panama that were hand made. The sales person was very helpful, but wouldn't let us take photos. If you need any fashionable hats (not baseball caps) this should be your first stop. I bought a pair of eel boots from World Boot Mart (King Exotics) via Ebay. The items arrived and I wore them about 3 times in 5 months then they started making a popping noise when walking. I took them into a shoe repair shop in Austin and was informed that the stiffening rod inside was not installed correctly and they should be returned to the seller. Visiting LA and wanted to buy a pair of boots before returning home. Stopped in to World Hat and Boot Mart and was very impressed with the selection of boots. If I were into hats this would be the place to shop. If you don't find a hat here then you probably don't need one ! Shopped about 45 min and found the boots for me. Price was good and they fit perfectly. The gentleman behind the counter was wonderful from the initial "Hello,Welcome" to checkout. I've been shopping here at this store for the past 15 years or so. As all others races have been brain washed about men of color (mainly,Black Men) The same maybe the case with these merchants culturaly. The service of yester-year has long vanished, The All Mighty Dollar is King. We as Blacks have to understand the give and take.We have become the economical whores to a host of merchant pimps who drain our communities of its black dollars. In the past it was the jews, today it is the asains(koreans), and beleive it or not, in the near future it will be hispanics. The store fronts that we could never obtain any rental or purchase information on has been readily offered to them. If a merchant has a product that i want to purchase, and the price is fair, no foul, no harm, But in turn I will make them respect my purchase via my conduct as a customer, which I have done with the merchants. We as Blacks are Teachers. The whole entire world mimics any,and evrything we do,and say. The moment we capture the trend before it becomes main stream, we control the dollar, not others. At this store all Boots/Shoes are diplayed as a single item, and not by a pair. So if you think that they beleive that your going to steal one shoe, its ridiculous, because what are you going to do with one shoe ?
